IaMP - Immaterial and Missing Power - Touhou Suimusou - GGPO-style Netplay

If it’s a tutorial vid you really should put the notation in there.

I understand it’s in the sidebar but I think it should always be in the video.

:stuck_out_tongue:

You probably have ghosting issues with a keyboard. Test it by holding down both shift keys and typing out “the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog”. The more letters missing, the worse your keyboard is.

not everyone is rithli

Here’s some vids of very high level American play.

If you can post it on the sidebar I’m pretty sure you can just put it in the video.

Just having it there on the bottom helps really.

Ikusat did it, so did Spooky.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Editing in notations is a pain in the ass. I’d rather use youtube’s ghetto ass annotations than tracking down another program that offers and easymode way to do it and then jumping through an extra hoop.

Actually how about you volunteer to do it, instead of just pointing out that it’s missing?

I don’t see why you’re getting offended.

I mean regardless of how it’s done the result is a positive one.

made a better one…!!!

E QUIK BROWN FO JUPS OER HE LA DOG

Yeah, I got ghosting issues alright. That explains why I was having trouble with jump cancelling.

I’m not getting offended, what’s wrong saying some one should offer to help out? I see it like this: “This is missing something, how about I offer to help out” instead of “This is missing something, you should add it”. I think if he already decided not to put it in that probably means he didn’t want to do it himself for whatever reason, and all I’m saying is that I can relate to that because I sure wouldn’t have wanted to add it either.

Well I’m talking from the point of view of the audience this tutorial is meant to help, not a critic of the video in general.

Hell, I’ll put them in but I have no software nor prior video editing expierence. If you want to help in that regard I’ll recipricate the kindness later on.

You should have shown off your Reimu to that SWR player.

Interesting, and they call Arcana Heart loli fighters.

Going to start playing this.

The game is fantastic, but I’ve noticed that the offline community is lacking, at least in New England. Does the community have a forum or at least something like dustloop(shudder) for tournament announcements, match making and all that good stuff besides mizuumi.net?

I can edit video and audio. Notations would be the same process as subtitles. It’s a bit of a pain, but I can do it. If you rapidshare the files you need notated or a similar process, I could help out.

There isn’t a central English IaMP site, just the IaMP wiki on mizuumi which also houses the IRC network we use for online matchmaking. The thing is, Bellreisa housed a forum for IaMP years ago, but this was when the community was really struggling so the forums dwindled. Most IaMP related topics can be found on other forums these days (like SRK).

Also, there really isn’t any sort of offline scene for this game yet outside of Japan. Only Japan really runs it on a regular basis. Though there have been offline gatherings for IaMP on both the East and West coast in America, they were relatively small. Small enough that you might as well consider them casual gatherings rather than tournaments. The problem is that, although quite a lot of people play this now, most of them are so spread out across the USA that it’s difficult to get people together. There are some European players, but they are so far spread out that it would be about as difficult – if not more difficult – to arrange a Euro-gathering.

The game’s scene isn’t really large enough yet to support its own forum and such, so the community is housed on IRC and spread through forums for other games. If you’re interested in playing offline, please come to Evo! We’ll be trying to get something going there.

I’m definitely about spreading the love with this game. I play online when time permits, but alas, I can’t really afford Evo this year, since all the expenses are going into permanent housing. Once I’m up on my feet, I’ll house/run tournaments at my place.

It would be pretty interesting to see if offline play can surpass the netplay warriors in this game, lol

Here’s part 2 of my Youmu advanced tutorial. Added notations and a mixup section. Took so long because in the process of making it I realized a few new things.
