"I am not sated-" Evil Ryu Video Thread

Ah now I got it.

You’re right.

I remember everyone said it started a frame slower and recovered faster? So would this mean that his starts faster or is just overall faster.

Evil Ryu has pretty much always had better fireballs in every game he was in. Capcom vs SNK 2 fireballs were godly good though. They started one frame faster than GUILE’S and recovered one frame slower… without charging. :o

its startup is definitively faster, I think the projectile’s moving speed is the same but Im not sure. I think the recover is also the same but Im not entirely sure here aswell. Im just sure that what causes the 3x c.lp, s.mp xx hadoken to connect is the faster startup because even the HP version of Ryu’s hadoken wont combo.

Well the frame data they’re putting on those sites are off, because they all have 14 for startup. I don’t think they recover slower than Ryu’s. People usually comment about the faster recovery speed. But if it starts a frame faster and ends a frame faster it would almost seem too good, although Ryu’s fireball is stronger in terms of damage. Maybe we should do a graph or something.

With the macro bots it should be doable with PC dummies and high FPS recording? Or perhaps just look stuff over in ono! ?

I’ve seen graph comparisons of fireballs before, I’d love to see some fireball graphs with Ryu, Evil Ryu, and Akuma too. Mainly Ryu and Evil Ryu though.

E. ryu’s s.mp has more hit/blockstun than ryu’s according to the frame data avaiable.

The frame data I see is off. It has Ryu’s standing mp at -1/-4. When was it negative on hit? I don’t believe they have different properties. Seem to be about the same, I’ll look into it more though.

15:31 and after. Boss ass Evil Ryu

Man, for a moment there I actually thought your video meant that some arcade unlocked the actual boss Evil Ryu and we were going to see some ridiculous teleport canceled into normals/specials madness. But still, that was a pretty good Evil Ryu. Any idea who he is since it looks like he isn’t playing with a player card?

I asked Kim1234 and it’s Naruo playing. Those matches were matches to qualify for SBO. Kim’s team got 2nd to Naruo’s team.

that explains it, I have never tought on checking the hitstun, its so obvious now.

Geez, I’ve seen plenty of Tuneless Zero’s Evil Ryu before, but man I’ve never seen him mash DP like he did in that video. Was he angry or something lol. Amazing how that Adon player let him get away with so many of them.

Blackvegeta’s channel presents:
15 minutes of Ryu hitting himself.
Starring sekiganryu and Nagao.

Does Nagao see Evil Ryu’s dive kick as completely useless? He flat out refused to use it against Akame in that match. Even in the best situations where it could be used. I guess he wants to stick with the safe stuff. Another thing is that he kept approaching like he had to. He lost several rounds trying to walk in against Akame and ate a lot fireballs for it. Evil Ryu’s regular fireball and DP’s are just as good. He didn’t have to try to get in when he had the lead. Maybe he’s not as confident about his zoning game, but who knows really except him.

At a high level, dive kicks aren’t that great. The difference in timing to block the dive kick or crossup is big enough that you can just kind of autoblock them. You block normal, then after the dive kick would have hit you, you switch to block a crossup. Can do this vs. any character with this kind of attack. Cammy air CS. Seth dive kick. Even empty jump into low attack that tons of characters do. Against someone doing this, you’ll have a lot more success with the ambiguous semi-safe jumps he’s using.
