Don’t know if it’s common knowledge yet but I made another little guide about how to combo off Evil Ryu’s dive kick
I forgot to state that it doesn’t work on big characters like Gief or Sagat, but the rest are fair game. You can do this during block strings and fake a cross up into a dive kick to start the dragon kick combo. So I’m finally starting to see some hope in this character.

very nice! I tried to do the first reset you displayed with the cr.lp then to Dive kick against an Oni last night and got DPed twice, when going for the dive kick in that situation does the DP only whiff with certain characters?

You need to delay the divekick ever so slightly so it will hit them on the back of the head, not meaty to the front of their chest because you aren’t safe jumping the 3 frame reversal you are causing it to whiff. However versus Yang’s LK roll kick you need to land it meaty and early because it goes almost straight up and you can’t whiff it. Same goes for Chun Li SBK. Make sure you try out different timings on different reversals because some you have to safe jump, some you have to make whiff.
The ‘safe jump’ set up with st.mp whiff into divekick does indeed work against reversal srk’s but not against delayed non reversal srk’s.

If they do a delayed non reversal SRK though, they eat the cross up MK into 350dmg combo and another reset or a LP SRK Knockdown.

Possibly the best person Evil Ryu player in the world(well he said he might main him). Sorubaddogai is a top player from Australia and is the same guy that made the Evil Ryu combo video from a few months back.
It’d be nice to have someone to look up because no one noteworthy seems to want to anything to do with this character so far.
