If I had chosen to do the Chaotic Flame instead of the Stalking Flare, this actually would be a 100% combo.
Both Dorm and Shuma could be replaced with another OTG, but the first one has to pop the opponents very high. (Sentinel’s Rocket Punch, She-Hulk’s Torpedo)

that Thor combo is sexy, if only could i find a way to do the third spark L consistently…

actually, its 100% with stalking flare cause you get time to charge and link 1D1C for extra damage. Purification shouldnt be used over Liberation or Dark hole just because you can DHC to stalking flare, use spells and increase damage output with mighty spark assists + dorm dark matter,
purification doesnt really help Thor that much imo

i like that Shuma assist for Thor, did you get any hard tag tech with Shuma yet? maybe something after smash M > hard tag while charging the OTG > OTG, etc

Yeah, I’d have a consistent 1 bar assistless 900k combo if I could find a way to time that third spark. Shame most of the spark loops are very character specific. As soon as I find one I think works well, turns out it’s just consistent on one character -_-.

Dark Hole actually is a great assist for Thor, but I can’t work it into a combo very well. Someone who is great at Resets could probably do great things using Thor (Mighty Spark)/Dorm (Black Hole)/Doom (Missiles). I only really know the typical Thor Air resets and the reset after a Mighty Strike M.

More Thor Ammy incoming mixups!

Corner #1 With proper timing/spacing I’ll call Ammy and Mighty Strike L from normal jump height if I get pushed blocked I’ll air dash forward H if that gets pushed blocked I’ll Mighty Strike L once more and if I’m close enough I’ll tryt and stick in a air L overhead. If THAT is blocked you might have scared them enough to not press buttons to get a command grab or a confirm off the overhead.

Corner #2 Again with spacing and timing you call Ammy and fully charge a Mighty Strike L the armor saves you from being destroyed if your opponent swings on Ammy & You. It hits you can confirm off the strike if they block you two things can happen. You’ll stay in front while Cold Star keeps your opponent in block stun or you end up behind them for a chance to open up with a up down or command grab etc. I use this against mashers helmbreaker dive kick foot dive what have you

ammy + tk strike in the exact moment when a character is coming in is one of the strongest options for Thor. You cannot know if its right or left and its easy to confirm, plus it add another mixup with coldstar lockdown if the player manage to block the first one. People hesitate from pressing buttons too so its good. The stuff that beat this is obviously multihit normals like Doom j.M (can get a free happy birthday btw), but at some heights the TK strike L will outprioritize, it all depends on the timing/spacing.

So is any blocked hit of Emergency Combination>Mighty Punish somewhat a safe way to bring Thor in?

Pretty much any blocked super into mighty punish is safe.

Any player that starts a corner extension with Mighty Strike H this is a reset/mixup that I just started doing off of the opponents tech roll once I let them hit the ground

Start with same as any other Strike H extension in corner. After the H Strike I air dash down back call assist. Which in my case is cold star if the opponent techs back,neutral or forward they wake up into it. You can forward tech and crouch block to avoid the cold star but Thor will be there waiting with a tri dash or command grab even an air L or strike L before he touches the ground again

I imagine this works with other lockish downish assists too.

So I figured out a new relaunch combo with Thor that’s a little more consistent than the usual ones.

I’ve been annoyed for this for some time; I’m not even a Thor player but I want to know what I’m doing wrong with his tridash light. My primary character is Magneto so I definitely know how to tri dash in this game. I can do it no problem with Mags–with all of his normals as a matter of fact. I can tri dash light with Viper. I can do it with Nova. I can do it every few tries with Trish. But I simply cannot do it with Thor. What’s the trick? It seems like it’s a lot harder to get his light to come out before he reaches the ground than it is with Magneto and Nova in particular.

I use pad–my macro for tri dash light is M+H FYI.

Try superjumping your tridash. If that doesn’t work, delay your button press just a tiny little bit.

I doubt anything in it is optimal (I’m not Mr Flubbs) but either way I’d like some feedback.

^ didnt think there could be a Thor team worse than Abegen’s, now i know i was wrong.

I started messing with Thor/Doom-a/Phoenix and I found out you can use tk trap to get SSS extensions off Thor knockdowns in the corner, just do blah blah blah, S, dash back +assist, mighty smash H and then go into extensions. Good way to build a little more meter and get the damage

For all you Thor/Dorm/Doom players out there, I need help finishing a combo

From around Midscreen (for purposes of this combo thor is on mighty smash even if that isn’t the usual acceptable assist)

Thor, Launch, MMH ~ S, Hard tag doom -> m,s j.m f+h s x2, call Thor, h,s (you need to hit the assist button and then the h really close together so that when you hit the S it actually connects and then thor still gets the ground bounce but you keep launch state) then what I am doing is Molecular shield xx finger lasers, DHC to Dorm charge 1 spell, teleport, S to slam them back to the ground… and then Im stuck.

Basically Im just trying to find the max damage after hard tagging doom and got to that point and was seeing if there was anything else I could do to build meter and damage… I know for instance i can easily break 1 million by after doom is done doing foot dives, using j. h plasma + thor, foot dive, j.h plasma beam xx finger lasers xx chaotic flame, and that is probably a bit more damage or even just substituting molecular shield for h plasma beam, but Im trying to use the molecular shield to take them to the right height so i can get the most out of stalker flare. Perhaps there is a way to do it without the launcher install but you can get them to be at the correct height for the stalker flare dhc and then charge 1c1d and then call the meteor (maybe with doom missiles) and then get an extension that way??? I don’t know Im stuck! Lets figure this shit out!
