I Got Next | A Documentary on the Fighting Game Scene

I was at PAX that day, but didn’t know about the Panel. How did it turn out?

this may have been answered already but what kind of camera/mic setup do you use? Ive been thinking about getting into just basic video taping stuff like matches, tourneys, etc, and Id like to do it in HD.

Was thinking about getting this:

Don’t know what he’s using, but It’s gotta be miles better than that, his vid looked pretty professional. Just judging by the fact that you get what you pay for, I think that is probably at the low end of the spectrum, but maybe good for recording matches idk. That costs half as much as the standard def camera I have now, and I bought that a few years ago. Something in between low end and ‘prosumer’ I would say is like this

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-HDC-SD1-Definition-Camcorder-Stabilized/dp/B000LO92EK.

it’s HD + Leica lens and 3CCD will give you very crisp detail and vibrant color.

Great Documentary!

Did they take it down? I am looking so I can watch it again.

You’d be surprised, haha. Everything you see in the film is shot on a Canon Vixia HV30, which shoots in 1080i. I don’t think you really need a HV30/40 if you are just looking to record matches in HD, but it’s a great buy if you’re looking to get into film making. You can find it for cheaper than what amazon is selling:

Wow, I did it was probably something more ‘pro’ than that, but you gotta admit there’s probably a pretty big quality gap between that one and the one he linked, haha. You really do pretty much get what you pay for within reason (sometimes you’re paying extra for the brand like in Sony’s case, but just in general).

Either way, movie looked very slick and professional, I can’t wait for the full cut!

Actually I looked up some videos of the camera I posted on youtube and it does great for the price and what I need it for. The ONLY thing that I thought might be lacking is image stabilization. I can just take Daizepam or smoke to get rid of that though (get it?). But nah im really not trying to spend too much so I think the one i posted is just right for me. Plus it records to flash memory, has a simple docking station, AND (i thought this was cool especially) has a 300 fps slow motion mode. It does 1080p at 30fps 1080i at 60fps (probably the setting Id use).

Just go to youtube and search for sanyo hd1010. That slow motion would come in handy say, to show hands doing combos on a stick? Only bad thing is the 300fps is only for 10 seconds and not in high def, but it still looks cool as hell.

snaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkke!

I wasn’t able to stay for the panel because the buses didn’t run too late.

The showing went pretty well. It was one of the last events of the night (started at 10:30p if I remember) so there weren’t as many people there. I think the eventual turnout was 15-20 people (?)

It was great to see the film again

WE MADE IT GUYS!

GRAT IAN, NOW GET TO ET!

Is the official site messed up for anyone else?

Odd, works just fine for me.

Just watched the short cut version of this. Seriously, this is fucking amazing. Mad props to all the work you’ve put in on this.

Do I need to download any particular player for this? got VLC but it ain’t playing it. Feels like I’m listening to A Prairie Home Companion with more hadoukens and less lutherans?

*already tried searching, need quicktime for it?

did you download the HD version? maybe your computer cant handle HD movies.

try using windows media player

Download VIA the torrent now. Hopefully it all works and I can watch it, I just haven’t had time to keep up on this.

EDIT: Everything worked, and I just got done watching it. And I cannot wait for the final cut. Were there supposed to be DVD’s made? 'Cause i’ll buy it, for sure. Good stuff, very very inspirational for me, and I enjoyed every second of it.

New comp, need to download Quicktime. Worse thing about having a fresh install or a new comp is getting all the little programs that make internet civilized life possible. Very interested in how this documentary is going to turn out. Anthropology major here so this is like national geographic with the Justin wongs and gootecks hunting down gazelles and comboing them into ultras.

Great Documentary.

Watched the short cut a week ago, it was great. Awesome music, good length, awesome editing, i loved everything about it. 5/5 :china:

Loved it when I first saw it like a month ago. Awesome stuff.

Is there a date on the full release? Not to sound ungrateful, but can we at least get the low quality version of the arturo v daigo mm?

What’s happening with this? Still being worked on?
