Been a few years since I lived in Vegas, but iirc you have 24 hours from the time of activation (which is the first time you use it on a bus).
Will the casino be providing drinking water in the game room? Seems difficult to stop by Walgreens/CVS to stock up as I don’t think there is anything around the Rio.
Yes, it is 24-hours from the time of purchase or activation, not just the rest of that day. Same thin with the 3-day pass -it’s actually a 72-hour pass. And yes, both the Deuce on the Strip and Route 202, which serves the Rio on Flamingo, operate 24/7.
FYI, cab fare is $2.60 per mile plus about a $3 base fee; so for example, the trip from Rio to Insert Coin(s) is about 5.5 miles, so you are looking at $2.60 x 5 = $13, plus the $3 base = $16. Add tip and you are at basically $18-20, one way. Cabs are the same fare though whether there is one passenger or four or five, so going with a group drops the price per person accordingly and makes it a better deal. Generally, you will probably find RTC public transit to be best if traveling alone, or cabs best if in a group.
Flipflop, sorry if I hijacked your thread! I work in the transportation planning industry though so it’s tough for me not to want to answer these types of questions.
If anybody is staying at the rio and is not using there tv, I would like to use it for a couple of hours. We can discuss reimbursement, text or call me at 281-690-0315. Lets GO!
if you are taking a cab from a hotel, there is usually a line of cabs by the hotel lobby waiting, so you dont need to run out there waving your hand like a loon. if its busy there might be people lined up to get a cab and you need to wait a few minutes. but yeah, insert coin is about $20 to take a cab there from rio, so if you can find other people to split it then that will help cut the cost down a bit.
Can you bring your own alcoholic drinks to the different pools at the Rio?
Ok, hard liquor will cost you a pretty penny, that is if your buying actual bottles. cheapest booze is from lees discount or from total wine, pm me we’ll talk more ha
ok if by game room you mean casino floor, then yes… if by game room you mean evo, then also yes. BUT! from past experience i know that the evo ballroom will run out of water quickly, and be without for a matter or 2 or so hours. so if you would like to keep hydrated there are water fountains in the rio (i believe…) and also mini shops (though it’ll be a couple bucks for a 12 oz bottle) so best bet would be a cvs or wallgreens, especially since theres a cvs about ten minutes away
ALSO SIDE NOTE!
As a local i’ll be more than willing to share knowledge/buffet discount/ rides (explain in a sec) with people but theres common guidlines.
buffet discount: i’ll be eating at the rio all weekend most likely since it’s on site, if you wanna join in with me to get a half off buffet cool with me, but i’ll be going at a certain time obviously, if you want to join in for the cheaper stuff pm me for my number and we can correspond through txt. If you do decide to join in have the correct amount on you so things will work out smoother. Numerous times had to deal with that with friends, so just common courtesy.
Now with rides, i’ll be at the Rio Thursday for pre-registration and will also be going to Insert Coins for the pre-party. If you want a lift and are at the rio hit me up, but i only have a four seater so yeah…umm other than that if you have any other questions keep posting i’ll help out as I can
…oh and totally not trying to hijack the thread lol
I’d like to know this, and whether or not the sportsbook is taking bets on these fights as well.
I’m about 80% sure that they will be, from my experience at most casinos in town they atleast takes bets, and wouldn’t doubt they’d show it as well
This thread is awesome, FlipFlop you are a gentleman and a scholar.
See you guys there!
FlipFlop, is there a shuttle that will take me from the airport to the Rio? If so, how much am I paying? If not, then how much would a cab cost?
Hey FlipFlop, I’m driving over from Mandalay Bay for evo. Is there free self parking?
Mig
Might I suggest this thread? It explains your three basic options. Flipflop, if you know the departure times for the Rio shuttle to the Airport, that would be helpful. I couldn’t find them.
Need hooker rates.
Yeah I’m wondering about parking at or nearby the hotel itself as well…
The pool is really nice, I like it, our old guests don’t like it because the music is too loud(lol what?). There is a topless pool there, I can’t guarantee the hotties will be out for the weekend.
