Ibuki Q&A Thread: Ask simple questions here!

QFT.

Something funny just happened. I was in a match with DeeJay and he was stuck in the corner at the end of the match. I threw a kunai that LOOKED like it hit the ground, but it was behind my meter bar, and the DeeJay didn’t know so he lost. A new concept? LOL

wut?

Simple question- I’m pretty sure standing jab wiffs on someone after a cr. jab but I’m not sure who, anyone know?

edit- if they’re crouching, of course.

If you’re worried about that, might want to think about getting into the habit of just linking a st.mk after cr. jab.

Try cr.Short into st.Jab. It increases their hurt-box so it works in more instances.

Awesome, didn’t know this was on the spreadsheet already. Thank you.

I’ll do that, though to burn cr. short cr. jab st. mk into muscle memory has made me despise trying to start anything from cr. short… haha

Side note, are you Sir Izuna on gfwl?

Yes I am.

Side-note: ww I played the Number 1 Seth on Xbox LIVE. Yay for 7-3 match-ups.

7 - 3 match-up? Did he just not know anything about Ibuki at all?

I’d say out of my personal experience (RekkaTEC FTW) that Seth matchup is just 5 - 5. It’s basically up to who will be down first. And it’s fun.

He sure knew the match-up, he was just the most auto-pilot Seth ever.

The difference being that Seth needs more mix-ups, and they in general more unsafe than Ibuki’s. Ibuki can start a 50/50 from pretty much anywhere on the screen and she only needs about 2 guesses.

what’s the best thing that changed about ibuki in AE 2012 ? ur opinion plz .

for me it’s the ultra 2 animation hit  .

It’s definitely the improvements to her F+HK and F+MK. Being able to combo off a F+HK is delicious and does pretty good damage.

u can combo from her f+HK just from a counter hit right ?

U1 being noob friendly again.

Yay for shortcuts. “None of that KoF shit.” -Xian

Yes. I find it quite useful against Cody for some reason. Land the knockdown, start the okizeme madness for which he has no guaranteed escape, delicious.

Am I the only Ibuki player stupid enough to do a Tsumuji and end with 1MK / 3MK instead of 2MK? Sometimes I suck when I play with a stick. And I end up (Izuna could see it) doing the third kick in standing position, yaaaay, how useful.

Get practicing.

It helps to release the stick when your tsumuji starts up, and just tap directly down for the third kick. A lot of my Ibuki combos became a lot more consistent when I got into the habit of just letting the stick be at neutral position at the start of combos.

^You’re right, this is what I should do. I’ll spend some boring time in training to get used to it, it’s soo frustrating to lose because I missed such an easy thing -_-

Now I’m able to Tsumuji-loop consistently, to SJC any normal easily, to SJC a cr.LP to U2, but… not to end Tsumuji with a low kick. Lol execution.
