What I don’t understand is why japanese players feel the need to do the HP dp after the LP dp in the corner for such little damage when the positioning after LP dp is so much better.

Please do, i’ve been trying to recreate that j.rh for about a half hour now. The only time i can actually get it to hit guile is he keeps the stick at neutral, which is completely useless. Dunno, maybe my timing is off, but i’m wiffing the sweep i swear at the same time as he was. But yeah it really looks like an unblockable when he does it.
I just tried it and got it to work. So far it’s only a unblockable against Guile. It completely whiffs against Ryu, Rose, Adon, Sagat, Gouken, Cody, T. Hawk, Balrog, Dhalsim, Rufus, Dudley, Oni, and Fei Long. Against Bison and Viper, they will get hit if they block it as a cross up, but won’t if they block it like a frontal jump in. Which is still good, except that those 2 are 2 of the most unlikely characters that will block on wake up. The rest I haven’t tried yet. But here is a quick video I made, I’m controlling Guile BTW

Ahhh, i was doing the sweep too late, i was pausing then sweeping, i guess its immediately after the hk.axe kick. I’ll give it another try. Looks good though.

Man, what a shitty way to lose. A execution error is one thing when it’s a 1 frame link or inputting your commands incorrectly because of overlapping commands, but he simply failed to chain his jabs lol. It’s either that or he simply didn’t believe the dive kick would hit and was so set on that belief that he dropped the combo on his own.

There is now way I see Evil Ryu having a advantage over Cammy. That’s just Sako beasting as Evil Ryu because that match up is either even or slightly in Cammy’s favor IMO. I would love to see more of that Sako Evil Ryu, it looks like he’s taking the character more seriously than we may have thought he was. Does your friend know if he’s actually main’ing Evil Ryu Greg?

Yup got this to work, timing was easy after a little. But like most unblockables, you can get out just by holding up. And what sucks for eryu is that they dont even get reset, he just wiffs, well with everyone i tried at least.
A more difficult but more safer method for Guile to get out of this unblockable is to hold F(the direction E.ryu came from) and press s.LP. It causes the unblockable to wiff if you have perfect timing.
Here is a update guys, you don’t need two bars to put yourself in position to attempt the unblockable. You just need hit confirm in HK axe kick or land a EX axe kick. Here is a example with HK axe kick

I’ve tried it over and over just using only cl. MP xx HK axe kick, but all I got was a cross up HK that will land if they block it as a cross up and if they block holding back then they’ll block the attack and Evil Ryu will land in front of Guile instead. It looks like you need at least one jab in there to space it just right. Or maybe I just haven’t gotten it right yet, but if anybody has then please share it with us.
Another way is to land a EX axe kick. You can either combo it or try to catch Guile holding down back. Just make sure when it lands, it leaves you pretty close to Guile. Then whiff a cl. fierce and go for the cross up HK. I didn’t make a video of that but I’m sure you guys test it out to see for yourselves.
He maybe has Evil Ryu as his main later, still needs to work on him lots I guess. Sako chose Ibuki to play Daigo in Topanga League (January 29th) so he probably stll feels confident in Ibuki for now.

I stumbled upon this awhile ago but never had a chance to record it in a match. Full screen U2 setup at the end. Doesn’t have to be done the exact way and works as well if the opponent jumps a lp fb when it’s about to reach him.
I thought of posting some of my vids for reviews but I think my Evil Ryu play is pretty scrubby and boring as it is not mixup-based.
Hope the vid above earns E.Ryu players another tool to land full ultra 2.
