Good to see more E. Ryu players, I see most on consoles. I think I’m the only one who uses him on PC, lol. He’s not seen much there.
I liked some of those combos, neat stuff.
I’m a Pc player and my main is E.ryu but i don’t know how to upload replays from endless battle
another good E.ryu

Hey, what’s your gamer ID? Love to play another E. Ryu and get practice.

Thanks for the video, nice matches by Naruo.Too bad he kept messing up against the Balrog player. On a side note, for some reason Evil Ryu’s partial U2 doesn’t land all the hits on Makoto like it does on every other character in the game. I’m not kidding, go ahead and try it yourself. If you do SRK, FADC, U2, it will do 10 hits and 344 damage to the rest of the cast while only doing 9 hits and 316 damage to Makoto.
Who know, maybe that one hit was what was needed to finish her off in that round. Regardless, I wonder if Capcom knows about it and if they will ever bother fixing it if they do another patch or balance update to the game.

Nice resets, like a boss.
This man makes Evil Ryu look WAY more viable.
Nice to know even top players still get hit by EX Axe Kick if you mix it up properly.
Yea, it comes out pretty fast especially under all of that pressure. Bison was taking damage like Akuma/Seth it was insane. I was mesing around with that combo in the lab. lots of one frame links as I was starting with cr.mp, shame the damage scaling is what it is. I guess that would make Evil Ryu broken if it was like it was back in the older days.
I’m going to have to flush out punish combos in the guide at some point. He punished for close to if not max damage every chance he got.
When in the corner, that variation of the BnB combo (cl.HP xx MK Axe Kick > cr.MP xx Fireball xx FADC > cl.HP xx MK Axe Kick > cr.MP xx Tatsu) will give you more damage than the standard BnB (cl.HP xx Fireball xx FADC > cl.HP xx MK Axe Kick > cr.MP xx Tatsu).
After a focus, cr.MP > cl.HP xx (X) is more than standard cl.HP.
You do get a bit more if you do it that way. It is a 12 hit combo if done correctly, although the damage scaling makes it not as much as one would think. If you’re really good with execution it can be worth the effort.
cr mp >cl hp xx mk axe >cr mp xx fireballxx fadc > cr mp >cl hp xx mk axe >cr mpxx lk tatsu xx shoryuken.
I think the fadc to cr mp is 2 frames, although I’m not sure completely.
axe kick fadc cr.mp cl.hp always does more damage than fireball fadc combos and they work midscreen better. The second FADC isn’t really worth it but the first one adds like 100 damage or something.
Because you can do cl.hp xx mk axe kick -> cl.mk against Abel and Seth, fireball FADC combos are better than axe kick FADC combos against those two characters.
Also it’s worth considering whether it’s better to just do cl.hp xx mk axe kick, cr.mp xx lk tatsu, lp SRK FADC hk axe kick for the untechable against the characters that tatsu sweep doesn’t work on. You give up damage but if you land another crossup mixup that’s basically the round.
It’s totally worth the effort. Also read above, fireball FADC combos are worse than axe kick FADC combos.
The only benefit is that you can convert off a cr.lk cr.lp cr.mp to an FADC combo on crouching characters with FADC cr.hp, but damage scaling makes it pretty bad at that point. If they’re standing I recommend far mp xx lk tatsu instead of cr.hp because it might whiff. Unless you’re used to character hitboxes in this game and know when it will work.
Fireball FADC combos should be used off frame traps and pokes because mk axe kick only combos off cl.mp, cl.hp, and cr.hp. Off cr.mp, far mp, or cr.mk you have to settle for a fireball FADC but that’s ok because there won’t be much damage scaling.
Right you get more damage canceling it off at the point (where you get the 12 hit combo) that just depends on the person’s execution though as there are 4 1f links, not sure if Fadc>cr mp is a 1 frame or 2 frame. I think it is a 2 frame. So it’s a great punish if you can nail it consistently, like Naruo.
Have you done the far mp lk axekick FADC? Wouldn’t that be better than using the fireball as the lk axe is 100 damage? I don’t see that one done as much though.
Edit: I see more of what you were commenting on. I was talking about the extra damage you get for expending the bars if you loop into the 12 hit combo. I did it a couple of times but the opponent was on red, but I think it does damage in the 460 range. I’ll have to do it on a full health character.
So it does more damage than the other way, I was just talking about doing the combo once.
cr. mp>cl hp xx mk axe kick> cr mp xx lk tatsu xx shoryu is 388 damage.
cr. mp> clhp xx mk axe kick> cr mpxx fireball xx fadc>cr. mp>cl hp xx mk axe kick> cr mp xx lk tatsu xx shoryu Does about 470 damage or something (I’m not sure on the full amount. I’ll have to test on a full health opponent).
You get more damage that way obviously, but for the execution requirements I would think some would just land the combo once and do a crossup or something for that damage. But it’s a powerful punish.
lk axe kick FADC works? Have you actually done it? I thought it didn’t work. If it does, that’s awesome.
axe kick fadc cr.mp is a 1 frame but it’s plinkable. Otherwise axe kick FADC cl.hp would combo, which would be hilariously retarded. Honestly if I’m going to do an axe kick and do a 1 frame cr.mp link anyway I’d rather do FADC cr.mp cl.hp.
You can do FADC cl.mp xx mk axe kick for similar damage and a 2 frame link. I think it’s still better than mk axe kick cr.mp xx fireball FADC.
It works. I’ve only been able to link cl.MP from it. Feels like a 1 frame
I’m going to look into all of those suggestions you guys posted. They seem really interesting now that I’m more accustomed to my fightstick and the timing for this game. It feels a lot different than Capcom vs SNK2, Alpha 3, etc (which is what I’m used to). Now that I’m more used to slowing down my presses I’m going to branch out and experiment.
Edit.
So Fadc cr mp is 1frame? That means that 12 hit combo has 5 1f links in it. Wow. Good practice pulling it off consistently though and getting even better at the stick. Especially in a match.
It’s pretty easy if you plink it. Once you know when to plink the buttons, the plinking does the rest. I hit all his 1 framers fairly consistent.
I plink everything lol. The only way to go reliably IMO. Except when online, that’s when it’s more of an issue due to lag. That’s one benefit of the stick, easier plinking.
Timing for me was an issue with things like link, link, cancel into special, as you go slow and then execute fast at the end. In the older games it was all really fast and crisp execution. The shortcuts can get annoying at times with certain characters. Walking into a crouching attack into a dp motion makes a super come out, unless you do it very slowly. One thing I had to adjust when using Viper as her seismo cancels and Burst time are easy to super if you do them too fast. I’m used to doing things fast, so things like FADC I had to slow down a split second or it would just do the attack. Took me some rewiring.
