I need help! And a pony! The Deadpool Team Thread!

O

your right.
k to make simple, you cant skittles into deadpool right? Youre saying do the power up super into deadpool’s super? hmm how effective is that?

Correct! i don’t skittles into anything. That a NO!
Well doom is my User & Deadpool is my assist so i don’t really have to worry about that problem. but if its just zero & Deadpool left I’m willing to make such an exchange.

Fair enough.

Recently switched my team up to Zero/Pool/Nova

I find it works great because all three characters have great synergy. Quick Work covers Zero really well and like Eitra said

so you can get to Pool really easily. Nova’s gravimetric pulse covers Pool while he zones hard, as does Zero’s double hadangeki. Also Nova is a fantastic anchor because of his grown man damage.

I used that same team for a short while, but a different order . I really like Nova’s gravimetric Pulse assist too. It traps the hell out of people
& if used right correctly can prevent people from teleporting behind you. :lame:

I didn’t know that grav pulse did that, thanks for the advice.

Could Trish’s Peekaboo assist work similarly?

It might work for characters that teleport Above & behind you. But I’m not sure if it’ll be as effective for ground teleport characters

All you have to do is walk in front of it slightly. A smart player will probably fall for it once @ most lol. but others wont get the picture till like the 3 time there caught with it.

I’m currently using 1st Deadpool ( Quickwork ), 2nd Doctor Doom ( Plasma Beam ), Wesker ( Samurai Edge )/ Hiryu ( Vajra ).
I prefer using quickwork assist, because it’s easy to set up unblockables with doom. But when having Pool in 1st position, dooms plasma beam is awesome for teleport mixups.

hey everyone, i was just wondering whats your opinions on having Deadpool as anchor?

Well I’ve tried that, and failed… There are other way more effective anchorcharacters, since the only thing you get from lvl 3 xfactor is a slightly dmgboost, speedboost and the quickworkloop. Deadpool is way better of as a pointchar, but that’s just my opinion:)

Hi, i need some advice with my DP team, im currently running pool(quickwork)/Firebrand (fireball)/Strider (vajra), i know firebrand and pool doesnt go well together, but im working on that, the main prupose is vajra to anti air pool’s zoning, and firebrand to prevent wave dash and any close proximity, plus vajra for firebrand let him double dark flame on the most part of the cast.
My main problem is the lack of 2 major points, a good DHC (wich somethimes is incredibly needed with deadpool, to finish ppl off and end a assist punish with HHT), and a better assist with firebrand plays, the one and only is mix up with his instatn overhead and quickwork, no lockdown for his unblockeable, but this isnt FB thread so lets focus on my first problem.
The best way i have to DHC deadpool on firebrand is with
c.:m:c.:h::s: sj follow a.:m:.a:h::qcf::h::h: land :qcb::m: :rdp::m: :h::s: sj follow a.:m:a.:h:a.:s: land :a2:(vajra) :qcf::h::h: (at this point vajra causes hard knockdown in the corner without leting the wallbounce crossing the opp up) :qcf::uf::l:+:m: (TK HHT) :qcf::uf::l:+:m: (DCH on dark flame for full damage).
But this combo end up being waay to situational and lacks of the improvisation of an easy DCH,and i gain positioning at cost of bar and dp damage without extending his combo, if deadpool leaves the oponent a lil away from him DHC into firebrand is completely useless, the damage doesnt worth it, plus DHC from firebrand to deadpool is imposible without loosing more than half of the damage of dark flame, so the best DHC i have is luminous body after any dp hyper.

Somethimes i change firebrand for spencer, witch brings awesome DHC , ending deadpool’s combos over 1 m , but lacks a good assist to help deadpool zoning.

That said, i want to know your opinion if leting my zoning game more based on mix ups and resets worth it, i play fb cause i relly like the char and his playstile, but pool was allways my main.

Right now im testing other ways to stick deadpool and firebrand together, like anchoring akuma, his tatsu help dp and locks a lil for fb, plus i can double DHC any pool combo into luminous ending with goshoryu, or ryu with a weaker assist but multy directional hado for DHC dark fire, same for task.
But at the end i allways felt that i need a anti air for deadpool )8.

Hi guys. I’m new to SRK but I’ve been playing this game since vanilla. My current team is Deadpool(Katana-Rama)/Dormammu(Dark Hole)/Hawkey(Greyhound).

