This is true as far as double snaps being taken out, but it really doesn’t help Jean. The problem wasn’t a fear of her getting double snapped, the problem is she ALWAYS takes damage like she’s being double snapped.

Nvm its no point in expanding this discussion because Jean says “I cant control it” not “it cant control it.”

I think it’s going to end up being the opposite. Jean running away is asking to take chip and take it hard, I think to be successful Jean’s going to need to be laying on pressure, being tricky with teleports and generally keeping the opponent as busy as possible while holding onto those 5 bars for when the opponent finally slips in that random jab to magic series and kills her.

When I start fooling around with her I only see myself using projectiles either at the beginning of a rush (the slow homing one) or to keep them pinned should I get pushed out of range (fast direct ones) other than that I think teleports are going to be her main move to master.

I was thinking that too. I think we gonna have to be ready for a shitload of snap backs. At the same time we want to protect her, they want to kill her off fast. As most ppl said, make her the third person and save her up.

And yea since chip damage is gonna rape her, I was thinking about going mostly straight offense with 5 bars as phoenix or DPH. Doing as much damage you can before you WTF killed DPH WTF actually dead as with any character but with alot more emphasis.

Problem is you may not even get to initiate the pressure so the margin of error looks slim and not wasting bars and XFC on her is quite an advantage for the opponent.

DHC into Healing Field could be a good way to get her in and start her up as long as she can reliably make up those two bars fairly quickly. Hail Storm > Healing Field could be a really nice way to get going.

It shouldn’t be an argument really. It shouldn’t require more than house cat level IQ to figure out that because she’s 2 entities sharing 1 body, the first entity is referring to the second as “it”.

My 2 cents on the matter is that she’s saying, “I can’t control it.” “I” being Jean, and “it” being Phoenix. Jean has always been an unwilling host for the Phoenix, and she has to keep it under conrtol so the Phoenix doesn’t eat the sun and run to the next solar system for lunch.

Ah I fully agree that is what good Jeans will likely be doing once proper experience is under the belt. Me I’ll be runnin her as 3rd in most, but hope to eventually figure out matchups where she can be point. Problem remains that one error in rushdown is likely a dead Jean. I hope and expect that I’ll be using her similar to my Gouken strategy. Open them up with fireballs first and once that opening is there go crazy rushdown on them.

Also @ Soplox, of all the characters that might be a problem for Jean, MODOK actually strikes me as the least worrying.
