What can I do after F+lk? For now I just go into TC4 and cancel into anything
f+LK xx tsumuji.
Ty sir
It’s just a bit of reading for me now cuz my 360 is dead, but I want to practice this lol
I made a new topic for this question but I guess I was supposed to ask here so I am going to copy and paste it.
I really like her as a character, probably my favorite in the game, so obviously I want to main her.
I am not very good at this game and I was told it would be hard to play Ibuki but I liked her and decided I would stick with it.
So I did her trials, got up to level 20 which I was pretty impressed with and thought I would do pretty good with her.
The problem is everything I really know with her is a TC into special or ultra. The problem I am running into is I can’t land my TCs on people because they are constantly crouching.
And I don’t really have an offensive move to spam to keep pressure up.
So lately my matches have consisted of me blocking while I wait for an opportunity to land my TC into Special/Ultra and it usually ends up with my small health pool getting picked away and I end up jumping around like an idiot until I die.
Anyone have some suggestions to help me start winning matches or at least make me feel like I am competing?
If you want something you can just spam at people that aren’t good u can either spam them with f+MK or c.LP. Both lead to combos after they hit and f+MK especially keeps them off the low block. Good players will be able to jab out or block the f+MK on reaction if u use it too much but especially if you’re just playing online that’s probably your best go to thing as something to just braindead spam and get some hits in with.
Though that’s probably the main reason why you’re losing. You’re not really thinking about anything and the whole point of playing a character like Ibuki is that you must think and know about every option you are capable of and pick the best one. It’s hard to explain in a single post so it’s best that you read up on the different things Ibuki can do and watch videos. Definitely read everything on the first page of this thread and watch every video you can.
It’s not that I want something to spam, it just that is what I am used to. For example with Ryu I am able to spam Hadoukens to keep pressure up. I understand that Ibuki is different kind of character and I need learn how to use her properly.
Ryu’s fireball is more of a poking tool, not really a pressure tool.
Has anyone messed with Kazegirl xx into super? Hien into super isn’t going to last forever. It seems the timing is different per character and some is just dam near impossible. Messing with TC4 xx kazegirl xx Super.
Too much scaling to make the super useful, unless the extra damage finishes off your opponent.
Its better I land it then just hold on to it forever. Only other way I’ll land it is off a stun or close roundhouse sjc Super. Hien is unsafe and its not gonna work forever. Trying to land it this way might end up backfiring to much
Hien is not unsafe if you’re cancelling it into super.
So thats chip. Good chip yes but cancelling from kazegirl or close roundhouse does 100 times more damage then that.
10 times more? Maybe. 100 times more? No. You’re never ever going to be doing hk.kazegiri straight to super. cl.st.HK, maybe. Chances are you’re going to be doing it off a vortex setup (kunai starter) and/or from TC4 hit confirm.
I’ve been doing it off TC4 but its very iffy. Timing is very different per character. Tried it on like 5 and it’ll whiff seemingly no matter what on some.
Not sure if this has been asked yet but how useful do you guys find her launcher resets?
by launchers i mean close HK, TC6 and TC8. I have been messing with the SJC Kasumi Gake on each of them and have got to the point where i can execute the SJC consistently (with every special as well). However, I have been unable to test them thoroughly in matches yet due to my shitty interwebs and a lack of offline matches this past week. I would like the opinions of my fellow ibuki players on these launchers so I can enhance my own testing. Thanks.
I use them sparingly for mixups and to keep the pressure on, especially if they’re blocking.
Is it possible to vortex Rufus when he has meter? I was playing Ina tourney the other day and was sent to the losers bracket cuz I kept trying to vortex him and the kunai wasn’t landing he kept doing ex version of the kick move he has. Sucked cuz I was beating him I just didn’t know the matchup at all.
Maybe it’s just strict timing? Idk

React and punish with neckbreaker?
Rufus is one of those characters like Cammy or Honda where the correct way to vortex them is to force them to whilff their reversal and then punish it with another move to re enter them into the vortex. Like if you knock down Cammy and try to kunai vortex her a cannon spike will ALWAYS get her out. That reversal pushes her body forward and away from the kunai. Though the catch is that she has just whiffed a special move and left herself wide open to get hit by a HP neck break before she hits the ground. So you hp neck break her before she lands and put her back in. Then of course she can’t keep cannon spiking because if she does she’ll get keep get her neck broken until she’s stunned or dead.
Same idea with Rufus. Go ahead and vortex him. He’ll get out but all you have to do is HP neck break him once he escapes flying in the other direction and he gets put right back in. The only time u completely for sure can’t kunai vortex Rufus is when he has ultra 2 available. Then u have to stick to safe jump cross ups like with a regular character.
