I swear to God Ian, if you don’t make the Daigo vs. Justin grand finals match like edge of the seat, nail biting intense, you either got the worst footage ever or you just suck at editing

Gootecks said he got 17. place in the Evo tournament, that still put him in the top 1% of the players. He’s still up there even though he didn’t win.

I just watched it again. There is one line in the movie where Mike Ross says
“…and then it’s gonna be a race to see which coast can get better and which coast will be able to not get embarrassed by Japan”
I think it would be a good idea to put more emphasis on this statement. It’d be cool to see the guys not only talk about the internal rivalry, but the one against Japan as well. Beating the Japanese at Marvel doesn’t mean anything to these guys, but beating them at 3rd Strike or SF4 would be a very big deal since an American has never won a SF3/SF4 singles tournament in the history of EVO(yes I know there has only been 1 SF4 tourney so far).
All that could culminate in the final showdown between Justin and Daigo. And should set the stage for a even bigger Evo in 2010 with hopefully more Japanese coming which could mean a team exhibition between the two countries as well.
I’m sure Ian’s final cut will be great, I just wanted to throw my own thoughts in there.

like the short cut was just the fight within and now the final cut with Evo will have an even BIGGER threat…yea the EC vs WC isnt as great as it shouldve been but hey Edma placing 3rd isnt that bad and itll just say that in the end both coasts did there best in the long run but in the grand finals you should show the crowd and emphasis how much everyone joined together to cheer on justin in the finals especially after he put Daigo on the ropes

I was surprised to see how many Standard Definition TV’s were being used at all the tournaments. I guess other people besides me can’t afford HD yet.
I don’t think the price is the main problem. HD tv’s tend to have a considerable amount of lag which doesn’t matter with most games but with a fighting game where you have 1 frame links, a few ms of lag makes a big difference.

I have an HD tube tv last of its kind that has no lag but the glass is so heavy it takes two people to lift it. But its cool looking at all the different TVs at tournaments. Some have the wood grain with the buttons on the top or side…

I cant wait for the long cut of this. The lead up to the rumble with Japan will be epic. I think video from Evo, showing just how big it was will really help bring the whole thing in to perspective.
