“Lucretia had run her course. And [she] really didn’t fit in with Crassus going after Spartacus [in season 3]”
TVLINE | Wait… Ilithyia died too?
Oh, yeah. She’s dead. She is dead.
TVLINE | What are some of the new characters you’re planning to introduce to fill the void left by all of these departures?
Crassus [played by Luke Pegler] is the main one. And a young Julius Caesar will be joining Crassus’ campaign. Crassus has a son that will also be on the campaign with them. There will be a couple of Romans who will pop up. There will be three new female characters that will be coming around. And one or two other people from history will make an appearance, but I can’t really say who. And one of the reasons for the high body count at the end of this season was… we needed to make a little room to bring new characters in. We couldn’t carry everybody.
[details=Spoiler]Spoilers in my rundowns you know the drill, I’ve given you plenty of time to watch the episode so no bitching.
Ashur died……to Naviea? FUCK. THAT. BITCH. Welcome back to my shit list you fucking replacement /salty
Mira AND Oenemeus dies…sigh…and Naviea lives? BULL. SHIT. Okay now /Salty
Lucretia died in a weird way tho, I mean wtf was that? After fighting to stay alive so hard just to kill herself? Did she just snap again or was she crazy the whole time and pretending to be sane? I dunno man, that seemed kind of stupid to me. How do you guys feel about the murder/suicide?
Glabur’s death was cool but a little to similar to the first season’s big bads death imo. It was the same thing, beaten, on his knees, final speech. Too similar and that kinda of took away some of the cool for me but the sword in the throat kinda almost made up for it.
And at least we still have Sexa and Ax wielding dude who still has like no lines even after appearing in so many episodes so that’s a plus :woot:
Edit: Ilithyia died? Well that wasn’t very clear because it looked like she passed out, oh well I liked her [/details]
Good ep, good season, my only complaint about tonight’s episode
Spoiler
Naevia fighting asher, it was painful to watch and slowed down the whole episode, it was like watching a handicap person refuse to be helped (no offence to handicap people) but it was like watching those stereotypes on bad television shouting “don’t help me, nobody help me i can do it myself”. Just terrible
Liam is a good Spartacus, not an easy role to step into.
The only death I wish they didn’t do was Aenomeaus, but historically he was killed early on in the wars. He didn’t even get there. But everyone else I’m fine with.
Camelot didn’t succeed because it was slow, the main character looked like a wuss, and it was competing with my favorite show of all time Game of Thrones (returns on SUNDAY!!).
Good ep. Not shocked at bodycount… the past couple of years in particular, TV shows have been pulling stuff like this for shock value in the finale(still not over Boardwalk Empire or True Blood, among others).
Season did a good job of bridging the gap between previous season(s) and tying up loose ends. No real complaints, but they better get some hot young ass to replace all the tiddies lost this season.
Onto GOT now…
I thought it got better as the season went on, especially that shit that happened at the end. It was a shame to see Merlin and Morgan go to waste like that.
Kinda weird how I didn’t enjoy the last season until the last few episodes, but oh well!
Made perfect sense to me. Here’s why:
[spoiler=]Lucretia and Batiatus wanted a child. Lucretia did get pregnant (whether the child belonged to Crixus is moot at this point), but the child died inside her womb during the slave revolt at the luddus, where her husband also died. When she revived she found out Ilithyia was pregnant, and Lucretia, suffering from some pretty severe postpartum depression, saw it as a sign from the gods that she was to join her husband in the afterlife with the child they were meant to have (in her eyes, at least). She waited for Illithyia to give birth, stole the child, and then killed herself and the baby so they (Lucretia and the proxy child) could join Batiatus in the afterlife as a happy family.[/spoiler]
Well that was amazing, I ain’t even gonna lie I almost shed a tear when onomaeus died. Great, now we need a new token black guy to fill out the roster. Loved the episode, although I was kinda iffy on the whole neavia vs ashur battle, but I think it was handled well, neavia was never ashurs equal in combat so it was fitting she beat him with what amounted to a cheap shot. Im still dealing with all the deaths though, mira’s death was so sad, particularly since it was avoidable but I guess her story had run its course. I was kinda disappointed with how they handled the illithyia, spartacus baby situation, thought they would do more with it, plus I thought they would do more with her. Finally, lucretia… that was definitely the biggest shocker, but I guess it made sense what with her being crazy and all.
Overall amazing season, looking forward to seeing where they go with it in season 3. Thankfully saxa and dude with axe survived, and was it just me or was she giving gannicus the eye all through the finale? Guess we can expect some action between the two of them in season 3.
Aight folks, Im off to go test out magic city, hopefully it doesn’t suck.
Yea heard bout that, pretty excited, but I still haven’t seen the episode yet so Im not sold. But on a separate note, was this the first episode of the season that didn’t feature any form of nudity what so ever? I think so, I really do.
so fucking bullshit. one of the best chars of the show gone like that? fuck that. op fucking mira dying also. god dammit. i guess at least sexa is still there. can expect to see her tits next season. but god fucking dammit BULLSHIT. i knew xena was gonna fuck shit up. some kind of revenge there. but i thought they were gonna go the season 1 to season 2 thing with xena but to illythia. be kinda broken record of they did. hopefully she is dead. oenomaus dying wasnt that bad of a blow. at least he went out to someone worthy of dying to. the egyptian fucked shit up and i called him fucking up one of the main chars. sucks to be oenomaus. spartacus glabur fight was cool. that didnt really dissapoint.[/details]
