No, she’s definitely viable Swordsman. I was just telling your bro this. She hits like a fucking truck. The traps stay out about five seconds. You can have out three at a time, only one of each. You can combo of them (at least as DPh).

And yes, her ports do track super jumpers. If you want me to answer stuff about her, get my number from Mike.

What if you start jabbing/doing normals? Wouldn’t the mini-projectiles protect you?

I don’t get that Dirt Nap hyper. Do you have to push a button for it to activate when you’re invisible? I know it’s a grab, but do you have to grab the opponent? Does it activate automatically?

I think Dormammu and Dante can as well, but Phoenix’s is just better.

If you remember Shuma Gorath’s Chaos Dimension super, it does the same thing except add the invisibility part. Although I’m not sure if it works if you are airborne. I remember seeing a video [may have been the gamespot tourney 3] where someone activated it and the other dude just started jumping/staying airborne to avoid the grab.

I think you hit the launcher button but i’m not sure. Also Dirt Nap is not really like a standard type of grab. Anti-air grabs won’t work on incoming characters, yet Dirt Nap does. None of the grabs (except a very few) can be combo’d into, but Dirt Nap can. It’s almost like a special unblockable attack that happens on contact rather than a grab.

Expect Shuma Gorath to do the same with Chaos Dimension.

This also makes me wonder exactly what our escape options are against anyone trying to hit us with an air command grab on entrance? I know Thor and Haggar have mid air command grabs. She-Hulk has that AA command grab HC. There are probably others I am forgetting too. Are these all inescapable after a character down or snapback?

Well, from what I heard air grabs will not work on incoming characters until either you press a button or until you touch the ground. Not even hypers like web throw. Dirt Nap seems to be the only exception.

Not sure if this has been posted but if your opponents ko’s you into dark phoenix while he is in the corner, you can get a combo after the hit of the transformation.

Also phoenix is competely broken

You can teleport off her Dark Phoenix transformation. Seems instant. At worst it’s like 2 frames.

Uh ok guys. As if the info coming hasn’t quelled your fears enough, let me put it all to rest for you. Here is 1 meter BnB with no X-Factor:

A, A, B, C, d+C, f+C, S, jump, A, A, B, B, f+CxxTK ShotxxPhoenix Rage = 782,300 damage

That is over 3/4 of a life bar or more against the majority of the cast with no X-Factor, 1 meter and its a VERY straightforward combo that you can master in a couple of minutes in practice mode.

If she has meter, and your execution is anything above novice, the opposing team is pretty much dead in 3 mistakes.

In sadder news, Healing Field does not remain if she tags out. (Sad face)

I literally killed x-23 from over half life with chip from normals and specials and assist it was hilarious… Made my boy want to throw his controller.

Fun fact if it hasn’t been pointed out already: her f.M is an overhead that combos INTO and OUT OF her magic series (i.e. s.L, s.M, f.M, f.H, S xx Air Combo or just f.M, f.H, S, xx Air Combo). Its dumb easy to take out turtles with her.

Yes, good note. Just to clarify, you can chain into it, but it doesn’t “combo” per se. It comes out too slow to actually combo with A, but you can go right into and out of it for a block string to bust turtles with. Sorry to be picky just want to be clear on that.

nah you can jab her out of it easy, 1st day playing after people saw it twice they punished me for attempting it every other time.

Its still a good overhead. As for punishing, I guess I haven’t been punished yet cause of how overwhelmed the opponents have been with all her options I keep throwing out.