Since this is the Deadpool team building thread I’ll put my questions for my other two mains in their respective threads. My problem with Deadpool is basically which assist to use (I’m using the OTG now but I find the range kind of iffy for Dorm/Hawkeye extensions and my friends having been telling me to give Quickwork a try) and in what slot I put him (I use him on point but seeing some pros put Dorm on point makes me wonder if Dorm is the better point character).

Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks.

I don’t use him anchor but I’m totally fine with it. His teleports, overheads, and throws are more effective which makes it easy to get the quick work infinite.

I use quick work assist with a teleport character and it’s great. With Dorm it seems really nasty and I bet you can get unblockables too.

if Dorm has square-jumps/tri jumps like Dr Doom, then having a low hitting assist is a scary thing since it leads to easy unblockables (i play Spidey, Doom, Deadpool). if your opponent is aware of your set up then make sure your on point with your air throws as well because they will “chicken-block” you as long as you have that assist when you’re trying to apply pressure.

my personal opinion about whos better on point really depends on your match up, so eventhough it may mean more time in the lab, i recommend that you can play both characters on point effectively and have set ups prepared. for example, i usually play Spidey on point for rush down with quickwork assist for unblockables and Doom’s beam, but if my opponent if a highly defensive player, i will put Deadpool on point with Doom missiles to zone them out and force them to come to me.

hope this helps

Thanks for the Info. I tried the Quickwork assist today at the local arcade and it works wonders. Most people here are used to the Wesker teleport + Beam assist so they instinctively chicken block during teleports. But no one suspected the Dorm teleport with a j.S + low assist. They keep thinking I’m gonna do the arrows. I know they will eventually catch up to the trick but I’m loving it. Another setup I’ve was able to abuse today was when I killed the opponent’s point character and have them in the corner. I lay down a flame carpet just as my opponent’s next character just comes in, do a j.M to let them fall on the fire, call Deadpool and do a j.S for an unblockable. Also, I found a way to keep my relaunch potential even though I dropped the OTG assist. Here is how it works.

I combo with Dorm normally and after the air magic series I call Deadpool and do a flame carpet. The flame carpet usually pushes the opponents farther away but for some reason the Quickwork assist flips them back towards Dorm (like a how non-assist Quickwork would) for a relaunch. So my team is now set. Dorm (Dark Hole)/Deadpool (Quickwork)/Hawkeye(Greyhound).

Going to try out some more Deadpool shenanigans on my next lab time but for now I think I’m going to keep visiting the arcade for a while. Hehe.

Hey guys, I am a huge fan of Deadpool and I want to run him on anchor so that I can style on my opponents in tournaments and probably finish them with his taunt.

Can a Deadpool enthusiast give me some justifiable reasons as to why Deadpool is a good or bad anchor? Listing pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.

As for my team I run Spencer, Taskmaster and hopefully, Deadpool.

I’ve been playing deadpool on anchor for almost a year now and he has more to offer there than people give him credit for.
Pros:-Well let’s start with the obvious. Xfactor lvl3 for deadpool is pretty good. He can kill any character in one hit much like everyone else but that’s not the point. In level 3 x factor he has his infinite which is so easy to do.
-Katanarama. I have used this assist for as long as I’ve used him. It’s my go to for combo extending with ANY character, and I’m pretty damn sure spencer and taskmaster can benefit from it. Just remember to use this combo extender after you’ve already used your ground bounce because katanarama uses up a ground bound but if you’ve already used one and call the assist it will still cause ground bounce for more damage.
-Laming out. If you ever find yourself in a “lame-off” situation where you wait out the timer. He is good for that because his guns and gifts can control almost the whole screen.
-MOTHER FUCKING PHOENIX!!!. If you play deadpool on anchor he is probably the character who will have to deal with her. He has a few options against her which are just as she’s turning use cuttin’ time to go through the blow back and kill her(there’s a video on this somewhere). Or wait for the blow back to end and go in for a quick :F:+:M: overhead. Then of course you can stay in the air to try and trick her by wall jumping then double jumping then ninja gift. Just being annoying ya know? And finally his counter. By the time you have deadpool out you should have 3 bars so you can use his counter to throw people off. Just becareful because if you guess wrong you’ll get destroyed unless you x factor.
Cons:-I have heard that he does his best at point because he is a good meter builder. So obviously that won’t be of much use.
-Also he won’t have assists to back him up so yeah.
Sorry I can’t think of the cons. He’s always been pretty reliable to me on anchor even though people tell me he’s better on point.

Good luck with him and if you need me to answer any questions go right ahead.

if ur running Spencer on point with Deadpool on anchor, id recommend quick work assist for easy unblockables (Spencer with a overhead-zipline attack with deadpool assist)
