Wait a second, I remember it took me a long to be able to do this. I never understood what was stopping me but I think eltrouble is right, return your stick to neutral before the last kick.
I’ll try that =)
Actually since I got a stick, I’ve always been surprised that the stick’s base support (for a TE) is a square. I’d have expected an octogon, just like Xbox 360 pad, but well, it’s a square.
It’s a Japanese square-gate, which a lot of American players weren’t used to before hand. It’s also why Clockwork had so many execution errors during the MvC2 Money Match.
Otagonal Gates are an American thing I hate them lol. Our Street Fighter (original) Arcade back when I was 3 had a square gate so I never got used to an Otagonal Gate. Although if I was playing Tekken and I couldn’t bring a PS2 pad, I’d try to hunt one down.
At least you’re able to do tsumuji loops to great success. I still have issues landing that st.jab, and my timing somehow gets worse if i try to double tap, or plink it with short…meh. I wish I had your problems, lol. I’m the opposite of you. I’m GREAT at ending tsumujis, but can’t do advanced combos with any consistency.
Yeah, square-gates are the standard for Japanese parts. Octagons feel really weird for me, but for others its awesome having a gate where each corner is equidistant. Hell I’ll even take a circle gate over a octagon. Last time I used an octagon was for playing Smash Brothers, and I’m not going back to those dark days.
You can’t plink st.LP with st.LK. You’ll just get a throw.
Sorry I was thinking about trying to plink cr.shorts. I don’t know why I got that mixed up with st.lp. This is what happens after 24 hours of no sleep.
The timing is hard, just go continuously in training against Abel (my favorite punching ball <3 ) and train train train. When you get the timing, try to do it without the sound. If you can do it right, you are now a Tsumuji loop master.
Okay, question times, just following a FUUUUUUUU session
- How the FUUUUUUU do you stuff Blanka’s electricity? I swear that sometimes I feel like I’d loose to a blanka just mashing electricity. What the hell am I supposed to do?
- How the FUUUUUUU² do you stuff Guy’s Elbow drop except focus? Tried st.MP, st.LP, b.MP, cl.HK, only cl.HK worked once but the timing is too tight to get used to it. Nothing else?
^ - I’m pretty sure I told you cr.Forward stuffs his Elbow.
Anyway just practice your Kunai safe-jumps. Neckbreaker -> Ageman -> sj.Short or sj.Kunai. Don’t go for the short if Blanka has meter to do up-ball lol.
-
Depends on situation. Is he mashing during pressure? I don’t think it’s invincible, so just make sure you don’t leave gaps too large (>=5 frame). You can also bait it by doing a blockstring and then walking back. Due to the hitbox, go for a low hitting normal such as f+LK or sweep, but be sure to watch your spacing as electricity can easily counterhit or catch limbs if you’re too close. Or you can just straight up Raida because that has a pretty good reaching hitbox.

cr.MK. Maybe cr.HP. You can also go air to air with air throw or j.HP, but this requires good reactions and puts you at risk of Izuna drop (Hey Izuna, you should play Guy and spam this move). You can also dash or command dash under and then go for trip guard.
I spam this move enough in Dead or Alive and sometimes in Virtua Fighter. It’s a lot cooler (and OP) in both those games.
How do I spot a geek? When I tell someone my name and the reply: “as in Izuna Drop?”.
Although lol, went to a mate’s house and his little sister had a game on DS called Izuna Ninja or something, and it had a busty pink haired girl on the front. Apparently when he was telling his sister about me that’s what she thought I looked like.
Thx guys
@Mingo: He is mashing electricity when he is putting me in pressure.
What I don’t get here is that, if he is continuously in electricity mode, I feel like all the normals I tried will just loose to electricity. Doesn’t he have any hurtbox while he is electrifying? So sometimes he puts me under pressure, then ends his string with electricity, and continues it. So I try something. And I loose to it. Rageragerage.
I’ll try against guy.
Just to be clear, please explain me Izuna’s way of speaking about the moves. Forward = MP? I often see forward, strong, roundhouse without even being sure aout what is what ^^
You mean how do you spot people that play a lot of Ryu Hayabusa games?
You mean that lesbian anime girl and then something about ninjas?
:lp::mp::hp:
:lk::mk::hk:
[J][St][F]
[Sh][F][R]
Jab; Strong; Fierce
Short; Forward; Roundhouse
Blame my ex-girlfriend/best-friend for this, who consistently corrected me everytime.
I had a Japanese guy who met me for the first time, say: “do you know Izuna Otoshi?”. To be fair, it’s in so many different Japanese media (including Naruto) that I think just about every type of geek would have heard about it. I use to get offended when I like 15 lol.
Oh sweet there’s a lesbian anime girl based on me. We have a similar taste in partners it would seem.
First, you need to realize what situations he is mashing electricity, and what he is doing afterwards. For example, when getting pressured, is he doing electricity > hop > string xx electricity > hop > etc.? If so, you need to realize that while electricity gives lots of frame advantage, it’s not a true blockstring and you can mash, backdash or jump out, etc. It creates the illusion of pressure when in reality, it’s only working because you’re too afraid to do anything.
Next is when he’s whiffing electricity in front of you, WATCH YOUR SPACING. You don’t want to do something like cr.HK too close. You’ll just get hit out of your startup. This is where 3rd Strike training may come in handy. In 3rd Strike, you generally want to use your normals at max spacing or not at all.
Going back to his hitbox, consider this picture:

"Electricity hitbox. The regular version of Electricity only has a hitbox at Blanka’s head, but because the hitbox spread over the front and back, even if you do a low attack up close, you’ll get hit."
Idk wtf Izuna is saying, but jab/strong/fierce corresponds to LP/MP/HP. JSF and SFR is the classic notation for the punch normals since like the days of ST. Short/forward/roundhouse corresponds to LK/MK/HK.
Example:

I was about to say Naruto. Rock Lee’s main technique is an Izuna drop. It’s not only Hayabusa-specific.
I guess you like lesbian girls fondling your boobs too, amirite?
Oh, nice pic, I didn’t know the origin of this notation =)
Okay, so basically I’d have to hit blanka low, at max range. This is what I thought. Also, electricity -> hop isn’t a blockstring? Nice to know.
I really want to get done with this character. I hate him so much that just listening to his music makes me nervous when I play -_-
IRL fondling of breasts actually causes pain, so no.
Rock Lee is a plagiarizer. Instead, he calls it Front Lotus. http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Front_Lotus
Master your vortex timing and you’ll make most Blankas rage when their brainless shit gets punished with untechable knockdowns.
When Blanka’s down, I often win.
The problem in my case is to get him down. I don’t know what to do when he starts attacking.
So it’s Front lotus in English? They call it literally “the Lotus flower” in French. Translations are fun.
