"I am not sated-" Evil Ryu Video Thread

Holy…

That’s going on my psp… gotta keep training…

Naruo’s Evil Ryu was god like. Easily one of the best if not the best Evil Ryu on the planet so far(it doesn’t hurt that hardly any top players play him though).

That’s probably the best Evil Ryu I’ve seen. He links that Cr. mpxx bnb perfectly. I can do it frequently in training room, but I haven’t risked it much at all in a match. THe lag can be a bitch.

If you mainly play online dropping combos comes with the territory. You won’t land it online if you don’t go for it at all. Yo just do it.

True. I’ll try to put it into my game today.

Does anybody play PS3? How long did it take them to get used to the lag difference between PS3 and PC? It seems to be about a frame off or so.

Won’t ruin the ending but godamn. Didn’t like a lot of what Naruo did here but eh. Whatever gets the W

So is EX tatsu a viable move to do on wake up against cross up EX psycho happy Bison players? Meaning you an avoid the meaty and hit them while they’re practically inbetween you.

I need to download these and get them on PSP.

If you need a conversion website I’d recommend these two.

I have a good converter. I just need to get them off the net. Sometimes youtube is screwy so I use my account at MetCafe. Thanks though bro.

I use a couple of converters that are specifically for PSP. They deal with the less common files like MKV’s and whatnot. If you have a PSP I can give you a list of sites.

You’re welcome. Although, Keppvid makes it easier to get videos off YouTube at a high quality, especially with MP4. But I don’t think you need that, lol. Just ignore me. :stuck_out_tongue: Peace out.

I’ll look into it. I use downloadhelper for videos I need to get off the net. Whether it’s instructions to something or whatever. But if that’s superior, I’ll check it out. Don’t want to get too off topic though, so I’ll take this elsewhere.

I would of thought otherwise. It isn’t projectile invincible until frame 6. I think EX Tatsu would lose if it was truly meaty.

First fight is Bonchan against E.Ryu. The E.Ryu didn’t want to fireball war him with the Shakunetsu surprisingly. I always do at max range. It’s risky but you can start an oki game from just that with just 2 dash. Or get into low foward range with it where Sagat will be afraid to throw FBs in fear of counter hit. Not sure if I agree with it being 4-6 like that eventhub tier list says

Evil Ryu’s considered 4th worst? I don’t think he’s that bad. I thought Ryu was considered top tier this time around.

I think Evil Ryu is just under explored. Like Seth was, probably not to the same degree but it’s there.

It’s Event Hubs. Generally speaking they don’t know shit. Not to say that all of them are bad, but a vast majority of them don’t hold a candle to folks over here.

I believe from max range Sagat can throw a fireball and recover in time to jump over the Shaku. If that’s the case, the Shaku’s recovery will make you’ll lose ground and frame advantage, letting Sagat dictate the mid range ground game from that point.

Ryu is definitely not top tier anymore. He actually might be the worst shoto out of ken akuma and even sakura arguably. I don’t think E.Ryu is 4th worst. Bad yeah but they just took Ryu’s matchup and dropped the numbers. More 5-5s definintely.

Well what I do and has worked out pretty well is use the 2 hit fireball to try to get the knockdown after ducking a high tiger shot. Low tiger shot has ass recovery and it’s easy to catch. You can even jump it on reaction at certain ranges on reaction and get a combo. If Sagat blocks or jumps it, you can immediately throw another fireball with advantage. I don’t see how we’re not winning the fireball war at all. Using the 3 hit is just obnoxious unless you’re reading a ex tiger shot. Usually Gat will throw another one after shaku cancels out his ex and catches him. Problem with Shaku is if they’re close enough to jump it and land a jumpin, it’ll probably hit because the ass recovery.

Hmmm so many people said Ryu was tops. I guess the characters with everything Akuma, Seth, etc, simply have a better time getting around the defense in this game. Evil Ryu needs a better sweep and teleport, maybe better footsies. He just requires hard work and is slow reward. Akuma has almost everything he does PLUS a vortex so yea… I didn’t know Ken was better than Ryu, Sakura has the gimmick and can be powerful, but I thought Ryu was more solid. Might just be me I am a bit newer but I’ve watched a lot of things.

For me, the farther the range the more tempting it is to use Shaku. Sometimes I’ll see Sagat neutral jump it though. I just mix him up with the slow and fast normal fireball to take his momentum away.

Ryu hasn’t been top tier since Vanilla, but he’s definitely not the worst shoto. Well then again it depends on what you think a shoto is supposed to do. As far as zoning and space control, Ryu only comes 2nd to Akuma. All he needed was his cr. MK back and he got it. Along with that, his FBs do more damage, he got his offensive tatsu back and his HP SRK does 200 on CH. Ken and Sak need to get inside to start doing damage. Although Ryu may not be as strong as Sak and Ken when inside, he’s still scary with a 3 frame jab and easy as shit counter hit combos.

Ryu does damage keeping people out and he can do damage once he’s in.

Evil Ryu doesn’t have a lot of ways to open an opponent up (Akuma does that better), which is why you have to force people to make mistakes trying to get around your zoning (Ryu does that better). His cr.MK is slow so throwing it out recklessly will get you counter poked, whiff punished, focus crumpled or completely jumped in on. His fireball doesn’t travel as fast as Ryu’s and his EX fireball doesn’t knock down. st. MK is a good poke, but it’s not scary enough to stop people. ER’s mid range is weird.

I’d ask for a better teleport, sweep and cr.MK 6 frames instead of 7. If I had to settle, I’d just ask for ER’s cr.MK hurtbox to be reduced like Ryu’s cr.MK.

Well I don’t think people believe Ryu is worse than Evil Ryu.

Yea, patience and punish. I stay away from cr.mk much unless I’m putting a fireball around it. His f. mk is ok for surprises and people who abuse focus (if you chain tatsu). Standing MK is good and underrated, be cool if you could chain it.

I agree with you completely on buffs. Akuma’s teleport, Akuma’s sweep, and a faster cr. mk. It feels weird when Akuma’s sweep beats out your cr. mk. You and I are eye to eye on that aspect. I wouldn’t mind the axe kick being more useful outside of combos though.

Is his fireball slower than Ryu’s? I always thought it just hurt more.

I like Evil Ryu and I think playing with him has taught me a lot in a short time that I’ve played because I have to really know my footsies in this game (which are a bit different than Capcom vs SNK2’s footsies). But I’ve always liked high/risk reward characters with lots of options. Akuma for instance (although I’d rather use Evil Ryu in this game). I thought Seth looked appealing when the game came out and I used him for a bit, but Evil Ryu looked neat so I bought the game and played with him.

I like the Capcom vs. SNK 2 Evil Ryu. I think he was just right. Great sweepx tatsu combos, awesome fireball (best in the game, recovered very fast) good Akuma teleport, and he had that unblockable super fireball that did good damage. I like that this Evil Ryu is more of his own like that one was, and wasn’t just an palette swap (like Alpha).

C. Viper has been looking interesting for me to mess around with as of late though, maybe as a side character. Just looks fun to play with, I know it will be a different game and that I’ll have tons of advantages I never had before and better matchups. I know her execution is tight but I love high execution stuff like KOF XIII. I’m used to doing roll cancels, paint the fence, and shosho too. So she seems right up my ally. Hope she isn’t too braindead though. I’ll have to see for myself.
