I promise you, this isn’t some XBL lobby gameplay, I’ve worked hard to refine my Hawkeye. Unfortunately, I was playing against a sentinel player, who’s match up is in Hawk’s favor, but you’ll see I actually do a lot of the stuff I’ve posted here in action and I’ve even made some non-XF comebacks, so any critique/criticisms is appreciated.
P.S. Wolvie’s my demon
I don’t think I’ve ever posted in the Hawkeye forum, never really needed to though. Been using this character for such a long time, and have had great success. In my opinion, Hawkeye’s most useful tool as anchor is his ability to perform hunter loops.
It’s a shame that his day 1 BnB is still the most prevalent BnB Hawkeye players seem to use. This character is really under-developed, but I’d like to blame that on the tools given to the character. Tiger knee’d scatter shots after launcher don’t add too much damage to the actual combo’s.
I’d much rather save my meter for his lvl 3 or raw gimlets then spend 2 bars to do a combo that does around 700k.
I guess his zoning makes up for this though.
Been using this character for too long actually, at this point it’s not about love/character loyalty; it’s about needing him. I need his fast triple arrows assist for teleport mix-ups, I need his lvl 3 x-factor derp as I’m most confident with Hawkeye on anchor then any other character, etc.
I do enjoy his quirky attitude though, and I love how my friends/people I play with are scared shitless of my Hawkeye.
Perhaps I need to do some lab work with Hawkeye. I understand that he was meant to be a strictly zoning character in some regards, just wish that he had a few more efficient BnB’s that are actually worth the meter being spent.
Any good tips on how to react properly with Hawkeye’s :df:+:h: slide? Or do you just need godlike reactions pure and simple? In waiting to see if my opponent blocked, I either wait too long and whiff :s:. Or I instinctively press :s: or :qcb:+:l:, :s: being the more costly option if they blocked -.-’
It’s usually not worth risking, just cancel the slide into poison tip whether it hits or not. It’s pretty safe on block and on hit think of it as a poke that does 200k.
You can call a forward moving assist to help you confirm, like Chris G does with Ryu’s Tatsu. Press the assist at the same time as slide, cancel into poison tip, Tatsu hits, and you get another slide into a combo.
Has anyone here tried to do reps of :s: to tk.rag time (kamikaze) in the corner? I’ve been only able to get 4 reps in because my execution sucks but I was just wondering if this could be some sort of corner infinite since kamikaze causes soft knock down. Haven’t really seen anyone post anything about this so i’m just trying to see if anyone has more luck with this. Also, this doesn’t work on big sized characters because they seem to fall too fast for you to relaunch them. I know it works on regular sized… and maybe smaller sized hit boxes?
but i thought hsd doesn’t effect:s: as hard as other normals do? I’m sure if u have a lot of hsd racked up its not like they’re gna pop out immediately after they get launched from :s: so it just got me thinking that it could be done.
Has anyone been able to use the capture state glitch to any real success? Getting the capture state into an assist to reset the hitstun deterioration that is.
Match starts around 1:56:00
I wouldn’t go as far as saying it is high level play but I was able to take out Honzo with Hawkeye on point with Chris on gunfire and Spencer on slant shot backing him up.
Sick. Any reason for the H shot into M Trick Maneuver + Rusty Nail? Usually people just use H shot into Trick Shot (Spritzer) but you mixed in the rusty nail.

I was lucky to eliminate Combofiend (3 x 2), but this was not recorded. ¬¬
