I can't control it! - The Phoenix Thread

While in DPh, her TK Shots are pretty damn fast.

In the best case scenario, the tracking version of it can follow people and interrupt them from doing Hypers and whatnot.

I’m hyped.

That is good to know, and since she can fly(i think) she can simply fly out of the range right? Cool, honestly that was my biggest worry with her that storm wouldn’t even have to try to beat her.

And it seems seth wasn’t kidding when he said DP was beastly, if she can lock people down, can you imagine how much damage she will do with her block strings alone? Now can you imagine that damage x-factored? Goooood shit. Can’t wait to see that one player who shows up at a tourney and is wrecking shop with her.

any reup of the stream?

No joke… I was thinking same exact team…lol. Tron ftw

Edit: yes reup of stream anywhere…?

She deals great damage

of course, eating just a raw hail storm= 95% of ure health gone.

So far, what assists are looking good for her? Morrigan comes to mind.

lol, people are still overreacting the meter assists?

Aerial-Exchange gives you a full meter per character tagged in. Just use a good battery character altogether.

I think you missed a “to” in that sentence. Anyway, the question still stands as to what assist would be good with her.

I am well aware of how much meter Aerial-Exchange combos give. That does change the fact that Phoenix has a unique relationship with her super bar, and so far, it seems that meter management is more important to her than any other character.

@BronzeFist I don’t know for sure that we’re talking about the same AG. Lol. This game has Absolute Guard which makes blocking easier, as long as you watch high/low.

Then, there is Advancing Guard, which, for good reason, is referred to as Push Block. I think THIS could be a problem for her at this early point in the game because, getting zoned with her is THE worst thing that can happen. You need to immediately get in and get to work. She doesn’t have the health to fight a war of attrition.

I just pointed thar relying into a meter assist alone wouldn’t do any good for her.

Using Morrigan while you have Jean out won’t be very useful, since Jean needs Assists that helps closing distance and/or getting some lockdown pressure. If your first character is defeated, Jean will only have Morrigan’s to back her up - things can be a little harder from here.

Tasky is a good battery character by himself - his ? or ? Assists also helps Jean with her approaching. Sent and Doom are also viable teammates with more than one option for a good assist.

Thank you kindly for providing an informed opinion for my question, Brennan.

I can see what you are saying, and if you can play with Jean effectively Task Master should be a walk in the park. However if you lose one character it’s no different than anyone else losing an assist. You are down one and have lost either a lock down, approach, AA or battery you had planned on having in the first place.

Anyhow, at the moment it seems like she needs less help getting in than most other rush down types and it looks like she has the option to hold back a sec to open them up with her projectile game. Getting in isn’t as much an issue as staying alive afterwards, HF should help with that.

I also think it depends on how important DPh mode will be to her. Some say crucial, others think differently. I think if DPh is really where it’s at then a battery assist seems the way to go. If not then I think someone like Task Master is a far better choice.

Yah when you said AG I was thinking of Push Block. I don’t think people will be able to zone her that bad. Quite honestly I think she’ll have the easiest time getting in when compared to every other rushdown character.

As for the whole meter assist thing…I really wouldn’t bother with one. I’m still of the opinion that her two teammates need to have very good synergy among themselves when it comes to assists. A meter building assist really isn’t something I would consider when looking at the synergy between only two characters. I mentioned this before, but Phoenix has so many tools by herself that damn near any assist will be icing on the cake–so I’d much rather focus on keeping her partners alive long enough to get those meters (and also do some damage on their own). It would suck to have your team fall apart because Phoenix got snapped in and blown up by some unexpected shit.

So ultimately I think it’s best to build a team around her by not building a team around her.

It can’t control it wha? Just kidding, I know what you mean. Maybe I am just looking for an excuse to put Morrigan on my team. I mean sure she has an amazing AA assist but I don’t want that many squishies on my team…but I do.

Sent/Doom/Phoenix
Dorm/Doom/Phoenix
Dante/Doom/Phoenix
Taskmaster/Doom/Phoenix…see where I am going with this?

Thus why i was asking for feedback on potential Trish, Doom, Phoenix team.

Yep but I think you missed the point, the point being I want an excuse to have Morrigan on there is well, just can’t find a good one, especially with you giving me what seems to be far better options.

Ahhhh well, there is always casual matches. Truth be told I haven’t been in a tournament in ages, and never a Major one, not to mention the real unlocking of this games potential hasn’t even started yet. Probably shouldn’t get to down on a theory with plenty of unknown elements involving a situation I will likely never find myself in lol.

:badboy:

Just roll with what you wanna roll with and if it doesn’t work out than try a different combination.

Personally, my team with Phoenix on it will consist of Morrigan/Sent/Phoenix. Morrigan is very versatile and has average life. Sent is well…he’s Sent so he goes with almost anyone.

Meter assist on Morrigan?
I’m wondering if that will be inevitable for Phoenix, but then again I can hardly imagine meter assists going unpunished in high level play.

On a side note, I think that with Healing Shield and it’s ridiculous healing (how long does it lasts?), lvl 3 KFC (30 secs, I believe) she’ll be close to immortal for a while.
