Just thought I’d mention for those who of you who’ve missed out on the initial limited run of the Tek-mini cases, I recieved an email from Art just a couple of days ago. He plans to begin taking orders again in a few weeks. I’m expecting an email when he does open the orders back up. I’ll post back when I hear from him unless he pops back in here himself first.
Just wanted to bring this thread up again to see if there’s any more interest for the Tek-Case Minis. I’ve had a couple of requests, so I’m planning to start another small production.
I had to put the Minis on hold for a while because the process in making them was a lot more time consuming, so it took way more time than I had available. I’ve streamlined the process a bit better now and the results is that the Side joints are now made with an opaque color instead of it being clear. This is because I’m using an adhesive method to combine the joint pieces, so the opaque colors will hide the adhesives.
The side joints will come with a default choice of White or Black, at no extra charge. All the other 1/8" opaque options are also available like the Mirror colors. Speaking of Mirror, I have a new Mirror Green currently available, and that option will be updated on my site for other products as well.
So if anyone is still interested, please email me your options using the spreadsheet here. Again, the only change is to enter Black or White for the default Side Joint color, or choose any of the Color Mirror options for an additional fee.
I am still holding a promo for this, so all orders will have $5 off on the color options.
Did these catch on? I bought one from you like a year ago, but I haven’t built it yet since I took a long hiatus from fighters. It’s legit though, I’ll be sure to post pics once I finally get it put together.
It’s an excel spreadsheet with some key sections to fill out.
Fill out your Name and Email.
Go through the list of parts, options, and Color choices. Images are to the left to identify each part. Make sure to read the descriptions.
In the “Options” column, the Top panel and Front panel piece will have a drop down menu where you can select a preset of configurations. Just click on the column and there should be a drop down arrow on the right.
In the “Color” column, there will be a drop down menu to select the available colors for each piece. Just click on the column and there should be a drop down arrow on the right.
If you are interested in Artwork and Plexi cover to go with the case, Enter that request in the “Additional Notes” section of the form.
Once the form is completed, save it, double check it, and email me and add that as an attachment. Subject line should be “Tek-Mini Order”.
I will review the form and provide you a final quote (or ask more questions first).
Once you approve the final quote, a Paypal invoice will be sent to you, and your order will be completed relative to your form options.
The starting price on this case is $52 for an all clear case, with all the necessary screws and rubber feet. Additional costs will depend on the color selections
Orders will be fulfilled within the normal time frame of 10-14 days. I am rushing full speed to fulfill holiday orders, so It’s very possible it can be done before that. But, that’s still the standard in which we’ll be operating.
Due to time constraints, I can only accept a limited amount of Tek-Mini orders, and there will not be any additional customization outside of what is currently available on the form. Artwork and Plexi covers are still an option. But requesting a completely different button layout, other than the options on the form, at this time will not be available.
If there are any issues with the form, please email me with an appropriate Subject title about the Tek-Mini.
If there are other items you want to add, please include it in the Email. (ie: JLF Plexi mount, TE or Hori products, etc).
For those wanting 24mm as their main buttons, add that detail to the “Additional Notes”
Link updated, and also found in the above instructions.
Hard to say how well they’ve caught on as I only took in a limited amount of orders before I closed things off. But, I have been getting occasional requests, so there has been continued interest. I’ll eventually add them to my new site. For now, this is the quick method of taking orders. Glad you liked yours! Looking forward to pics.
I don’t have a set time in mind on when to close this off. Will play it by ear on the requests and available time. Right now I had some projects on hold or moved off my plate which freed up some time for me to concentrate on this.
Sorry I wasn’t very clear. Since I didn’t start this thread my initial set of instructions and link was on the 2nd page. I’m re-posting the instructions above with the new link. Thanks!
Great to see you offering these again Art! I will put my Tek Mini V2 together this weekend and post some pics. I must say it feels like a tank construction wise.
@arthong Do you have a pic with how each color would look like? I am about to send over an all-clear order but i would like to have the bottom panel stick out a bit. thanks!
Just to throw in my 2 cents here, there are 4 screws on the top, 2 of which my hands would be resting on if it weren’t for the slant(hitbox config). This is only my initial observation since I haven’t put the stick together yet, but it appears as though the slant prevents that while it’s in my lap. If the slant didn’t exist, I’d definitely be looking into adding lower profile or recessed screws.