You must have a valid hotel key as they swipe to check if your legit, they just put it through a scanner whether the key works or not, as you could have multiple people staying at the hotel…
We do charge a $20 fee for guests not of the hotel who are under the age of 21. If you are 21 & over, you are free to enter the pool.
Yes we offer on-site Dry Cleaning, I can’t guarantee low prices, but guarantee we will clean your clothes, As long as you give your clothes to us before 9:00AM we can deliver your clothes back to your room same day in the evening. If after 9:00AM, we will give you back your clothes the next day in the evening.
Unfortunately unlike in New York or other places, in Vegas you need to get your cabs at Casino entrances. They have taxi-cab lines at every casino, which is very easy to get. To my understanding, to request a cab at a specific spot… let’s say the back of evo in our pavillion area, you would have to call down to a cab service dispatch to get a taxi to you. Taxicab drivers don’t like to lose their spot in a taxicab line to pick someone up, which potentially loses their fare.
According to:
http://vegas.taxiwiz.com/?lang=en
The ride would be $23 including a 15% tip. Unless they ass you out and take a long way… You can split your fare between 4 people as 4 passengers are able to ride.
That is correct sir. If anything lets say you do come in early and we have no rooms available… we will take your credit card info and preauthorize on your card and you just come back for your keys later. Just make sure you let the front desk agent know your requests(be nice! if you are a dick, we will stick you in the dungeon, I have no problem doing that to guests). Don’t ask for something close to the elevator, You are not 90 years old… unless you have a legitimate disability :P.
How will the rio make any money!? No, but in all seriousness no you can’t bring outside drink/coolers into our pool. Feel free to get wasted in your rooms responsibly. Our security team doesnt freak out if you even bust out the red cups on the casino floor, but dont act belligerent and ruin for the rest of the crowd. ( I don’t want any horror stories coming from our security team.)
Unfortunately as of right now, our Sportsbook isn’t even betting the fight. Your best bet is to go to a Station Casino, they always show MMA fights and allow betting, but I am not 100% sure about that. Sorry.
A few people asked about Strikeforce on Saturday night so I’ll comment:
I have no clue on if Rio shows MMA or takes bets on it, but Venitian definitely takes bets and should show the card at the restaurant next to their sportsbook. This is where I usually make my MMA bets. Strikeforce is not on PPV, so if Rio offers Showtime in your rooms or it’s available in one of the booths in the sportsbook, you should be ok. Otherwise, I wouldn’t count on finding a public place to watch a Strikeforce card as opposed to a UFC card. If someone can confirm for me that the card is being shown somewhere and live (Showtime usually delays Strikeforce broadcasts until 10pm pacific…), please post up so I can save myself a trip home to watch the fight.
there is free parking, if you enter from flamingo head right to get to the free parking garage
Internet access in your hotel room? I think you have to pay a premium:tdown:
We have NUMEROUS amounts of companies that will take you to and from the airport.
We have Executive, CLS, Ambassador, Bell Trans, and Showtime. I recommend Executive as they run 24 hours of the day. To and from the Rio is $7 each way. If you come from the airport, you head straight to Baggage Claim and out Door #8. And you will see a booth where you pay for your fare. They take you to the Rio… to get back you call them 24 hours in advance to schedule your shuttle back, please make sure you arrive early back to the airport, as I am not sure if the Rio is last pick up as they might have to pick other guests up at other hotels. Plan accordingly.
The glorious Rio, the reason why the WSOP hasn’t left yet, our parking is unrivaled in the pavilion, it has a huuuuuuuuuuge lot for parking, I’m talking Disneyland sizes. To accommodate our vast convention hall patrons. We also do have 2 parking Garages at each end of the hotel, One near the Masquerade village, the other near the carnival world buffet. Quick Note: Don’t be dumb and leave your shit in your car we are like top 10 for autotheft and burglary in the country.
OH and our parking is free**.
Answered above.
Any fine lass who is in a dress, in heels, drinking at the bar alone, playing on the video poker machine… is not an eligible bachelor. The good ones are the ones you have phone in…
Answered above for our parking.
