Been watching a lot of “high-level” hawkeye play. He seems to struggle against Spencer, since up close he dominates hawkeye with frame traps and mix ups and Clint has no answers up close. And with his zipline it blows through hawkeyes low durability arrows preventing you from cancelling block strings in poison tip trick shots. Oh and lets not forget BIONIC.ARM which would blow through gimlet at the right range.

I’m not home and not sure when I’ll be home, nor do I have the frame data. I wanted to know if;
Shock Value could be cancelled from normals on hit/block, if so would it allow Clint to have safe block strings after his slide?
How strong the durability on the :h: arrows on trick shots, can spender blow through them with his zipline like he does to poison tip?

Well it says it has beam durability “3 frames x 3 low priority durability points”. Not entirely sure what that means but Im guessing since spencers wire grapple has 5 low durability point the arrows would win since-correct me if im wrong here-its 3 arrows with 3 low durability points each right?

But id say its far to early to be worrying about who he struggles against, we still don’t know enough about a lot of his tools and shit so id give it time. Except for the captain america match-up, screw that guy.

lol you have no idea how much I hate that move, especially since my friend covers with with assists thus making it completely safe.

I have been playing offensive hawkeye at the 2 slot. Usually i build meter with Chris and bring hawkeye in with DHC or tag after char death. Then i got wild. Need to find someone that can cover the air better though :smiley:

Honestly, are there any anchors that can compete with Hawkeye? I’m not saying hes Dark Phoenix derp tier but man, any duo that i’ve used and have been struggling to find an anchor for, I just toss Hawkeye on the 3rd slot and i’m blowing up people for free, the only semi-sucky part is that if anyone is silly enough to call a 1m+health assist out and I Gimlet+XF Gimlet that its barely short of killing them.

I dunno, maybe i’m just missing something but my Hawkeye usually comes in stocked with 4-5 meters and thats enough to cover the slack, unless i’ve been getting completely styled on the whole match. Shame too, cause I really like Hawkeye 2nd backed by Doom Missiles, but Hawkeye seems to get kills for free against most people at my level. Not to mention most other common anchors get demolished by Hawkeye hands down if it comes down to anchor vs anchor.

Sorry if i’m talking Hawkeye up too much, i’m really just posting this to see what other people have problems with when running Hawkeye on anchor so I can prepare for it.

Has anyone messed with net arrow forcing ground bounce after the corner ice arrow ground bounce before you relaunch with a slide. seems like you could catch them in the first bounce and loop for extra damage before the ender. I’m gonna test when I have a chance.

[EDIT] I was able to connect a 5H 236M but it was inconsistent and didn’t add enough meter nor damage to make it worth the effort

Honestly, I’m having a hard time building at least a bar with Clint in a combo, after I master his basic basic bnb I’ll be moving on to making him meter efficient. I refuse for anyone other than Stark to be meter inefficient on my roster. I’ll be looking into unibeam assist for combo extensions most likely, Clint doesn’t build meter very well…

I’ve been playing Hawkeye on anchor as well and, honestly, his 1v1 matchups are very polarized. He can win any firefight, but if the opponent has a trenchcoat , it becomes a close range battle which is not a good look for Clint. Maybe im just not powerful enough with him yet

That made me laugh, and it doesn’t help that the niggas with trenchcoats can xf while they’re in xf too. I hope you are away Clint can catch teleports even behind him with Gimlet, so long as they’re timed right. Try to make use of that if they’re trying to teleport to get in close, another interesting idea is that Clint’s :m: command roll and rag time have him crouching, meaning you can get wesker and dodge his gun if you time it right.

I don’t know if that’s useful or not.

He can also catch tracking teleports with j.H

I really don’t fear the trenchcoat warriors, predictable teleports and inferior zoning skills.

They’re not so tough to me. ^___^

How to hit confirm with this guy? I always end up doing slide and getting punished for it…

Slide into Trick Shot ( ?, whatever qcb L is ) L into whatever arrow will make it safer-ish, but I mean hes primarily a zoner, he probably isn’t going to have super god like normals

Hey guys. New to the forum and pretty much the community in general. I was doing some testing with Hawkeye a little while ago and noticed that if I connect with Hunter into Kiss of Fire, then immediately DHC into another super it puts the opponent into a spinning knockdown state. Was wondering if anyone else noticed this as well? If I’m stating something obvious then I apologize in advance.

I don’t really like hawkeye as an anchor, as soon as people learn to stop pressing buttons unsafely and realize you can just down back or chicken block pretty much his entire xfactor, I don’t really think its going to work out very well, granted it will probably be a few months before that happens. I think I see hawkeye second probably being his best spot in the long run
