Anyone playing with Ibuki in OE?
I’m trying to learn her but never played her 3rd strike version before–definately different than SSF4s
timing seems slower or something to me dunno.

I play Ibuki in OE.
I use 3S red/purple/black Ibuki and 2I white/pink Ibuki. I exclusively use pink Ibuki in ranked matches because she goes super saiyan when she’s in pink. You can tell because she has blonde hair. You need all the power you can get in ranked, so you should always use pink.
3S and SSF4 Ibuki are pretty different, yes. SSF4 you tend to rely on vortex, option selects, and big combos to get your damage, whereas in 3S you’re working more off conditioning and mixup/pressure game. I’ve never been a person who’s good at long combos since my execution is trash and I highly dislike the concept of vortex, while I love footsy and mixup play, so 3S Ibuki is great for me. One noticeable difference in her two incarnations is that in 3S her normals are great and in SSF4 her normals are iffy. She also has access to a lot more target combos, which is wonderful for making things that much more confusing (especially in a game with parries).
I suggest going with SA1, by the way. All that EX is amazing. You can do some dumb aggressive stuff with her when you have access to so much EX. Her normals are almost all relatively safe. Also s.mk xx EX tsumuji does great damage and gives you a good bit of time to get over to their ass so you can keep up pressure. Throw EX kunai just before you land on their heads (as long as you don’t expect a DP) and you can combo away on them for some great damage/stun.
Idk, there’s a million tips and bits of advice about her. SRK 3S Ibuki wiki has a tooooooooooooooooooooooon of info and even just the first page of Ibuki forums here can really provide you with some solid information. I know since I read the first two pages through like 2-3x in the past year along with that entire wiki page. I know it’s a lot of reading, but trust me when I say that reading up on 3S can do you worlds of good. There’s a lot of game and metagame info to 3S and there’s no reason to force yourself to learn it all the hard (hardest?) way.

Set your color palette to the “2I” colors for Ibuki and then hit fierce punch at character select.

I wouldn’t mind being in some sort of Ibuki room, I’m new to the game but I want to learn. Reading all the threads on SRK is nice, but being able to practice this info with people who won’t kick or leave the room suddenly is great too.

Playing Ibuki like she’s from SSF4 is a terrible idea, hahaha. Look up Aruka/Higa vids if you want to see some crazy Ibuki play. There are also quite a few videos in ParryAll’s Official 3rd Strike Match Vids topic in the main 3S forum. It’s pinned, though you may need a nico account to watch a good portion of the vids. YouTube has some good ones, though. Check out TheShend’s channel and do a search for those two Ibuki players.
My first matches I was trying to cross up with lk, and then follow with cr. jab 2x into standing mk then a neck breaker or back kicks. smh
I also tried to do Kunai vortexes. smfh
