I noticed almost all your major damage comes from people getting hit by iceman’s launcher because they don’t realize the priority on it. But… if iceman gets famous again, people will know how to fight him, and good players will know how to deal with his launcher just like good players get around storm’s s.rh so you will probably need some good setups to land a clean launch in that case…
but anyhow you don’t need everyone else to tell you what to play, you know what “everyone else” will say, they’ll say swap iceman for commando. Use your own judgement, if you think iceman has good chemistry with storm/sent and you do better with iceman instead of commando then use him… if you face enough good competition you’ll realize yourself whether or not iceman is being a bottleneck to your potential you don’t need someone else to tell you that.
Thanks for the input but I also play iceman sent commando. My only problem is sent with commando, but i play sent commando very good also. so i change teams depending on who they have.
Uh sorry to burst your bubble but 7-8 win streak at ts5 is nothing. I had almost 20 on the cab I was on and I suck. Shit alot of Htown players had big streaks going on. But that was early, then the good ppl started showing up and I didn’t see many streaks going on cept for Sanford’s 50 game win streak.
Neways if you wanna improve your iceman… I suggest you ask Joe for some advice. Iceman was his main player back in the haydays and still does okay with him in casual. Well he’s really smart too but still… he basicly knows the ins and outs of Iceman. Either way beef up sent/cap incase your iceman dies quick. And he does… he takes damage like a bitch.

From what I saw, it’s just another gimmick team (Iceman basic chip, looking to land launch, super, DHC Hail Storm). Any gimmick team looks good on paper, and especially if it’s backed by a great duo (or at least one that suits you well). But since you’re basically limited to needing to land that hit with Iceman and he’s not going to be madly productive on his own… I can’t see how this would be construed as a more effective team than anybody/Storm/Sent. Not to disrespect Iceman, and I did get a number of your matches filmed so people can see those when they come out, but … it’s kind of a limited team in the long run. But hey, so is every team I play, so we’re in the same boat there.
On the real dog, try Doom with Iceman especially against Sent. (chips the fuck out of him), I got a homie that plays that team here and it’s some ill shit yo, maybe you try Ice, Doom, with either Strider, Sent, or Storm :tup:
Heh, Iceman… hes too old school to win with nowadays. Mainly, to win wit him, it all depends on ur other characters…cable,sent, or storm. My ole team used to be cable, sent, iceman, and I only used him as an assist. Fact is, iceman has nothing really going for him…no air-dashing, no good supers, no priority on his attacks and etc. At least the other mid tiers like rogue,IM, morrigon and such have air-dashing;it lets them get around. IMO, play iceman if you wanna look cool. BUt dont expect to beat top tier players wit them…
funny how my old cable team was iceman, cable, sent. I don’t play cable at all nemore. I what preppy said was true to some sense but if I have to cheese u to frustrate u into making mistakes then i will then u’ll just end up getting launched in some way shape or form. In most of my matches I didn’t bother to cheese the matches, i limited the number of icebeams i threw, only when i had to. Icemans dash is at least fast so he can rush down and chip for a while. You just gotta be smart about it. still iceman, sent, commando is a good team. Like i said i only have trouble with sentinel and commando oriented teams. iceman can take out magneto and storm, cable too but gotta be careful and bait.
Just go down to Juarez, Mexico. I just got back from a tourney over there and they love to have the damage set to one. Watch out though cause they hate storm, you might get shanked…
WTF dude, I dunno how iceman can be good if you don’t use the cheese. Iceman is all about the icebeam, use that shit every chance you get. Always use the cheese and never think otherwise. MvC 2 is all about cheese. If you are playing someone who is using a top tier team then you need to use the cheese, you are playing as iceman afterall. So use the fucking cheese!!!
