i’ve been wondering who im going to play in this game for a while and i might just use phoenix in my team. shit is the whole meter building thing is not the problem. people who know better are going to get a snap back on your ass to kill her off asap.
At first I thought “Hmm, does Phoenix really need a healing field super?”, then I saw her crappy health when she went down against Dante and thought “**** yes”. She brings a whole new meaning to glass cannon, holy hell…
Also, I don’t mean to nitpick, put I don’t get the topic title. Wouldn’t a simple “Risen from the ashes, the Phoenix thread” work far better?

Well from what I’ve seen the Seth comparisons are right on point, if that Dante combo took that much I would hate to see what a Hulk,Thor,Haggar, combo would do she would be gone in like 2 combos, DP mode is but I since they are changing the way the meter is being built I wonder if your even gonna be able to bring out that mode in competitive play?
Can you say the most snapback character in the game but I’m definitely adding her to my team since my girl didn’t make it we’ll see it goes.:arazz:
Im not as interested in DP mode as i am in whether or not she has that homing orb as an assist. Judging by this video, its all the utility of dormammu’s floating bomb (minus the huge damage) for no meter. Otg combo extender + anti flight/superjump tool + chasedown and zoning tool + above average chip damage all in one assist? That’d be the best news since shield assist was confirmed for modok. O_O
As long as she can take at least one BnB from the average cast member and still have some health left, then Im sure Phoenix is going to be viable even without DP mode. You’ll just have to worry about chip damage alot more. Modok shield should help her keepaway and lockdown, if people are willing to have both of them on their team. It’l be interesting to see how people balance saving meter for DP mode and spending it to actually compete.
tldr im hyped for her.

this chick looks FIERCE!!! Just everything about her is O_o, wow! What a kickass character. Awesome fast projs, trijumps, revives, healing field move, and teleport. I love characters with teleports 
I think she’ll be incorporated into my team that’s for sure.
never been soooo hypedd for a game in my whole entire life. Capcom knows how to do it right! fight food events in different regions of the world, new char reveals every couple of months, etc.
I hate that bitch ALREADY, I can’t see how she isn’t at least going to be annoying as fuck to deal with.

May we please call a moratorium on the usage of ‘DP’ as abbreviation for Dark Phoenix? ‘DPh’ or something would be better to prevent confusion with the standard meaning of DP in this and every other fighting game.

I think her game will be zoning and only attempting rushdown when she has her Healing Field super active. Without HF she’s going to go down faster than a drunk college slut during Monte Gras.
The benefits of Healing Field seem worth it, use teleport to get in, pressure with moves/assists and heal up that glass jaw.
Maybe the thread name doesn’t make any sense if you weren’t playing games in 88 /shrug.
