There is layering on the stages so the characters can be in front of or behind the stage, and certain elements bounce when someone falls or gets slammed which is great. I also prefer static backgrounds instead of seeing some person in the back doing some two frame movement repetitively.
OK, I’ve been listening to the NG Arrange album and it is truly spectacular. Excellent for just throwing on and doing things around the house. It’s chilled out but has all these bits that take you back to the 90s when you were dropping quarters in to SF3 for the first time–and those were fun times–at least for me.
I don’t think I really appreciated NG at all when it first came out. I wanted fireballs that filled the screen and there was never X-Men vs Street Fighter machine too far from the NG cab in my arcade. Getting older definitely has some advantages like appreciating all the little things that you glossed over when you were young.
wow i didn’t know how good the older stuff was, i missed out on a lot of it by starting with 3s
lol at the beginning of this match…
I’d like to see some 2I matches with 3S music
just played 2i for the first time, although it has a pretty good soundtrack, some levels in 3s have better music imo

Voices are much better in 3rd Strike although I like both games.
I like the Jazzy NYC from 2nd Impact.
This is the big difference presentation wise. 2nd Impact has some amazing looking stages whereas most of 3S’s stages look really dull in comparison. It looks as if they didn’t put the same effort into 3S’s presentation bar the improved voicework.
As for the soundtrack, I think there both absolutely terrible but 2I’s is even worse than 3S’s. I haven’t heard a soundtrack in a Capcom fighter as good as that in SF2’s CPS1.
Hmm… interesting.
Would you mind PM’ing any links or info as to how you did that?
I like Alpha 2 better than Alpha 3.
Better music, better game.
Well for one thing, I understand that 3s and 2I are fighting games but this has nothing to do with fighting game discussion. Two, anyone that says 3s is a POS is an idiot. 3s makes you think outside the box more so than other 2d fighters. :arazz: Third, the 3s sound track is way better than 2I. There are a lot more jazzy tracks on it. Definitely not high octane. 2I is more mellow. I have to admit that Gill’s stage in 2I has a sick ass track.
I remember those tracks.I downloaded them from Napster(does that still exist?)awhile back.I liked Good Fighter & Jazzy New York <latin mix>myself. Sharp Eyes to me was track you can relax to.
Dude shut up.
Alpha 2 is definitely a better game than Alpha 3, but the music in Alpha 3 is superior. For pretty much the same reasons I stated for 3S when compared to 2I. Ryu, Gen, and Sagat’s song beat out anything else from the entire series. Whereas Alpha 2’s soundtrack is comprised of bad remixes that completely lose the original feel of the sampled track or more hokey stuff.
Even so, Birdie’s theme being a throw back from the first Street Fighter is pretty cool. I’m also pretty sure Gouken’s theme in SFIV is similar to Akuma’s theme in Alpha 2.
3S Sucks.
Somehow I find 3s to be more fun than NG and 2I. I can’t really even explain why, but it’s the truth.
I still do wish they’d kept some of the backgrounds from the old games instead of having everyone share. Sharing sucks! :arazz:
U R A SCRUB. kiss my ass. :arazz::arazz::arazz:
U suck.
Considering this thread was made almost 2 years ago and was never locked I am guessing I put it in the right forum.
