Ibuki Player Guide (book)

**Okay for people who are asking me how to do Ibuki’s Unblockables, look at the Cubes! This is something I was going to leave for the Ibuki PLAYER GUIDE Rev.3, but too many people are asking.
**

In the video I start by doing an instant jump-forward, into st.MK xx Neckbreaker. Look at the video and try to make Ibuki’s feet touch the black line. This is the spacing. The timing is different between the two Unblockables, but you should be watching where Ibuki hits in my video to get the timing right.

I did what you said, and I did 3 unblockables in a row on akuma LOL leading to a stun and motempest, but forgot to sjc cause I was so happy :stuck_out_tongue: Therefore, I lost my perfect D:

Are you sure the Akuma player wasn’t simply trying to mash out of it and failing his inputs?

awesome haha
Great stuff!

Hey guys, first time posting here.

So, a few days ago I was trying to download this book, and the links we’re all sending me straight to the 4shared main page.
So I decided to email Izuna and ask for them directily from him, and then he asked me to post the answer here.

"I’m very sorry mate, I’ll upload the .pdfs to you.

I had a pretty bad experience recently and I’ve now dropped Street Fighter, so with that I deleted everything to do with it. If you could post this stuff on SRK explaining why the link is down that would be helpful, as I can’t sign into my account anymore.

I’m very sorry."

As I can see, the links are working now, since he reuploaded them…
Anyway, just came by to post this.

See ya later,
Leo

I’m posting this message here because I got a PM from someone, and it’s information relevant to all of you:

Q: “How do you master the High Jump cross-up Kunai?”

A: Most of the cast have similar wake-up times, and the common one is shared by Ryu. What you want to do is practice in Training Mode against Ryu that is repeatedly doing HP Shoryuken, until you can make him juggle with the Kunai.

Elaboration: [details=Spoiler]

  1. Go into Training Mode
  2. Choose Ibuki, and then Choose Ryu
  3. Press Start, and change the CPU to Record
  4. Mash HP Shoryuken over and over (preferably you should turn off the Super Combo meter do you don’t get Shinkuu Hadouken)
  5. Press Start, and change the CPU to Playback
  6. With Ibuki, perform a Neckbreaker on Ryu (it doesn’t matter which one)
  7. Practice waiting a short moment, then doing the sj.Kunai

–. If Ryu hits Ibuki, or he flies past the Kunai, you’re doing it wrong. You want to get Ryu to juggle, like he bounces off the ground.[/details]

Q: “Online is stressful, any tips?”

A: Realise that losing doesn’t mean you got nothing from the match. If you lose to a laggy Blanka, you can still learn to not fight the same Gamertag again. If you lose due to match-up inexperience, you can post the video on the Critique Thread for help. Whether you win or lose, there is something to be learnt from each match. Take every match in isolation, and don’t worry too much about playing for PP. If you can’t help yourself, try Endless lobbies.

Elaboration: [details=Spoiler]
You’re not doing yourself any favours if you don’t take enough time to think before playing another match. If you’re still mind-fucked from a loss, don’t play again. You should only hit “retry” if you have something new to try.

Continuously playing Street Fighter is addictive, but if you don’t give your mind a chance to think, you’ll just be piling new information on top of the other and you’ll never learn anything. Similar to all aspects of life, the plan is so that when you struggle with something, you try to make it part of your long-term memory. This allows your mind to solve it for you as you sleep/rest. Learning frame-data and the mechanics of Street Fighter will help you come up with solutions.[/details]

THE MISFITS WENT BACK IN TIME OH MY DAYS! cough
You all should give this show a try, if you like British television that is.

Off-Topic … I’m english and love english TV, some of my favourite shows are english (Doctor Who, Inbetweeners, My Family etc)

On-Topic … Those are some good tips, I have a habbit of just hitting retry, getting more raged, retrying again and basically doing worse and no doubt reinforcing bad habbits. Maybe as a rule of thumb i’ll play one, lose, wait 5mins or try something in training then go again!

Off-topic: My Family is amazing! High-five!

On-topic: The best thing in life is learning from your mistakes, don’t let anyone take that from you. =)

Okay, I’ve managed to get the raw files of my mate. I’m re-uploading this, but the quality isn’t as good this time around. I have no idea how she made it look so smooth haha.

…やめてください.

thank u

You’re welcome. =}

The Ibuki PLAYER GUIDE video Ref.1 has been taken down due to Capcom’s changes to Ryu’s Fierce Shoryuken. I will create a new video which covers everything at the same time I upload the Rev.3 (book).

… And I thought that video was future-proof.

any release date of Rev.3 guide???

Got some strange things figured out!
I had a fight against ryu last day and he get sucked into the kunai vortex (sj. kunai after neckbreaker)
then i do over and over TC.4 > neckbreaker and everything was fine.
but after the 3rd sj. kunai he mashed U1 and it auto corrects and hits me! I was like Oo
Could it be that ryus U1 has even more invincibility frames cus this guy figured out that he can mash successfully u1…
I know that my timing was correctly and i saw in the replay channel that this guy was DP mashin the $*&! out of his stick.
He catches me 3 times with this ultra in my vortex…i just stay cool and whaited for my chance to land a tsumi/neckbreaker to give hin the rest!

Could it be that people mashin’ even more when they fights against ibuki than against other characters?
Just that ryu player was solid until i got a knock down, so the vortex begun…after 3 fights he was just mashin…no combos, no mix up, just random trash-play
When i was cornered by this guy who player ryu, he mashed 4 lp.dps out in front of me and so i try to escape out of this mess but the 5th lp.dp catches me with a following super :frowning:
After this awesome experience i was kicking this random-guy out of my lobby!

I’d say you just did not get the timing right.
I’ll try it in training, but I played a Ryu yesterday and stuffed his UI wis my sj.kunai, so well… wrong timing for you =)

it always happens to me but ryu is not the only one ken, oni, dan, akuma and sakura :S when i watch the replay the mashing is unbelievable :stuck_out_tongue:

So long as F-Word makes it to my event on Sunday or Mingo/littlesushi/Saunic give enough impressions on ver.2012 Ibuki, I can have it out by next weekend. I have planned for it to refer to a video, so that’s why I can’t just type it all out.

It may as well be the last guide for Ibuki, so I have to make sure it’s good. It’ll be just in time for Christmas, or to put it simply, 2012.

If you time your Kunai Vortex right, Ryu cannot punish it with Metsu Hadouken. What you’ve done is thrown the Kunai too late (~2-frames) so Ryu was able to turn around before doing a Reversal as Ibuki was on the other side during his wake-up. The idea is to have Ibuki on the same side during their Reversal window, so that they can’t auto-correct.

I do believe your timing is off. As long as you probably space out your kunai with proper timing, his reversals shouldn’t auto-correct and hit you, and you’ll be allowed a free punish. Be sure to have the kunai hit in such a way that Ibuki is still in front of Ryu when he reversals. And lower-level players often mash out of the kunai, but it will only help teach you to keep your vortex safe, otherwise everyone with a DP is going to land a free hit.

And if he’s mashing out DPs randomly in front you, you have to punish that on reaction and escape the corner. You might have felt that this guy was random, but if he’s winning matches against you, then a loss is a loss, and you should have to learn how to combat it.
