Listen. The biggest thing you need to do is to break it down into parts. I watched your inputs and you are messing up your SRK FADC. That should be automatic. You can kind of input those motions before they happen if that makes sense. Like if you remember the motions and input them over and over that will really help. Then next practice the ultra motion over and over again. But break it down. First practice shoryuken in to the focus attack dash cancel. And do it over and over again. Practice it until you do it correctly 10 times in a row. Then do the ultra 10 times in a row succesfully.
@Franked Before I tell you what is wrong with what you said, I need to explain something. I saw your sig “SRK hates me 'cuz I’ma baddie”. SRK doesn’t hate you because you’re a “baddie”, it’s your low self-esteem “we” hate. Look, I understand that you’re disappointed about all that time and effort you put in the game, but there’s a reason the phase "Results may vary" exist. Maybe SF4 isn’t your game, should you be upset about that? No because there could be another fighting game you “could” like out there.
I’m trying to understand where you are getting this idea that fighting games are ONLY for pro players. Fighting games are meant for those who are willing to learn and grow as a player. Again, results may vary here. How much time you can possibly put in, will generate your lvl of play. You just putting Daigo/Wong/Valle/etc as having just have talent is you speaking out of anger. We can all be the next Daigo/Wong/Valle/etc, but only if you decide to take the necessary actions to get there.
So next time you decide on posting in the Newbie Sakiyo Dojo, just help out the OP and REFRAIN FROM SAYING THAT FGs ARE ONLY FOR PRO PLAYERS. We like to help people get into fighting games, we like having new warriors enter the fray.
uh, no, DSP vids are a GREAT place to go from beginning to intermediate. He jokes when he whines and whines about… whatever, but there’s a lot for beginners to learn from his gameplay. Also, 5 years on SF4 is nothing compared to 20+ years other guys have in setups and footsies. I’m sure this game is all mental, like tennis or pool. A lot of times when I get wiped clean by someone else, I just shake my head, put the controller down, and find something else to do. It’s just a game, and 99% of players aren’t getting paid so don’t treat it like a job.
now THIS is a joke. and it’s hilarious. to me. (WARNING, VERY CRASS, FAMILY UNFRIENDLY CONTENT) https://youtube.com/watch?v=7dw_lGq9GYI
Why don’t you go back to pad? You should pick what suits you best.
Take breaks if you’re consistently getting the wrong inputs. Muscle memory writes over itself fast. If your hands keep doing the wrong motions the will become conditioned to that.
Then the nervousness of being in an actual match will set in and the combo you’re freaking out in anticipation to land will fall apart and revert back to the old way.
Break the anticipation of the combo. Get your hands used to each action separately. Get your shoryuken down. Get your Focus Attack after the shoryuken down. Work the dash in to it. Then comes the ultra. You don’t have to do this fast at all. Complete your quarter circles. Practice doing this as slow as possible stationary. Slap all three buttons.
Patience. Don’t become flustered. Its a video game. Have fun.
It’s time for you to learn the Genfinite. What is the Genfinite you ask? It is a special training exercise that helped me master super/ultra motions. Ok, so I want you to stop playing Ryu for a while and I want you to pick Gen in training mode. Here is the training I want you to do. In training mode I want you to set the super and ultra guage to infinite. It is Known that Gen and combo his Super into his Ultra, but Gen can also combo his super into his super an indefinite amount of times as long as he has full super meter (which is why super meter is set to infinty). The normal combo looks something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7punVwe6Z_I
So I want you to do this combo but do not do the ultra after the super. I want you to keep juggling the opponent with supers. I want you to try and juggle the opponent for 99 hits. Once you do that lets continue your training.
Now second part of your training. Lets pick Ryu again. With Ryu I want you to set the dummy to all block, and all i want you to do is to be able to uppercut FADC forward dash. Dont worry about the ultra because the opponent will be blocking. DO this until you can successfully do that sequence 20x in a row on each side without dropping.
If you practice these techniques then Uppercut FADC ultra will be a piece of cake.
I’m no pro either. But as long as you are enjoying yourself then thats all that counts.
I’m no good at using a fightstick either but I use madcatz pads. My problem is I can’t react quick enough to what my opponent does. Ive been to super vs battle a few times. I think I won about three rounds then got pounded on the rest.
Don’t worry, you’re probably better than me. I’m not that good either even though I can use the fightstick decently. I have about probably 5-6 online wins out of a possible of 13-15 losses
