I don’t know MVC that well, but I keep getting from this thread that chill_effect has the most problems against Magneto, Sent, etc. but is able to beat most top players when they pick those characters anyway?

I’m going to say this a different way then. I have a better chance at beating magneto, storm, cable with iceman (my storm can beat cable) , but sent can kill iceman with unfly and commando or cyke. Thats why i have iceman sent commando. But yea really the thing is do u believe me. I’ve done it just waiting to slowyly creep up. Iceman can contend, i will cheese then even if i don’t like to with the icebeams just to win.

My two main teams are Amingo/Storm/Sonson (1 god, but 2 mids), and Cammy/Morrigan/Tron (no gods).

Oh, and i’ve got a friend who plays Iceman/Doom/Tron as his main team. He’s not a great player by any means, but his Iceman is pretty sick, and gives me problems. I hope you’re at evo, chilli, I would like to see if playing against my friend’s Iceman will help at all against yours. Just look for the guy playing one of the two teams mentioned above, and most likely wearing a sombrero. I’m not easy to miss .

From what I saw, it’s just another gimmick team (Iceman basic chip, looking to land launch, super, DHC Hail Storm). Any gimmick team looks good on paper, and especially if it’s backed by a great duo (or at least one that suits you well). But since you’re basically limited to needing to land that hit with Iceman and he’s not going to be madly productive on his own… I can’t see how this would be construed as a more effective team than anybody/Storm/Sent. Not to disrespect Iceman, and I did get a number of your matches filmed so people can see those when they come out, but … it’s kind of a limited team in the long run. But hey, so is every team I play, so we’re in the same boat there.

You’re right & everything, but if you think about it every team is gimmick; it’s just that Big 4 gimmicks are have been documented, honed & perfected 1000 times more than everybody else combined. I mean, Cyke infinite = gimmick or good ish? Depends on how often it bags you the wins, I suppose.

Maybe we should re-define “gimmick” as “played-to strength”, doesn’t seem quite so demeaning… :karate:
