I need help! And a pony! The Deadpool Team Thread!

You can switch up the timing but you want it to be so that they aren’t close enough to the ground to be able to punish your mixip. I call an assist like vajra or sentinel drones right before they come in and then do H guns to teleport behind so i get both the high/low and right/left mixup in there.

I personally never had that mix-up have much success for me for solo deadpool. With assists it’s better but solo eh, not so much. What do you even get if they get hit by the H guns?
In lvl 3 xf I had more success just doing J.mhs land cr.m/J.mh xx bolo , or Just dash raw launcher.

how are you getting Deadpool Doom Strider to work? this team seems godlike for Deadpool, except the DHC synergy to Deadpool -> Doom is pretty weak. With Deadpool into Dormamu I am getting about 930k, but Deadpool into Doom is like only 700k (The DHC adds like no damage lol).

EDIT: Nvm, Quickwork super into Sphere-flame is pretty good damage, but I hate how the super crosses up my inputs

Thanks for the advice. Might start doing that soon. I don’t really like Task as a lvl 3 x-factor character though, tbh.

I’m having a lot of success using quick work with Nova. Jump up and air dash with Nova while calling the assist, if it hits you can confirm with j.H xx Unfly xx cr.M etc. If it doesn’t you’ve still got the dolphin kick. :slight_smile: Also killed an incoming character off of Deadpools taunt into Xfactor. XD

Running storm/deadpool/sentinel – working out really really well except for the normal storm-point problem of damage. I -know- there’s an unblockable reset with deadpool’s quick work assist putting the 2 combos at over 1.1mil (fly loop into knockdown into unblockable reset into fly loop combo into deadpool DHC).

If someone knows how to cover all recovering options for the roll let me know. I’m currently trying to figure out the timing of the assist call but it’s really tight. I think the trick is to space storm back around 1.5 ground dashes, neutral jump, then air-dash forward if they roll backwards+S, or just S if they roll forwards – timing the deadpool assist to hit low at the same time as the overhead. Let me know

Even though I have no plans on dropping Deadpool/Doom/Strider I do like Deadpool/Frank/Dante because it seems like more of rushdown style of Dp team. I was wondering what type of damage you guys are getting out of cart/jam session?

Jam Session scales Deadpool’s combos to shit and eats up a lot of hitstun because it lasts so long. The easiest way to convert from it is mad wheel but the followup has to be kept short because of hitstun. You can reset after the combo or just not even try to convert and catch them with guns after the recover from Jam Session. The main point of Jam Session is to keep people from superjumping at you while you shoot horizontal guns and that’s where it earns its keep.

I’m pretty sure the scaling is terrible on Shopping Cart too. How do you envision using it?

Deadpool/Frank/Dante lacks an assist to let Deadpool do assist + L guns xx teleport, which is pretty crucial to his game.

I was hoping there was a way to extend/end the combos in a way similar to Missiles and Vajra.

Kindafresh, I can make a deadpool/dante synergy video if you need help. I’m actually officially dropping Doom for Dante and playing Deadpool a/ Dante a/ Strider y. It’s working much better. Doom’s assists just don’t work for me anymore. Jam session has applications both for zoning and lockdown, as well as combo extension.

Wedge, do you think Deadpool/Dante/Strider has a damage problem?

I believe what the team may lack in damage, it makes up for in mixups, resets, and zoning. While compared to DP/Doom/Strider it may lose the one-touch kills from the Latverian wonder, however stands a much better chance against rushdown teams and is easier to mixup and reset with. You may not be able to kill from a single touch, but it’s far easier to get a hit in. 2 or 3 little hits are just as good as one big hit, if the little ones are easier to get.

Damage shouldn’t be an issue if you optimize Deadpool’s combos though. You should be able to get an easy 850-900k with an optimized deadpool combo and a DHC to dante. Deadpool HHT into dante’s qcf hyper does significant damage. I’ll put up some of my match footage soon so you can see what I mean.

I’m always interested in seeing tech videos :smiley: I think that Deadpool/Dante might be better against Zero teams (and we’ve got an abundance of those)

Which Deadpool combo are you doing? You’re right about the Million Dollars DHC adding a ton of damage. I do non-optimized combos and get like 800-850k with the DHC. Still, I worry about not having a heavy hitter on the team to finish the plate.

Once I get this team down better I might learn an alt team with Spencer or Vergil in the #2 slot so I can have braindead damage from DHCs.

Taskmaster/Deadpool/Dormammu, what do people think? I have played Task/Dorm in some form forever, and tried out Deadpool to augment them, but damn, this boy’s fun. What do people think? I’m not exactly sure how much use Deadpool gets out of Dark hole, and I’m unsure whether I want vertical arrows for space control or horizontal arrows for teleport craziness.

Seems like you can get some good mileage out of Deadpools Rama assist w/ Tasky. I’ve seen alot of Tasky/Dorm variations, honestly those 2 characters are so strong it’s hard to go wrong.Chris G used Deadpool/Tasky/Dorm on his Fingercramp stuff (although his Deadpool isn’t swag at all) There is very solid damage potential running tasky on point, also after you DHC into Deadpool you have arrows, I think blackhole is nice because it takes up a nice chunk of the screen and causes hecka chip.

Is an OTG (like wesker gun shot) really necessary? I would like to run a Deadpool/Doom(Plasma)/Strider team because I think that can be better than Deadpool/Doom/Wesker (in terms of zoning but also in terms of synergy between Doom and Strider), but I’m worried about the damage.

Yeah, do it. Deadpool doesn’t benefit from an OTG assist all that much. Plus strider is a god like assist.

If you play the Reichan way it helps. What he does is guns to teleport and then because it isn’t actually safe on block, he grabs them if they dont pushblock, and can kill a character off of a grab with how he ends his grab combos.
Grab > Kata/Chimi > dash S > sj.MMHS > Call Wesker > QCF+HxxH+ > QCB+M/H > Cutting time > DHC to Sphere Flame.
I just don’t feel like my old team is strong enough. DP/Doom/Strider the way I played it didn’t work. Maybe someone else can make it work though.

I believe that Deadpool/Doom could work great if you run Deadpool as a TAC character. With Vajra you can do the Vajra + Sphere Flame ender that Clockwork does for tons of damage.
