im assuming phoenix can’t teleport before she hits the ground when she comes in after a characters dies…is this true? That’s my main weakness with her now is that I don’t know how to spot all the other character’s cross-ups in that situation yet so she can get hit in one and its ggpo before you even get a chance to x-factor

No. You can teleport before you hit the ground after a character dies and you come in.

I’ve been looking for this too. But I can’t record/replay moves in training so…

FYI guys Phoenix Rage (her bird super) is invincible from frames 1-14 according the the MvC3 guide.

Therefore Phoenix can use it to protect herself from X-23’s dirtnap. If X-23 tries to grab then she eats the bird. However, Phoenix is fucked if X-23 decides to bait and block it. :lol:

anyone has frame data on her teleports?

According to the guide, her teleport has 10 f of start up and 20 f of recovery. The attack speed of the vast majority of supers after the super flash are in the single digits, sadly.

I was wondering why sometimes during air combos her down+H will whiff. I can’t seem to figure out why this works sometimes and whiffs others. Can someone shed some light on this please? Btw I’m doing something normal like L>M>d+M.>H>S sj.M>M>H>f+H>d+H.

If you wait on the sj.M’s, it WILL whiff. EVERYTIME. You have to be doing those sj.M’s as soon as the launch connects. Her recovery from it will prevent you from missing them, and will cause you to stop their ascent, giving you enough height to get above them and land the :d::h:

what character is a good assist character to use a cross over counter with phoenix after she gets snapbacked in? I was thinking ryu for a shoryuken assist, any other character that has a really good cross over counter assist?

I’m using Wolverine on his A(Tornado Claw) assist. As far as I know it works just as well, but I really haven’t tested much of the AA assists.

phoenix starts around 2:02, and dark phoenix a little bit later

seems that the gong doesn’t reflect back her homing fbs! i’m glad to see that it just negates them, also i think that dark phoenix’s small flames aren’t reflected either

re-watched the haggar/phoenix seth killian x-play video today and lawls he said phoenix pretty much fits on any team…(looking back at it now that sounds really stupid…you have to build the team around you just can’t throw her into a day and it works just like that)

Phoenix is so fucking broken…whenever I find a team with Phoenix I quickly use Snap Back and kill her before Dark Phoenix with X-Factor cuz if that happens is really hard to track her down…

Does that mean, that whenever we teleport, the opponent can just mash super on reaction and we cant even block it? I really doubt she has 20 frames recovery… thats a LOT… thats not what i call an INSTANT teleport… which is what her teleports are supposed to be… instant…

They most certainly aren’t instant, but they are freaking fast. Put them in blockstun and you’re good to go. Assists and/or projectiles are your friend.

You should only ever naked teleport on reaction to something.

I think the 20 frames of recovery also includes the time when she’s off screen…Maybe…

Granted, It doesn’t seem that supers autocorrect to her destination…Someone should test that…

I have a question for you all I’ve been racking my brain trying to find a 3rd team member for my Wesker/Phoenix any suggestions?

If the opponent is touching the circular field aroun phoenix you willget your red life back at A very fast rate.

Sentinel lol. I think that sentinel was made to pair with Phoenix.

Sentinel-Survive till 5 meters and safely call in Phoenix
Phoenix-when sentinel calls, hop out and use sentinel’s awesome assists until you die. Tag dark phoenix out, and watch your opponent die under sentinels large mechanical thumb and Dpho’s Assist. If they happen to get past Sentinel, its up to a Level 3 X factor DPho to put a hurt on. And a level 3 DPho hurts BAD. Seriously. You can kill a full strength whole team one at a time in about 25 seconds using only 3 supers. Seriously. Bitch is baaaaddddd.

Oh sentinel is getting taboo right now. That’s right. Well, you are probably going to want to learn someone else with a lot of health and/or keep away ability (for the mid match meterbuilding) that can call phoenix safely, let her get to Dpho, and tag out successfuly (READ: WITHOUT USING METER). So… Tron? Haggar? Dormammu? Someone like that.
