sry I never saw your combo, thought I was the first, and I gave credit to ramza on the youtube description. Also, it’s not a variant precisely because I save the ground bounce which allows two sets of spiral swords, seems like an entirely different combo… Just trying to maximize dmg while still keeping it functional and able to work on any sized character.
It’s not too late to make a video, the more 1 mil videos, the better, because one might be easier to pull off depending on the person trying to learn it.
This combo doesn’t work anywhere on the screen. If you start it near midscreen, and end up in the corner after the first lunar phase, it will drop when you release roundtrip. Aslo just strait up drops if you start it in the corner, even with a backdash during the otg.
If you’re starting in the corner you should just do Lunar Phase x2 after SS to ground bounce them and continue with cr.H xx Stinger Wallbounce Round Trip when they fall over. It also helps to backdash and crouch for a nano-second after activating swords again with your back to the corner to get the LP to fully connect. Admittedly it get’s kind of wonky sometimes when you’re still approaching the corner after the first loop and they’re wallbouncing towards you at a shallow angle instead of over you.
My only pet peeve is that people do these videos on characters like Nemesis/Sentinel/Hulk who have gigantic hit boxes, so of course the combo will work without a lot of the nuance required for characters that aren’t punching bags.
I actually have a lot more trouble doing the combos on Sentinel/Nemesis/etc. Seems like the timing to hit them with a c.H after a judgment cut is a lot stricter.
Just wondering if anyone has anything better as far as solo combo’s go.

I’m wondering about the version of this combo that’s outside of the corner where he releases round trip just before hitting the ground after j.:s:. Is there like some sort of timer or visual/auditory Que that makes timing the landing easier? Because the timing of that is rather difficult for me.
I really really really wish there was but I was not able to find a cue or anything. I just practiced it. sorry
Vergil doesn’t have air movement options or air specials other than round trip. Even in Devil Trigger it’s not like a double jump lets him get anything more than a couple extra j.Ms

- I prefer Dante, much more fun and flashy
- I just don’t like him, don’t mind going against him, but playing him isn’t as exciting for me.
But this video was still very helpful. I saw some things I could really take and use. I really only need 50 hits since Jam Session allows me to take 2 snap shots.
You need an OTG assist for this combo (or to use jam session for Vergil and not Frank). This is because the hard tag to Frank requires for lunar phase to cause hard knockdown and ground bounce in order for Frank to get the picture in time.
Without having a way to pick them up without your ground bounce, your only option left is to start the combo on a grounded opponent and go straight to your wallbounce to set up spiral swords. You’ll probably be able to get 50 hits, but you can’t really get any substantial damage this way (feel free to find something and prove me wrong :))
Doing the exact same combo with Dante crystal instead of Wesker OTG shot, I was able to do 1,069,400 damage (still a TOD on spencer/everybody/etc) starting off one meter still. Basically it works just fine if you substitute crystal for shot. You lose jam session but crystal really works just as well for roll stuff.
this combo makes me rage so hard how even with the two helm breakers i cant do this consistently am i suppose to do the cr h judgecut, as fast as i can after releasing round trip?
It’s not about speed, it’s timing. Think of it as an SF4 link. 2 frame link? something like that lol, no idea
I’m not going to use this exact combo. Especially since it has an OTG assist and I don’t use one. But the parts of the combo I took note from was after the wall bounce. I probably won’t use Swords twice. I just want to use two Lunar phases, one with the swords to prevent the Ground Bounce, and one with out to have the time to call in Frank. So far I’ve been terrible at executing it but I know it’s there and I’m close, I just gotta same amount of time i spent trying to learn Dante.
The lunar phase->hard tag frank has to cause groundbounce. This means that you cannot use your groundbounce in any other part of the combo, leaving you with very few ways to actually start the combo because Vergil has trouble picking them up without an otg assist or access to his groundbounce. You might be able to do some weird pick up with spiral swords and Frank’s shopping cart assist (similar to Richard N’s weasel shot+spiral swords OTG pickup).
