Played three matches on the stream last night. Tell me what you guys think. Also two other eryu players there if you want to look for their stuff. Spriggan won paying mostly eryu throughout the tourney.(gues I’ll just post their matches that I find.)
At about 1:05 I play JackCannon(Thawk) and at 1:40 RoyalPhlush(eryu) vs. Bones(sakura) and just after that I play Dfly(cammy)
5:00 Spriggan(eryu) vs. BlackBallStatus(Akuma) 38:00 Noah NCS(Sakura) vs. Me
Dfly scares me and I choked vs. Noah. Should have had him but there was one setup I missed that’d have finished a round, and a combo in the last game.
Thanks for the links Dankk, you have a nice Evil Ryu there. I like the fact that you’re attempting and consistently hitting the one frame strong link after MK axe kick. That’s something I’m too afraid to attempt on my own. It’s too bad how you lost to that Sak player. At the end of the 2nd round of the 2nd match, I pretty much already knew what was going to happen. You guys both used EX and he got away for free, then he did some random shit and it worked out for him.
In the end, you lost because you dropped combos and he kept landing random unsafe EX DP’s. It’s a tough way to go out. But I thought you did pretty well. I hope we can see more from you in the future.
Thanks. And you’re right…after I gave away that second match to Noah, I was done. Went for a combo I didn’t even need and dropped it. I just started focusing like an idiot…and Sak is one of the last characters you want to use focus against.
its char specific, I know Chunli in one of those chars, Cody is another one, I never saw it but im pretty sure it wont be a block string against balrog aswell. I think it is a TBS against all the shotos.
You can put balrog in the “for sure” list. Happens a lot when I fight him. Only times I can remember it happening vs. other characters, they hit a button that extended their hitbox. But vs. those characters I know I’ve gotten punished for a perfect max range c.mk xx fireball. Really blows that it’s those three, too. They all have multiple things they can blow through that fireball with.

Some lovely wtf info on that Choi vs. Naps set. Did you know eRyu’s fireballs have better frame data than Ryu’s and that his cr.mk has the same range as Ryu’s?

Ok I’m going to say something stupid. Daigo should have switched to Evil Ryu against Infiltration because his low forward into fireball is a true block string. So he would have still had that in his arsenal against Akuma.

he would have his c.mk baited till oblivion, or it would be simply beaten by akuma’s own c.mk or, believe it or not, the s.HK. From that range, if E.R. does nothing, only the second hit hits, if E.R. does the c.mk then the S.HK’s first hit hit as a counter and the second hit hits aswell, its just sick. It doesnt aways happens but it happens A LOT, makes no sense even when you take a look on those hitboxes that leaked during the SSF4 releasing.
Daigo would have his aas handed to him by Infiltration even if he knew how to play ER and infiltration didnt. Daigo’s best chances were with Ryu. The thing is, we can keep saying he should to start the set faking hadokens with qcf LK and abusing c.MK xx ex hado, but it would have been a matter of guessing there, between infiltration and daigo. Infiltration did the right choises and there was no time to adapt for daigo. Its a joke that tournaments like EVO keep doing bo3s on a bracket.
I think more people are starting to agree with me about that matchup after this fight. I have been seeing some comments like “I couldnt see what Ryu could have done to win the match on those situations”.
I actually wasn’t being serious, it was just a joke. I’ve had my fair share of moments getting destroyed up close by Akuma’s with his superior walk speed and faster normals. I think Evil Ryu loses to Akuma 4-6 compared to Ryu vs Akuma which most people say is either even or slightly in Ryu’s favor.
But anyways, I actually asked Ono if he would do a AE 2013. I said the fans want it.I’ll be honest, it was a selfish request because I’m still hoping for another version with more buffs for this character. But I also asked if he could do a ST style game where you could choose any of the characters. That would be great, just hope it can be done and they would want to do it.
the c.mk thing was pure bullshit but the hadokens are different imo. Pick E.R. as dummy and Ryu as your char in trainning mode, record a 3x c.LP, s.MP xx LP hadoken, it shall combo against ryu. Then go to Character change and pick Ryu for both you and the Dummy, and set the dummy to playback again, the hadoken wont connect. I dont think E.R.'s c.LP and s.MP have any special property that Ryu’s ones dont, so the hadokens are different.
Actually it was quite easy to me to notice a diference and thats why I decided to test it some time ago.

Meh I did a huge edit talking about how much Id like to see this game more like ST because sf4 is all about random crap and how thats harder to do than to create a whole new game but it just got deleted or something else.
Sorry, I didn’t actually mean the original ST. But the version that we see all the time that allows you to pick between the different versions of each character from World Warrior all the way to ST. It’d be awesome if we could play Vanilla Sagat vs Super Guile or AE Yun vs Vanilla Seth.
