I can't control it! - The Phoenix Thread

Good stuff. Did DPh’s transformation always blow the opponent away?
I also want to know whether DPh can block projectile hypers that continue to hit after her transformation.

Dark Phoenix Normals Cause Chip Damage

 Can’t wait!

HOLY SHIT!!!

Her DPh normals do CHIP damage!
She’s got an overhead and you can combo off of it while in DPh!
HF speed looks like it doubles in how fast the health comes back when in DPh mode.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saiyng:

Crap. Phoenix broke the stream for minute.

The Stream is down but good stuff Swordsman I was able to catch some things some during training mode (1) Dark Phoenix all her normals chips wow so even if you opponent blocks they’ll be dead soon anyway:woot: (2) Dark Phoenix fireballs all track faster than normals one so no where to run and hide (3) Healing Field for Dark Phoenix fills up quicker than normal :lovin: I kept laughing at them calling her a cheap bitch I can’t believe I really thought about dropping her what the hell was I thinking

It does but only if they’re vulnerable. It does push them if they’re in the blast wave and blocking.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

I think she may recover instantly too. Don’t quote me on that.

Another awesome thing. If you get snapbacked in, YOU CAN NOT BE GRABBED UNTIL YOU HIT THE GROUND or IF YOU HIT A BUTTON.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

This is BIG for Phoenix users.

EDIT* The stream is still up. You just have to refresh it.

I’m still watching now guess the Phoenix stuff is over but she’s gonna be alot of fun, can’t be grabbed until you hit the ground interesting…

Missed this. Prop Swordsman for posting this. We know all this soon enough but new info on her is like the new crack on the block.

OR IF YOU PUSH A BUTTON COMING IN. Don’t forget that, that is HUGE for people thinking they can do a jump-in jump in.

The fact that her normals cause chip is a HUGE boon for Phoenix players. This should make matches very interesting, especially since people are so afraid to go in with her right now. Now at least you have a reason to. The ultimate in HR/HR (High Risk/High Reward) gameplay.

Now, you guys just need to get the game, find out some dope blockstrings for her, and a decent way of dealing with AG, and Phoenix can be a PROBLEM. Pressure with damage even when your opponent DOESN’T make a mistake is huge.

Kinda makes me want to put her on a sub team.

So Phoenix is still pretty ok, while Dark Phoenix is broke.

That’s fine imo. But yeah it’s been said before your entire team needs to be built around getting that meter then just raping face with her when she transforms.

450,000 HP when Arthur has 800,000…

Youre being slightly audacious to think Phoenix is broken. But if you like it i love it.

Well it’s been shown she doesn’t even really need to fight like half the cast. She can lame them out with fireballs and chip them all day then just teleport away. Tag out when DHC when you wanna heal or use healing field. She has some extremely powerful tools and a horrible weakness to offset them. But imo if you kill at least 2 of your opponent’s chars then it’s mission accomplished.

Hey Jean…Storm called, she said she can lame you out way harder with more than twice as much HP with a full screen super that does almost 30% of chip on you.

Hey Storm, Jean called…she said you a ho.

Im still worried about chip though, I wonder if her fireballs go through storms hail, because I saw a clip today of storm killing a wesker with 3 x-factored hail storms, so needless to say phoenix would be easily destroyed. But im sure capcom wouldn’t overlook something so obvious so she will probably have an answer to it. And worst case scenario she can just activate x-factor and curb the damage.

Super Jump avoids a majority of Hail Storm chip damage and most Phoenix players won’t have her without XFC saved up.

Will AG really be a problem for her? She got slow tracking fireballs and a very fast teleport that puts her behind the opponent. I can’t see it being much of an issue at all. She has damn near everything a rushdown character needs when it comes to offensive pressure.

I’d love to see how safe/unsafe her torpedo move is in DPh, and whether it causes massive chip.

Also of note from the stream: her ground TK trap will cause a phoenix projectile to shoot upwards once the opponent steps on it. It looks like the air version of her TK trap can be held or something? There were a few instances were it remained as the phoenix ‘shield’ for an extended amount of time.

I’m so happy that she can delay her TK traps and still attack and move around normally. I missed the Phoenix part of the stream so I didn’t get to see her command normals.

Edit: ^ What else was shown from the stream?

Yea at the peak of a super jump you don’t get chipped by hail storm at all. Plus Phoenix may be able to avoid the rest of the chip by flying or 8-way dashing upwards. So it’s very possible that she’ll be able to completely avoid sloppy hailstorm applications.
