First, always props to Ian of course. Second, I will be at the screening with a few people from LI. If anyone wants to meet up before or after the screening let a brotha know!
Looks good but is this only about SF4? As a fighting game documentary Iād be really interested in some of the other communities and what their trying to do to expand.
Great work anyway but hopefully more exposure for other games and players if possible in the future. Iād be more interested in buying something like that.
How you getting there from LI? Me and some people from east Queens plan to go.

Im taking the LIRR. I may have to be there kinda early though. Not sure.
Just a reminder: tomorrow the film will be screened in NY at the NYU Game Center, for anyone interested or local to the NY area. Joe will be there, repping the film and the community, answering questions in my absence, basically holding it all down.
NYU Game Center ? Blog Archive ? 2nd Annual Spring Fighter Tournament
As much as Iād love to have the documentary focus on all aspects of the fighting game community, from Tekken, to Marvel, to Street Fighter, and every obscure doujin fighter out there, itād be unrealistic to try to devote equal screen time to all of them AND build a cohesive story that not only fighting game fans can enjoy but the casual watcher of documentaries and movies can get into.
My main goal coming out of the project was to shed light on the scene, but also make the film accessible, so that meant a cohesive narrative that followed charismatic players that represented the scene well. I could see a project like you mentioned, but I think its appeal and target audience would be limited - which isnāt a bad thing, itās just not what I was going for with this documentary.
is there anyway i can download the documentary or somehow view it online i would be willing to purchase it
Is the feature length cut available yet? I checked the website out of curiosity and noticed the Torrent link was gone and that it was replaced with Mattoid distribution, which is awesome for you (but sad for us since no more freebies lol), but was wondering since you found a distributor, how far along the project is to getting released to the public.
Looking forward to it!
Is this set to be released anytime soon?
Seems weāve all donated to a Duke Nukem cause.
I noticed a while back that the Short Cut was no longer available on the igotnextmovie.com website. Is there anywhere to still get this? I had it on an external hard drive but lost it and now Iād like to have it back.
damn, FOCUS already has a release date set at this point and that was centered around evo 2010. This one is evo 2k9 isnāt it?? Letās see this thing!!
Hi. Whatās the status on this? Still not out yet?

I Got Next Screening and Q&A
Serpent Theatre
Friday 10:00pm - 11:30pm
Love fighting games? Check out āI Got Next,ā a feature length documentary on the fighting video game scene. āI Got Nextā follows four prominent players within the fighting game community, Justin Wong, Ryan āGootecksā Gutierrez, Joe āiloveuā Ciaramelli and Mike Ross through their experiences in the scene during release of Street Fighter 4 in 2009, which has caused a resurgence in the fighting game genre and a rekindling of the East Coast/West Coast rivalry that had died down in years past. Join director Ian Cofino, with Mike Ross, Ryan Gutierrez and Justin Wong afterward for a discussion and Q&A of the film and the community.
Panelists include: Justin Wong [Community Representative, Nexon], Ryan Gutierrez [Producer, Cross Counter TV], Mike Ross [Producer, Cross Counter TV], Ian Cofino [Director, I Got Next]

I Got Next looks like it has been in feature-length form and finished for quite some time, is there any chance we are going to see this?
