you know for the longest time now i have been wondering why so many people here on srk care so much if someone plays their character or not, whats the big deal if many or too little people play your main character… can someone enlighten me please.
my reason personally is that i fuckin hate mirror matches, the fact that you cant know who’s who in Phoenix mirrors dont help in this case either.
Mirror matches man, they suck with any character, but even more with phoenix, have u ever seen a dark phoenix mirror? Its not a pretty sight i tell you.

random match i got dark phoenix, but nothing crazy was a bit laggy.
It is one of those thing where people don’t want to ride the bandwagon or seem to for a character. Some people want to play lesser known characters and not follow the bandwagon and have pride in doing that.
These days it is not that big of a deal for me.
I’ve been going through the Winter brawl stream, picking out the mvc3 footage but I can’t find the match where mike infinite OCVs a team with a snapped in phoenix… can anybody please give a link with a timestamp? Thanks.
This is true. It rapidly devolves into whoever gets off a light attack, since they can both rip the other apart in 2-3 hits. Both characters are red, fiery and juiced up on Lv3 XF, which only adds to the chaos.

@Cyroh: Yep, I seriously hope capcom considering patching that so the flames change color or something depending on what your alternate color is. Its really irritating to watch, so I can only imagine how horrid it would be to play.
So I played a bunch of matches with Phoenix yesterday (and received a bunch of hate mail), but something odd happened in one of my matches. It was late and I had been playing a lot so I’m not 100% sure of the circumstances. In my head though, what happened was that I had Phoenix out w/ 5 bars and I was facing Shuma Gorath. I got hit with an X-factored Chaos Dimension. I felt bad enough because I was unable to follow Seth’s brilliant advice to not get hit at the most crucial time, but I felt even worse when I got the K.O. screen. I looked down to make sure I had 5 bars and sure enough there was the big flashing “MAAAX!!” at the bottom of the screen.
So my question is, has anyone else run across this? Does Chaos Dimension keep her from transforming on death? Is it possible that I transformed and died anyways from the extra damage? While stuck in the dimension? Or is it just that I am just making this all up in my head to make myself feel better about losing a match that I should have won?
I’m at work now ,but I would appreciate if someone could test this or let me know if this has happened to them. Thanks.
Most likely the hit that killed you was the one that gave you the 5th level of meter. In which case you would still die.
I’m almost sure that I had 5 before I got hit because I was feeling pretty comfortable with my position in the match and was genuinely shocked when I saw the K.O. screen. I may be mistaken though.
that clip just made my day… go mike infinite showin who runs it…so how far did his team make it?
I think they made it pretty far, didn’t make top 4 though but I think ryry eliminated them so thats nothing to be ashamed off.

Well there’s a guy in another thread that found a sort of glitch that you can do if you fly and then do a :l: or 
teleport you can do her ground normals. And you can unfly cancel out of those normals.

does anyone know whether they have patched anything on phoenix? i been testing the distance on H tk shot it seems the same but it seems like its lost a bit of distance?
i dont think she got nerfed…i hope not… i did notice that air down+H was harder to do after her M,M,H air combo (maybe just bad execution?)…but you can do Down+H after her air medium still.
try doing the first M earlier 
is it me or did they get rid of dark phoenix’s weakened defense? i think before the patch she took more damage than usual from regular attacks, but now she takes normal dmg?
