its just seeing all these posts about building teams to get you 5 bars so you can bring in phoenix and if you die dp comes out , seems like a bad strategy
dp will have her uses , just something i dont think people will need to aim for

my point was rather that she needs the meter for healing field probably, yes it looks like her health is THAT bad.
I agree that DP will mostly be a gimmick, unless the assist thing works (Altho I’d hope she at least loses health, or preferably you can’t tag her out at all during it)
On paper this sounds decent enough. I couldn’t see it working though against even average players. Felicia’s charge move is just a free chance for your opponent to get in even with M.O.D.O.K. reflector shield. It would work occassionally, but you couldn’t center your game around it. Also, Felicia has paper-like health too. So you have 2 extremely low healthed characters and M.O.D.O.K?! I see that fight going like this: M.O.D.O.K. alone vs. 2 to 3 opponent’s characters. Perhaps, Phoenix’s “Healing Field” will make up for this though. As of now though I’d consider putting in a solid rush character (w/ wishfully decent health), Phoenix, and good zoner (Dormammu first comes to mind, but your M.O.D.O.K might actually work quite well)
Actually I did think of a way to use dark phoenix (presuming assist gimmix don’t work), it’d be handy if it were relatively close and she was the last character. Sitting on 4-5 bars might make them kind of scared.
Hmmmm I actually feel differently about the opponent getting in on Felicia. She’s a rush down character after all, so anything that will bring the opponent to you (or vice versa) should be to her benefit. MODOK’s shield will not only cause other rushdown/brawler characters to close the distance on her, but it will also require some keep away characters to come in as well (unless they have attacks that can get around the shield.
IMHO MODOK as a single character seems to have one of the best keep away games of everyone revealed thus far. The only one I’d rank above him is Arthur. Although I’ll admit that I’m not too sure how much he’ll benefit from Felicia’s assists. Phoenix’s assists are up in the air as well since we dont know them yet. However if Phoenix turns out to be a great rushdown character, then Felicia’s low assist should be a huge help–especially if she can get some good teleport mixups going.
If you’re saying the match is close, the clock is ticking, and that b*tch is sitting 4-5 bars then yeah I could see that. I know personally I’d be scared to kill her in the final seconds so she can get full life and beat me by having more health. Could be a good deterent that I never actually thought of.

I kinda think so. That vid showed tri-dash and teleport mixups and there wasn’t even an assist backing her up. Plus, while Healing Field is active, she can still build meter.
I know it’s early, but her rushdown looks very good.
And I’m on the fence on this “build a team around Dark Phoenix” thing. I mean, it could work, but I think that mode might work better as a “she’s your last character, she happens to have 35% life with 3 1/2 bars, why not?” thing. She does stupid damage alone, plus she has homing orbs to help her rushdown. Plus it’s possible she can still use Healing Field (which would be jokes). Comebacks WILL happen.

Maybe it comes down to playstyle. I see where you are going with this, but I’d personally rather out-zone the zoner w/ M.O.D.O.K himself in that case. I couldn’t see myself benefitting from her charge as I wouldn’t want to break my momentum or lack of. So, with her low health on top of that she’d be a wasted spot to me. I would like to see more footage of her, “Kitty Helper” hyper though and actually see this low assist.
P.S. I still want to petition this thread be named, “If at first you don’t succeed…Resurrect!!!”

Heh, honestly I have no interest in playing any of these characters. :lol: I just brought it up because if I did have that interest (and I wanted to test out a battery team for Phoenix) then they would be my first choice.
Again, I think it’s a situation where you can keep both things in mind. Basically, the general goal would be “build a bunch of meter for Phoenix”, and then you can divurge into “use meter on healing” or “use meter on combos” or “save meter for Dark Phoenix” depending on the situation at that time.

I was talking pre-Dark Phoenix gameplan. Obviously you have to be flexible and change plans if you do end up going for the resurrection into Dark Phoenix. Being flexible is always a core element to any fighting game, and this is no different.
Oh well then, no reason to go in circles about this subject then. Lol! I personally will be using Phoenix. Whether she turns out god-like or not. Hell, I kind of would prefer she be low-tier to mid-tier than high-tier just so not everyone else plays as her. I like Marvel (both comics and games) and Jean Grey/Phoenix has always been my favorite character in their whole library. The other 2 spots are up for debate. I’ll have to see who I like or that compliment her or vise-vera.
