Ibuki Q&A Thread: Ask simple questions here!

heh nice, am readin this now actually

I am curious to know why it’s not common to see a chain combo into U2?

Dude, SC2 is the shit! It’s a shame because I’ve been spending all my time playing that instead of SSF4. Ugh, both games demand so much time and both are so much fun.

What?

I’ve watched a decent amount of matches online, and i haven’t see too many people sjc their links/chain combos into ultra 2. I was wondering why that was. Sorry if there was any confusion from my last post.

There’s your problem. Most people online suck, never mind know how to SJC anything.

Lol…by online i meant the ones posted here on the srk video thread. And i’m not saying i can’t, or that i personally don’t, do it. I am just asking why i haven’t seen it in matches more often posted by momochi, sako, dashio, deviljin, and random recommended vids on the thread i mentioned earlier. Not to say i haven’t seen it, but i would imagine that people would pull it off with any c.lp + hit confirmed combo.

o yea, sry to double post, but i was looking at frame data, and realized that mk tsumuji adds +1 to hit adv, which allows people to use c.lk as a one frame link. Am i interpreting the frame data correctly? cuz if that’s true this leads to another question: is there a source that shows how much push back each move has on characters? cuz i know the push back on c.lk, is really low since i can do two c.lk and kara throw after in comparison to other moves.

The general consensus was that SJC U2 is useless since the scaling was so high (eg: kunai , TC4 xx SJC U2). Unless it will definitely finish your opponent off, you’re better off just doing a neckbreaker and vortexing. Not to mention your opponent is sent flying to the opposite side of the screen while you slowly recover, denying any sort of followup vortex or heavy pressure.

There was a huge discussion on it somewhere but the Ibuki forums isn’t very organized.

thanks for the quick reply mango. btw plz disregard the comment about the frame data. found out that mk tsujumi pushes them back too far to actually combo c.lk after

Hehehe, MangoDynasty

I’ve seen Momo use SJC before in casuals, I haven’t seen any new Ibuki matches from him in a while though.

He did c.mp to U2 somewhat as a hitconfirm/punish. c.mp starts up 1 frame faster then U2 so Momo could’ve just U2’d and it would’ve hit.
Also fyi. I sjc to U2 all the time. I like the corner game.

Is there an easier way to SJC > command dash from cr.hp? I do it like :d::hp::u::d::df::r::lk:/:mk:/:hk:

You don’t need to super jump in order to JC from c.HP. c.HP is both a regular jump cancellable and super jump cancellable normal. Just like her LP, MP, c.HK, HK chain. So just do a tiger knee motion (d,df,f,uf) as soon as the c.HP hits and press K. Don’t worry about super jumping first.

Oh right, thanks DJ.

What is the best way to punish Jesus Kick without meter

In some matchups I obviously need to use u1 but
I can’t consistantly land it any tips? On landing u1 like after block strings or something

Keep it buffered.

Thanks mingo another question: will plinking help me pull off the .c.lp c.lp s.lk s.mk into kazegirl combo better?

I can do it like 70% of the time in training but I drop it only in Matches and get jabbed out or whatever also I am using jumping lk as a crossup but i’ve been playing around with jumping lk>mk target combo. Is that better? Or will it scale the damage? Thanks for any help.

Sidenote getting used to the stick sucks! But her combos are so much more fluid and easier to pull off now. It’s just the basic stuff that screws me up…like throwing a mid air kunai from 1p side is a pain in the ass it won’t come out consistantly for some reason…but on my pad that wasn’t a problem at all lol practice I guess will help.

What are you plinking?

What are you getting jabbed out of?

It’s alright, but how often do you really get to jumpin on your opponent? Better than what? Yes the j.MK scales damage, but it depends on your followup combo if the scaling is even noticeable.
