First thing anyone should learn when picking up SF is not to mash DP, regardless of the situation.

I know it’s a golden rule.
Actually you’ve opened my mind:
I was constantly trying to beat those online-low tier-ken always mashing DP researching a 100% succes on execution of the 1frame link c.lp->mp xx ender (actually it comes out 70% of the times) when I realized I don’t need it coz I can miss the link purposely and block the DP to punish him for free.
I have to thank you all, after a period of discouragement I’m starting to see the match under a different pow, I start to react to different situation with the proper moveset (mainly pokes) and i’m trying to pull out some mindgames (footsies?) too. I don’t rely my match only on combo anymore
tnx all you helped me a lot
What is Ruishi Jump?
Wheres the frame data for Kasumi Gaki aka cmd dash
mashing dp in other peoples strings is GOOD, folks… sorry to say but it just is. i mash dp in my opponents strings sometmes and i pretty much NEVER get my shit baited out cause i dont do it very often (like once every 15 or so block strings) tokido was doing it versus sako, and shizza confirmed that daigo does it alot as well, the thing is to not be a scrub and to only do it occasionaly and NOT TO TREAT IT LIKE A MIXUP… its not a mixup, its something you do as a read when you see your opponent going for lots of unsafe strings… you save it for when you really need it.

Mashing 360 is fun-ny. xD
Dime_x is right, doing it from time to time is good when youre opponent is doing alot unsafe strings
Say you know a ryu always does cr lp cr lp cr mk hadoken even on block, you can mash a dp once and he will be more on his toes
heck you can even do ultra or focus or something else, something sanford did with cammy vs daigo
What are some good Bread and Butter combos to start practicing with for Ibuki? im just starting to pick her up and i want to know where a good place to start is.
Also what are her best pokes as far as spacing and zoning is concerned.
and can someone please tell me the timing of s.LP to C. MP?
Thanks

:annoy:Here is a question… why is SSF4 trying to screw me… AHHRGGGHH why do I have the GODAMNED thing set to more skilled and I keep getting people with less BP and less PP what the hell is the critera for more fucking skilled!!!
What BP/PP are you on? There is a good chance that there just isn’t that many people in your range if you’ve got enough of either. Not that it matters really anyway, besides if you’re more skilled then you should be winning against these lesser opponents anyway right? Free points
Impossible. If there’s nobody in your range then you just won’t find any more players, like in my case when searching for More Skilled when I have ~3400PP.
I’ve been looking to see if there is a shortcut to using kara raida with ibuki. I’m not asking how practical it is, just what are some shortcut inputs.
I’m sorry if this was already answered, but i can’t seem to find it.
What is the purpose of the 3k’s target combo?
lk > mk > hk
mk allow cancel into whatever, but if i press hk… the hk don’t seem to allow any cancel, and its really really unsafe. It seems unsafe even on hit!
Thanks in advance to all ibuki players, i’m learning ibuki really fast thanks to all this great work and great threads
I haven’t found much use in doing the HK. LK MK is good for canceling but as far as i know the HK is useless when you could just cancel the MK into a knockdown via raida, tsumuji, or Neckbreaker.
Its a scrub target combo just thrown in for lazy Ibuki players. Most chain combo style characters tend to have a few useless target combos. Just like how Tekken has 10 hit canned strings. Some of them can be useful in certain situations but they uusually are canned by good players for safer strings that lead to more damage.
I don’t think there are any shortcuts. There could be some shortcuts for :hcb: though, like :r::qcb: or :r::df::d::l:
Buffering the directionals before st.MK is out of the question since you’ll get a move besides st.MK, like hammer kick, spin kick, or cr.MK.
When I was in the Salty Suite at EVO, I saw someone use the LK MK HK target combo as a frame-trap set up afterward in a money match. Basically, he would use the target combo as a block string and at the end, he would either go for a throw or a EX Kazekiri. Try to throw/crouch tech, eat the EX Kazekiri.
Not something you really want to incorporate into your game, but I just found it interesting. Maybe use it once or twice to catch your opponent off guard in a tourney match? Lol.
Wouldn’t backdash just get him out 100% safely? Doesn’t seem like you can option select off a throw or kazegiri.
What’s “crouchtech” and how do you do it with Ibuki? Also, what’s a “kara throw”?
Crouch tech = :db: + :lk::lp:
Basically an option select for teching throws. If your opponent tries to throw you, then you’ll tech. Else, cr.LK comes out.
Kara throw is cancelling a normal into a throw. If that normal moves your character forward (ie: Ken’s f+MK) then cancelling it would increase your throw range. The downside is that since you have to cancel it, kara throws are a few frames slower than regular throws.
