Might sound like a stupid question, but I think online lag is trolling me. You can hit confirm and launch off a L can you not ?. L , M into slide, into S. I just played like 6 matches in a row where I hit the L, then they block the M and punish me. WTF ?
I play Hawkeye second, my team is Chris/Clint/Doom and I think he’s a perfect fit there. Dhc from Chris sweep combo into kiss of fire follow up with Gimlet oh man I love it. Also Hawkeye dhc’s really well into a full damage sphere flame from doom
The net arrow loop works on assist too well at least for 3 reps and it doesnt net them up it just causes enough stun to continue the loop. Im gonna try to maximize the loops
my new favorite thing to do in a block string is slide xx trick shot H (crossup) ice arrow
OMG can’t wait to try this
So, how do we fight characters that can teleports behind/above/whatever? Gimlet on reaction ?
gimlet will miss a teleport if its not timed right. better to just block or jump away
I don’t know if anyone has already thought of this but I was in the lab with my friend who played Cap, hawkeye, trish and I thought of a way to use the :a1:+:a2:(forgot what it was called) to do a lot of damage so I made this:
midscreen- :df:+:h:, :s:, j., j., j.:h:,j.:s:, :f:+:m:, :df:+:h:,:s:, j., j., j.:h:,j.:s:, :qcb::l:+:m:, :a1:+:a2:, then depending on your other characters you can keep going for example with cap and trish you can get 2 :qcf::h:'s in before trish is done.
corner-:: :df:+:h:, :s:, j., j., j.:h:,j.:s:, call assist(cap charging star or trish low voltage for them), :qcb::l::l:,:df:+:h:, :s:, j., j., j.:h:,j.:s:,:qcb::l:+:m:, :a1:+:a2:,(with cap and trish) :qcf::h:,:qcf::h:
It depends, against dante if he isn’t convering his teleports properly you can just AA him right as he appears since you always know where he is going. But against people with tracking teleports, I actually not entirely sure how you would deal with them especially if they are covering their teleports with good projectile assists, up back should probably help you out a bit. Plus his j. :h: has a nice hit box so maybe jump back :h:
i TOTALLY agree with this. my friend already started doing this shit to me. the only reason i haven’t ditched clint yet is because his assist works so well with albert and hiryu AND it barely scales unlike beams. but soon as i learn task he’s out of here.
If you’re playing hawkeye and not doing this then by god please start. I’ve been using that little move for a while and never thought to share it here because I thought it was really simple and everyone would have figured it out by now.
I can attest that it works really well IMO. I call an assist at the same time I go for the slide. Slide’s range means I’m less likely to get happy birthdayed unless it’s a fast fullscreen type thing and the assist will help cover you if you get hit out of the slide or when you go for the cross-up. My team is RR/Hawkeye/Doom and it’s mainly plasma beam assist I use for this purpose. Pendulum is a wall-bounce hit confirm into basically whatever you want, but the real fun comes from beam assist imo.
Combined with slide xx empty forward flip while calling out a beam assist it’s akin to a teleport cross-up situation and even if you don’t convert off the hit off (in my case) plasma beam the soft knock-down and subsequent tech roll seems to lead to some pretty ambiguous situations dependent on which way they tech roll. I definitely think it’s advantage Clint in those situations. I tend to not know which side I’m going to end up on so it’s feels incredibly ambiguous a situation to put them in. I think I’ll sit down in the lab sometime and try and figure it out.
I’d tie standing.b with the slide for his 2 best normals. The range on arrow slash is obscene. It feels like a hulk sized normal, works decently as AA if you put it out early enough and allows punish from ranges where people would not believe you could punish them from. Godlike normal IMO
What do you buffer with arrow slap to make it that good? Do you just use it or do you buffer triple arrows into it?
just posting this to see if people can get creative with hawkeyes rag time shot assist… i think it has potential since it always creates a soft knockdown no matter how long the combo

just did a short combo with vergil cause i had to hold the camera
Me personally I go for Arrow Slap into slide and hit-confirm into S and instead xx Trickshot L or H on block…throw an assist in before the xx and it feels really strong. If only I was good at hit-confirming. It’s what gets me killed most of the time
I actually want to try that team out, though with Hawkeye first and then Chris second. Do you think it’s better for Hawkeye to be second and which assist did you use for Hawkeye?
See how Chris and Hawkeye DHC with Hawkeye on first. I know with my team if Gimlet hits a grounded opponent I can DHC into either Doom or RR and have it hit. Granted Doom DHC isn’t that damaging, but it allows for a little extra damage on a safe DHC in. Gimlet has some pretty decent hit-stun on it so see when and where you can get chris to DHC in effectively. I’m pretty sure you could get a free grenade super DHC on a grounded opponent when you are at the right range.
I like Chris up front because he is a great battery and can do pretty good meterless damage. Also DHC from chris into hawkeye is great (DHC from anything into gimlet is pretty good) but DHC into chris is hard. Sweep combo you obviously have to be close, and loading grenade is a difficult super to DHC into cause of its bad juggle properties.
I use triple arrow assist with hawkeye, it helps chris do additional chip and just helps with lock down, gives me time to throw a grenade etc.
Thanks, I feel the same way about Chris on point. I won’t be using him for meter much unlike Hawkeye and the Quick Shot Greyhound helps with horizontal control while Hidden Missiles controls the skies.
How do you use Hawkeye effectively as an anchor? I can’t make him survive when the opponent still has 3 characters left. All I do is use the triple arrow move then when it hits I go to gimlet and it seems that it doesn’t always work. I’m also having trouble using the slide move. When the opponent is near I can’t make a move.
You should try using Scatter Shot (DP+M) at times. Also, when the opponent is almost near, you can try using F+M.
Might I recommend using his other super: Kiss of Fire?
