Ibuki AE Changes

ima try to make it out to the arcade tomorrow. i dont plan on being an arcade regular cause i have no job… and honestly AE feels the same as super if you can believe it. but im also interested in ex dash and if its possible as well as just learning more, i still dont know if crossup kunai got buffed or not or if my opponents were just being idiots and holdng up or missing reversal backdashes and stuff ( you have no idea how many people just spazz out and dont even try to block or do a move… they just panic) i have my doubts that its as good as it was working… but i can only go by results and one day of results had me landing them with like a 60% effinciency or even slightly higher… which is unheard of for me.

i also figured out why i had more pressure… it was because my frame traps were working with more consistency. new st.mk is really nice as is new cr.lk. buffs to these moves really pumps up ibukis close range offense imho, also since jumpback kunai doesnt corner ibuki nearly as much, i was actually able to turn that into offense at times when it would have just reset tempo. i, like motempest, at least for now see her jumpback kunai as a buff if used right.

anything else anyone wants me to try out at the arcades… i cant promise anything but i’ll try.

Dime- see if nb to normal whiff to sj set ups/cross up/non cross up works.

Also back throw and ex nb to lk or mk command dash ambig cross ups.

Like, how does her vortex feel to you? Is it the same? Better, what do you think?

In this vid… I see the new TC being used in a match. Definately useful against FA’s.

i can tell you that everything felt the EXACT same except for neckbreaker mixups which have been changed and her traps seemed better. specifically i dont know if ibuki can sj lk crossup off of breaker anymore… more than likely yes, i just didnt do any cause i dont use breaker that much plus the kunai mixup from breaker was working so well that i was like fuck it, im just rolling with this shit.

i will definitely try out dash mixups after back throw and and ex breaker next time im there though.

-edit… oh snap sweep target combo didnt launch ryu right there cause the sweep got absorbed… hmmmmm…

these vids were taken last night of motempests ibuki in action for the very first time in AE (and im also in there getting trounced)
these arent of his 18 game winstreak where he really seemed to turn it on, even i was impressed at that cause he was doing shit that ive never seen him do. the crowd was hype watching him.

unfortunately these are the first 3 vids where we were still getting used to the speed and controllers and new shit, watch me fuck up a st.mk into breaker and instead get a forward superjump (lol)

Thread too long to read through but when are we supposed to get an AE release for consoles? All this AE talk is pointless for people like me that have no AE arcades within like 150 miles.

hmm u live in RI dude right? and yah good question! i seriously care less bout the arcade…me need console! though it’s gonna take a while! atleast not before March or something(if of course not more)…marketing baby

I don’t think there was ever a clear answer confirming AE for consoles yet…I think the closest we got was that Capcom is now interested or considering one since we’ve last heard from Ono and the other guy(Sven-something something)…

If you guys don’t care about the ae changes…then don’t open this thread. Easy.

Holy crap! Her hk command dash is DEFINITELY faster and her ex hien looks faster too.

It seems like she is a faster character overall now in general. Its like they took away her dmg output just a bit but gave her a whole new sense of speed on the ground. Also I’ve heard her st mk feels god like now from a few random people. I would say that her ground game looks overall better now and her retreating kunai could help make her better…not worse.

I always wanted her to fall faster because I would always get hit by projectiles after doing a retreat kunai. It seems like this game is less projectile campy. I hear one of the big reasons as to why projectile characters are ass is simply their ex meter build. It sucks now.

nah dude dont worry…100% they will release it for console! it’s a diffenate …though, when exactly, that we dont know ><. if something like that happen(what u mentioned), then it’s first of it’s kind in history of any arcade/ video game…and that will actually wont be as much successful as consoles release due to a lot of stuff marketing, profit, business investment and customer satisfaction reasons.

We do care about the changes, but what’s the point when we can’t even play the game yet, or it’s not even released (to consoles) yet. It’s like hearing about MvC3 matchup discussion when the game isn’t even out yet.

I would say it’s hard to say which one would be more successful in Japan, were the pros still playing in arcades when Vanilla was released on consoles? I remember gameinn started to appear when SSFIV came out but that was only because it was exclusively on consoles. Other than the multiple arcade locations around Japan, the only incentive I would believe in playing in Arcades is best out of 5 for the standard credit of a game(100 JPY?). It would be unlikely to see AE DLC released earlier than May(SSFIV) but if so, many more EVO attendees will have a good amount of time to practice for the event(being that it’s one of the biggest tourneys in the world).

I don’t think Capcom would have any problems with AE DLC seeing how SFIV was considered obsolete the minute SSFIV hit the shelves, didn’t it meet Capcom’s expectations and more in sales? Sure there were many people complaining that it was a disc release, I was but I knew the game would make up it’s worth and bought the Collector’s Edition…and eventually got the 360 standard edition(that and got 2 sticks as well eventually).

that after image after that ex neckbreaker was cool lol

What’s the point placing a comment just to complain? See? I can be silly too! =)
(I’m just kidding.)

Had a few lovely games with a Dictator from France; I’m gunna be so happy with the new framedata for this match-up!

@syn13: It’s hard to play local in Japan, so yeah, they still played Vanilla at the Arcades.

EX Hien does look faster indeed. Should be easier to utilize to escape corners and what not now.

Also, those vids, I see you guys using her normal kazegiri. Did they give it some invince frames or something?

Just realized how her going straight down after Kunai will make punishing it with Neckbreaker not as easy. Can’t wait 'til I get my hands on this machine though! =)

Well done :-]

Yeah the jump back kunai nerf is technically a buff for my more aggressive ibuki. If the spacing on neckbreaker makes her kuani crosses more ambiguous then im all for it.

Really stupid that EX lunge punch is safe on block. It was safe on block in 3S because in 3S once u got good at the game u could parry it down on reaction. Especially since in that game most people used Genei Jin which meant he could only do it once or twice a round. In this game it’s just gonna be herp derp nonsense…

I’m looking to this new ibuki. any word on how the bison MU has changed if at all?
