Really? Huh, I’ll have to check Airtola out, then. I put Dorm on the team since he’s basically the only character I’ve mained since MvC3 came out, but I sort of learned how to make him and Hsien-Ko work together from this Ryan Hunter video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sfj0Z4bp5s (there are some other videos of him playing his Dog/Ghost/Despot team on that account)
Haha, thanks. I actually have some more Chireitou into hard tag combos up my sleeve… maybe I’ll record them later.
edit: ok wow I just checked Airtola out and I have to say he is probably playing Hsien-Ko on point the best way possible (pressure with her longer range normals to say safe, for instance). I have a lot to learn
Got any videos of that? I try to play her on point, but usually I just get literally beamed out and bodied before I can get zoning going on, maybe I just haven’t gotten enough match up exp, I want to play a sound Ko on point, but tired of getting beat out by dumb shyit, part of me wants to point Morrigan on point and play dirty as fuck, but I really want Ko on point.
Well, here’s the Airtola video where he beats Combofiend in Grand Finals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L_TqUefH38
Keep in mind though that this is from around the time MvC3 came out, Combo started by running his Cap/Deadpool/Skrull team.
I’ll try to get some videos of my Hsien-Ko, but I’m not that good, and recording online battles is suuuuch a bitch. Maybe when Ultimate comes out.
As far as beam hypers and stuff are concerned, if it’s Akuma (it’s always Akuma), try to bait them out and super jump, since he can’t angle it upwards. If they have X-Factor, try to run it out by super jumping and doing air dash, senpu bu x3. Ryu is another story, but he’s also less dangerous up close.
Ideally, if you can pin either of them in the corner, you’re in a good place, at least better than fullscreen. Just outside that range is good too, since she has really long normals (5H, 6H, 6M), and Senpu Bu L is tricky to block, can lead into combos. You’ll see at 2:07 in that video an example of (I think) really good Hsien pressure.
Mostly extra post-swords combos, though they do burn X-factor. Check the end for an example of why Hulk is kind of scary with the pendulum assist though, lol.
Good stuff. Chireitou, though slow, is good for setting up followups, it seems.
As for that Kara into Gamma Tornado set up by Pendulum assist, that’s the kind of thing I want to do with Nemesis great range command grabs come Ultimate. I think it could work out pretty well.
Hows everybody finding Hsien-Ko in this game? She seems to be a lot better than before.
With this team, Hsien-Ko ends up being the point character a lot. In later matches which I didn’t record, with Thor on point, Hsien-Ko and PW were like an invincible revolving door of near unstoppable assists. Insane stuff, I got a rage quit from it. :{
I was looking around for Lei Lei videos today and I found this one. Shortly afterward, I realized this was yours lol

Have you been having success with this? Course, you end your combo early, but it’s something nobody’s going to expect, and it seems like it could make going Gold safe if you don’t have DHC meter.
Actually, as useful as it might seem, I haven’t had that many opportunities to use it since it’s kind of hard to time normally and even worse online. I should incorporate it more though, because both Hulk and Dorm can get DHCs off it (though Sphere Flame doesn’t hit, it just buys time/sets up mixups).
And ending your combo with TK Rimoukon definitely buys enough time/space to get Hsien out. But if she’s all you have left… I dunno. Tough choice, but I guess if your opponent has a lot of life left it’s better to do that than finish your combo.
I guess it depends on how you play it, but if you win by powering up those assists and then not blocking, the person you beat has every right to be salty. So, good stuff! I feel like if the team had a stronger character than Thor in the middle it’d be pretty absurd.
Thanks. Although, it would be blasphemy to remove Thor. lol :nono: I like using my favorites{which is why Hsien-Ko’s on the team. But I guess all who are here in the Hsien-Ko forum isn’t using her because she is a fave and not for Tier related purposes. lol
I also found that a good way to get into Rimukoun is to do Hsien-Ko’s long range poke and go straight into the super while they are on block-stun or hit-stun. Like in this vid between 00:39 and 0:43.
Oh no, you should use who you want for sure. I was just saying that with someone like, say… Doom in the middle (great character on point, doom rocks as a good cover assist for Hsien and Wright) it’d be a pretty much untouchable team once it gets going. Hsien-Ko is the only one I have character loyalty to at this point lol
Wow that’s Basically the Team I like to use lol I would use Zero/Hisen-ko/Hawkeye or sometimes have Hisen-ko on point. I 'm experimenting with Haweye in the Team at the moment. (note: I been using Zero/Hisen-ko/Deadpool since Vanilla and it worked great lol)
discovigilante: Hmm, I can see Doom rocks assist being good for allowing Pheonix to safely gather evidence, but just like you, I have character loyalty. {On that note, Phoenix also happens to be a favorite, I played the games a while back. Epic.}
Stersilver92: Zero was a pretty good point character, benefitting from Hsien-Ko’s assist, but now that Phoenix is here, he’s going on the second team for now while Phoenix gets up to speed.
I like how you used IF assist to extend Ko’s combo in the second match. Seems good for her too, because it not only acts as a GTFO, but it wallbounces and allows her to get in/set up Gongs/whatever. I also liked the jump cancel into Gong, then overhead on Nova in the third match. I’ll be taking note of that (you played her well in that match too).
Yea, that one combo with IF’s assist is my personal swag combo, but I couldn’t finish it since I started it with too many hits. I also use IF’s assist for incoming mix ups for a cross up or just abuse it in general whenever I have Arthur out. I treat it like an arcing projectile that causes a wall bounce. That reset I’ve done to Nova was actually an accident. I meant to do the Gong loop combo, but I somehow missed the Cr. H and did a tk Gong for the reset. Weird, but it might be effective on the future.
I was about to say that that TK gong could make for some interesting resets. Probably only on standing enemies… good thing I have Spencer on my team, so I can go for the reset after getting a bit of damage.
