Hyper SFll AE thread

I played this game for the first time yesterday. Holy crap CE Bison is retarded. I don’t even play Bison and I was stepping all over people.

You didn’t post the link right

Oh, and also where’s Honda? My preference is HF for random jump roundhouse and standing sweeps. (Super has them too, but eh.) ST’s a super turtle, but I don’t like his normals.

Dictator has always been retarded, however shoto’s and Guile can hang with him and fight well against him. Super floaty jump can be easily AA if you have well timed fb’s or sb’s, he doesn’t have a true AA as well, plus in the corner he’s in trouble. He is however still easily the most overpowered character in the game hands down, no doubt about it, he can fight almost pratically everybody and have the advantage.

I have to disagree about his statement of Ce. Bison being overrated. Tokido clearly demonstrated Ce. Bison’s potential at Evo2k6 and alot times it was psycho crushers on end and even #1 place finisher Alex Wolfe was using Ce. Bison as well, Ce. Bison just scores big damage way too quickly with such little effort. However since it was one big tournament with HSF2:AE only, I will say that hold this tid bit like a grain of salt because who knows if we had more tournaments, things could and will most likely change, but as of now, Ce. Bison still from what I’ve seen is overall still the most powerful character.

I don’t know about T.Sagat being better than Ce. Sagat either, however overall I do agree with many things that Sirlin does say though, but I would definetly like to see more tournaments being held for HSF2:AE at the highest lvl so that we can start to see a better overall picture of how characters do stack up against one another. Great link though Callmeanewb, was fun to read it, especially his talks about H.Ryu:wgrin:

I capped my matches, take a look:

well for me i use T.Ken air hurricane alot cause people tend to get gittery about trying to grab you or block or counter upon your fast landing, it all comes down to how you play i suppose. i just like him ove CE ken for that reason, its a big part of my game.

Is it just me? or is the computer AI way superior to prior versions in AE? Im having slight trouble on 1 star here? But on the original sf2 , i could complete the game on 1 star blindfolded? is it just that i suck or has the ai improved?

I think the AI improved…I’m having a bit of trouble with 1star AI also

Ryu: I have to disagree with you regarding C.E Ryu being better than HF Ryu. There are key differences in the attack moves of the characters that need to be noted. First of all and most importantly, the jump kicks are different. C.E Ryu’s jump kit goes higher and floats in the air longer. HF Ryu’s jump kick is much more quick and effective. If you don’t see the difference, try it out :). Also, C.E Ryu’s hurricane kick is not as good as HF Ryu’s although they both go through fireballs. HF Ryu’s hurricane kick is much faster and more difficult to counter attack…especially the short hurricane kick. The fireballs speeds are also different. I feel HF Ryu’s fireballs are more effective. He has a nice slow fireball and a very fast one that makes him difficult to beat. I dont feel CE Ryu’s higher damage potential is good enough to offset the other advantages that HF Ryu has. HF Ryu’s air hurricane kick is whack and almost useless. It will work against amateurs, but not pros so I won’t even use that feature in my arguement. Also, the one thing I do not like about the game is that with using HF Ken or Ryu, you can combo using short kick followed by Fierce Punch and it will connect (if your timing is right) against all the characters in the game EXCEPT for the Super Turbo ones. If you know how to do this combo, try it out in training mode and you will see that it doesnt work. Otherwise, I would see HF Ryu getting a pretty good match against ST Ryu.

Sagat: I have to agree with you on your observations regarding C.E Sagat. His damage is extremely high, and his fireball might be the fastest in the game. If you are midrange and you are walking forward towards C.E Sagat and find him throwing a Roundhouse fireball, you won’t even be able to block it…that’s how fast it is! Also, his uppercut combo could take 75% of your damage. I would not be surpised if C.E Sagat was #1 in the game. He is very difficult to beat simply because it’s like playing with a lower handicap if you are not a C.E character.

Ken: There are not many people good enough with Ken to be able to even answer this question. My #1 character is HF Ken and I think he can go toe to toe with any other character in the game. The ability to destroy your opponent with high damage combos/TOD’s by preying on their mistakes cannot be overlooked. If you do not have the air hurricane kick that goes STRAIGHT across…backwards and forwards… you WILL LOSE period! It does not matter how much damage C.E Ken takes. The air hurricane kick is very important for positioning and getting out of traps. You will have a VERY difficult time (I would even say impossible if your opponent is very good) getting out of fireball traps in the corner if you are unable to air hurricane kick backwards to assist in canceling out repetitive fireball attacks. ALSO, if you’re reflexes and hand coordination are fast, you can do a very low air hurricane kick (so low that it looks like Ryu’s hurricane kick going through fireball) that barely passes over Ken or Ryu’s fireball, helping you position yourself in front of your oponent to land a dragonpunch. If you are fast, you will connect. If you are bit slow, at least you will land a dragonpunch and they will block it. If you are slow, dont even bother trying it. AS noted earlier, the air jump attacks between the C.E shoto characters and HF shoto characters are different. The C.E’s stay in the air longer making the more susceptible to anti air. And for some reason, it is MUCH more difficult to do a dragon punch with C.E Ken than it is with HF Ken with the game pad (I have yet to try the game with a joystick). And doesn’t it feel like HF Ken’s moves are executed faster? or is it just me? All in all, I feel the agility and extra ability of HF Ken makes him more well rounded to match up well against other characters. HF Ken’s killer TOD combos are blood damaging enough :).

^ do not know who this dude is but he hit the nail on the coffin with turbo ken^.

t. ken in AE is very well rounded to fight most characters

I’m beginning to agree that T. Ken might just very well be the best Ken in HSF2:AE as well, I was a very firm believer at the beginning that Ce. Ken was the best, however after I played the game extensively now, and one of my brothers is a hardcore Ken player, he switched from Ce to T. Ken, however he had more success with T. Ken due to the aerial hurricane kick bs.

I’ve always felt that T. Ryu was the best Ryu overall handsdown, even more than CE or ST Ryu. Imo, if HSF2:AE was played more at the highest levels, I feel that T.Ryu would easily be Top 5, or better yet in the Top 3.

Daz shutup your shit. you vs me, money match at Super Versus Battle :stuck_out_tongue:

lol…that caught me by suprise:rofl: but remember i am poor so i have no money 5 total, 5 matches (1 pound per match) my turbo ken vs your ?/?/?/?/?:arazz:

Haha, i didn’t even know you posted on Srk.com.

I accept your terms, but i aint going to stick with one character.

Any good match videos out there for this game?

They have some vids of Jeff vs. Daigo in HSF2:AE on youtube(Ce. Guile ftw), you can also download them here as well…forgot where though.

i don’t know about the US but there are some good matches with UK peeps playing at neoempire.com:looney:

the media dump section or the tournements results page for fighters day 1 and 2

Sissy… :arazz:

lol RWD, your too sissy to come to Super Versus Battle, your just a bedroom champ.

I’ve downloaded every piece of media from that site and the AE matches are tight. I just wanna ask, I read up the UK fighters prefer AE over ST. Is it due to variety of characters? It’s a pretty cool thing for a scene that doesn’t shun down on this game.
