We can’t really say much about damage Until, we know the how much damage people in this game can really do per combo…People like the Hulk and Thor might have 100% damage combos with no KFC.
As for tiers junk, like I said before, where Phoenix going to land at counts on how important movement speed is in
this game, and how much of a advantage it is to have a teleport.
But then again, you can say that about other factor of this game…
Alright, alright, enough talk about her health. From what everyone has seen, how are we planning on taking advantage of her offense? Does it look like it’s fireball + teleport mix-ups all day?
I’d like to know more about her ground fire trap. Does it simply do damage, or does it restrict jumping like Dorms?
Maybe good in resets? I imagine she can end an air combo with :d:+:h: (or whatever input causes her to do the fast vertical dive kick), and then lay the trap before the opponent hits the ground.
For anything else-
Super jump, back air dash, unique to Phoenix homing air fireballs, timed teleport in front, above, or behind, followed by quick and safe normals. Repeat if blocked. Or maybe mix in an overhead or low hitting assist into the string.
That’ll be so annoying fighting her, how do you catch that? Maybe Trish or Storm could counter that…maybe…
But make one mistake and die. Don’t dry tag in late like all of the other Phoenix players dying in the vids.
Well its just me but i swear those orbs kind of follow you around? Dont you think so? It looked like it. Also it seems you can make em slow or hit fast kinda like CotA Storm’s typhoons.
ninja edit: The phoenix traps come out fast as hell. I see deadly setups with those.
i wonder what kind of effect hsien ko’s reflect gong will have on Dph’s homing fbs and also her smaller fbs that her normals emit, it could be problematic for her
hmm… i think she owns the spot as come back character. It’s her DP mode that’s a HIGH threat… we need to know first about good batteries for her team. What i think is that Sentinel is needed for a good phoenix team.
The ground trap will indeed be interesting. I heard that it works like Trish’s own ground trap (Hopscotch). With using that as an assist, I have to wonder if Phoenix would be able to seriously start controlling enemy movements. Two ground traps have to be annoying for anyone trying to approach, regardless if they have a teleport or not.
I’m also worried about Hsien Ko’s gong. I’m also worried about Taskmaster and his darn arrows (that seemingly just eat through other projectiles for free.) I’m guessing her homing TK shots are going to be a big part of her pressure game, and if anyone else has a way to mess with them, her offense may start to fall apart.
Seriously, I’m guessing she’s going to have to approach under the safety of a TK trap and/or a TK shot if she wants to keep her head on her shoulders.
Man, I hope she has some crazy combos going for her. She’ll need it.
lol well that can be taken multiple ways. Canon wise I think Phoenix has hopped from multiple bodies so it makes sense to say something like that. But it’s also hilarious because of her health.
Seeing that health makes me want to make team “Oops, I didn’t perfect you again,” which, ironically, seems like my already planned team of Zero(Ryuenjin)/Chun(Lightning Legs)/Phoenix(TK Overdrive). Is there any way I can get that life total any lower without doing stupid stuff like intentionally gimping Arthur?
Also, TK Overdrive seems like it would be Phoenix’s go to assist, since you can do it during a block string for some safe lockdown while the others require you to be extremely careful. I’d be interested to see how good of an assist it is with Dark Phoenix going. The trap might see some use extending some very specific combos, though.
I’m not even fussed about that hulk video , hulks c is pretty slow phoenix could of hit him landed a full combo and be back on top of going crazy n rushing n building meter
healing field aside from dph mode could be useful vs heavy zoners if you get hit a few times
I mean how many times have you lot perfected somebody on any game?
I play HDR Chun, so about a quarter of my matches end in a perfect for one side or the other, especially when I’m fighting Zangief. It’s also not uncommon for me to triple perfect randoms: probably around an average of once every time I sit down to play. I’m not bragging, it’s just a high-risk game that plenty of people suck at. I love that feeling of keeping someone on lockdown with resets and mix ups and knowing that if I give them an instant to breath or they guess one of them right, I’ll lose.
Man, one can only hope for a health increase hot fix. That shit is ridiculous. It’s like every character she fights is Glitched Juggernaught, lol.
I don’t care how god like the character is, hell she could even have Magnus’s ROM, in the vs. series games, you gotta be able to take a hit, and I suppose I don’t mean that as a figure of speech lol. Sure a Fancy X-Factor Combo that uses 2-3 meters clappin’ her for 80% is understandable, but at this health, one fullscreen hit confirm off of guns from Deadpool looks like lights out with a decent DHC(or without lol). I don’t even want to think about how much chip she’s going to take. Hailstorm does bonkers chip even on normal health characters. With no mvc2-style anti air assist invul, Phoenix is going to get open’d up, and there’s no invul psylocke to cover her ass when she rushes down.
Now, I’m a little salty, but I hope that didn’t compromise the message, lol. Anyway here’s the salty breakdown of changes I think are needed:
-Dark Phoenix should cost 3 meters(Healing Sphere and Dark Phoenix just seem counter intuitive, especially at the current five meters needed)
I will forward your thoughts directly to Capcom. Certainly your months spent playtesting the full version of this game qualifies you to make an accurate judgment on this issue.
