Yep. Most of the time I get it is on accident. I need to actually sit down and learn the timing for that.
Thor/Doom has so many tricks, for example you can hard tag doom and continue a Thor combo after of mighty smash M for more damage, it reach 800k meterless after of air mighty hurricane > s.H > smash M > hard tag > Doom s.M > s.S in the corner
Got any good incoming mixups for Thor/Dorm/Doom?
Felicia gets 930k 1 bar with Thor mighty spark assist and builds the bar for Dancing Flash off of mighty punish into kitty helper. She maybe one of the best for Thor to DHC from mighty punish and hard tag from either ground throw.
Couple more Thor/Doom tricks worth knowing:
SJ. Air photon array dhc to Mighty Punish catches a lot of people. If you find they’re in the air when when you dhc, you can xfactor and tk H Mighty hurricane, or just let them block the photons to set up a mix up situation.
If you land a regular air throw with Thor, you can quickly air super, DHC to Doom, then Factor to go into an Otg combo. (Also works with other character).
If you end a simple air combo (just one rep) in the corner, you can always tag in Doom for about the same damage (a little more actually) than an optimal Thor combo.
Well, that last bit about damage is true with Spark assist.

On an unrelated note, I’ve been thinking of a Thor combo with close to 30 mighty strikes (not even kidding Lol). I just have to work out the particulars. I’ll keep you posted.
Is the anti push block common knowledge too? Only reliable attack I’ve found so far is box dash j.S then dash right when your hitting the gound and you’ll be in hurricane range. This is especially good as Thor since I feel like everyone push blocks everything anyway.
Also this isn’t really tech but instead of the quick high low tridash in, wiff an attack and hit them low. NOBODY has blocked this anytime I’ve done it and it adds to the mind games. Of course you can empty dash and hurricane as well.
Also what setups do you guys use on incoming? I only have 3 set ups. Charged M mighty strike + Vergil assist with a falling high low if blocked. Meaty jumping L.M.S.
And if they don’t have air mobility I will medium spark and call assist then grab right when they hit the ground.
And out of curiosity what block strings do you guys use? (This is obviously team dependent.)
I usually end my strings with L spark since if it hits I can confirm and if they are close enough to where the ball of it hits then its like +7 on block iirc. L spark into low (they don’t have time to jump) or a command grab if they have learned to block the low.
I run Vergil and doom so ill call missiles with it sometimes but am fearful that it will be free happy birthdays if someone punishes it correctly (if the ball doesn’t hit.) I’ve also tried some strings ending in a m mighty strike to lead to some cross ups and high low mixups but you can simply be grabbed out of it immediately without the right assist, which I don’t have.
For block strings I often end in l spark and sorta dare them to try and hit me if it’s crouched. Feels nice to grab magneto and Nova out of their slides with mighty punish.
Of course this is dangerous but fun. Ideally I don’t try the direct mode of attack unless they’re blocking my assist, at which point I find it easier to eyeball and react to whether the initial hit connects.
The doom Hard tag combo should netting you over 930k for 1 bar in the corner. If I can hard tag midscreen and get that damage off the dp+m I should try that, I wasn’t sure. I wish the 2 bar extension was easier : (
The most finicky trick of Thor/Dorm/Doom is the unblockable for incoming characters:
6.1) block and fall in flame carpet, but the flame carpet will be in range for it to be multi-hit low, while thor use j.L overhead
6.2) player use pushblock, then thor use dash > tk hurricane
6.3) player take the stalking flare damage, in this case thor can superjump > j.L > spark > Tornado > XF, etc
this is sooo cheap. This makes me think that Thor/Dorm/Doom is more scary on incoming than Thor/Strange/Ammy, sure, Strange can TK eye then hard tag to thor, then thor can use Ammy for more lockdown, but unblockable is unblockable. EOA last 110 frames while flame carpet is active for 119 frames after dorm hard tag, so both are still great mixup options if the opponent player manage to escape the blockstring somehow
Hey guys, how come i don’t see anyone doing a grab reset off of MMS in the corner? when done right it seems as if it is inescapable. I haven’t tested it against people with good air mobility, but if done it alot in fights and the only time people escaped was when i messed up the positioning. If you position it right, back, forward, or neutral teching won’t work and you’ll be grabbed. What do you guys think about that?
I took and x-copied a incoming mixup midscreen from Moons and applied it to Thor. Call Ammy jump and air dash up and mighty strike m. They will land in the cold star will you sail over them to the other side giving you a chance to open them up with they’re in block stun. This isn’t as efficant as Nova performing this with his fast human rocket hyper giving you multiple chances to mix up. Thor will only really get one instance to capitalize of it but its really all he needs.
I have no access to the game at the momen, what’s the most efficient combo thor can do that ends with a hard knockdown? There’s some THC stuff I want to try with Dante.
Other than a flying knockdown or a M Mighty Smash w/ground bounce, you won’t get enough time for a OTG THC with Mighty Thunder’s startup frames.
Damn, I’m probably gonna have to figure out another way to get million dollars to connect then. Either that or put IronMan second for the angled proton cannon.
It’s doable. Just go for 2 reps of the spark loop then end in M. Mighty Smash. Just doing the usual late finish air chain should work too.
