[HvH] Deck Building Thread

Nah, just keep grinding away @ Offline and you can get him

Okay, thanks  Time to body some more CPU.

I seem to have gotten more of him in the Herald campaign, so maybe try that? Here’s my usual loadout:

Silver Surfer/Professor X/Missile

Constant meter regen/higher chance of getting better Marvel cards/higher chance of getting better Capcom cards

I tried herald mode and I just got him now! Time to play keep away with three Dormammu’s! Thanks for the help

No prob  glad to be of service.

Fin Fang Foom sharply decreases the hit stun on her TK Traps, regardless of whether she’s using X-Factor or she’s transformed. Your opponent will fall out of the combo after the first trap. It removes her X-Factor infinite, but it also completely screws over any combo potential she has. She’s practically defenseless after the transformation because she has no X-Factor, can’t use hyper combos, and she can’t combo to restore her meter to level three efficiently because of the hit stun change. Even in X-Factor, she can’t combo off her death mix up. She’s not that big of a threat. Trust me, I’ve tried it. The only way to make it work is to take a parrying card as a secondary, and that hurts a lot more than it helps. Dark Phoenix with infinite level three X-Factor sounds broken on paper, but with the way Capcom’s implemented it, she’s completely useless.

In theory, the best Phoenix deck is the following:

Primary: Mephisto (+3 hyper gauge on start, +2 automatic hyper gauge regeneration)
**Secondary: **Multiple Man (+1 hyper gauge on start, team of one)
**Secondary: **Luke Cage (+2 vitality)

When she becomes Dark Phoenix, she’s still a threat, even without X-Factor. She can do one million damage easily, builds meter like crazy, and the feathers bring up her hit count. Even if you do get hit, she can absorb more damage and build more meter. That means she can build herself back up to level five in very short order. Even if you kill her, another will just take her place, and she has access to her TK Trap X-Factor infinite with this deck.

Play offline with a team with Marvel rare card bonus’s ie prof x.

The team I rocked yesterday was a nem hulk wesker team. With fff, sabertooth primary, and mr. Blue.
This team will not die. As long as you have a sliver of health you are fine. Really the only counter for my team is a super high damage build. I want to try multiple man fff builds tomorrow.

Lenght of instant attack refers to traps like Chris’s mine or Trish’s Peekanoo/Hopscotch. It simply increases the duration, pretty good.

The card that messes your combos is X. It seems to heavily depend on the character, say, my Jill wasn’t that affected, probably because of the absurd stun on her normals, but who knows.

My card farming loadout:
Feylenes/Prof. X (2x)

2 points in rare cards on each side, abilites don’t matter if the A.I. can be cheesed.

I’ve been grinding in Offline for the most part and am at 90. blah blah% completion. I’m literally missing like 10 cards. If this is true does that mean I pretty much have to go online for the rest of the cards? Its not a problem as I’m currently 20 - 1 on my record but its such a crap shoot with all the busted team set ups and lag =\

Still surprised I haven’t heard more bitching about The Watcher, it’s so OP.
I’m running Watcher, Myria, and Lillith - so far I haven’t found someone who can touch me, since I can easily zone them out with Dorm, Deadpool, and Taskbitch or Strange

Whats crazy about this team is that I can’t run out of meter since I get 3 bars every 20 secs, auto vitality if I’m ever losing, and my hypers steal meter from my opponent. So far, no one is able to outlast me since I can pretty much just spam hypers the entire match.

Servbot Primary Fin Fang Foom Secondary, any 2 meters at start of round Secondary.

OPEN ME UP BRO. (I tech throws)

Not sure, actually. Only super armor I run into is against the computer. Most of the people I see have air dashes, so it’s not a situation I have experience with. I don’t run the FFF build online much, since it doesn’t work with my main team. I’m still coming up with a main deck to use online.

there’s a video on srk front page full of wrong information about H&H cards lol. stay free, srk.

I finally got an Anti-Venom card today, and it’s a card that I’ve been interested in for a while. You can imagine my dismay when I looked at the card and saw that the icon for the Attack Up effect was the top-right pointing arrow… (though I now see why that effect stacks additively and doesn’t level up like other abilities.)

Anti-Venom increases your attack every 10 seconds of in-game time.
Lv1: +4% damage
Lv2: +8% damage
Lv3: +12% damage
MAX: +20% damage (untested since I only have two Anti-Venoms, but I’m assuming it’s the same as other abilities with this icon)
This stacks additively with other abilities with the same icon (red arrow pointing up-right) and multiplicatively with other damage boosting effects.
Theoretically it’s the strongest attack boost in the entire game, but you have to wait 40 seconds for it to be worth using over vanilla Attack Up.

Does anyone have a link to the original gamefaqs post where the guy figured out that ā€œlength of instant attacksā€ refers to trap duration? I’d prefer to have that credited since I’m sure there’s no way I would’ve figured that out on my own.

Here’s the info on poison damage, as it is the centerstone of my current asshole deck:
Lv1: 125 damage over 6 seconds
Lv2: 200 damage over 8 seconds
Lv3: 300 damage over 10 seconds
MAX: unable to test, need a third Red Skull

Played against a guy with Mandarin, FFF and Multiple men and chose wesker…ugh

I’ve been trying Sabretooth/FingFanFoom/Grandmaster. It takes a little bit to get going, but once it does it’s really hard for them to kill you. Another great thing is that you get the Sabretooth regen from the get go, so you have even more durability to build up the third bar.

Anybody know how to get the Captain Commando or Serpent cards? These are the only two S-rank cards I’m missing. The others seem to be tied to the bonus stages in offline mode.

I love how a fucking metagame is already developing for H&H.

Seriously makes my fucking day. Hopefully I burn out on ToR soon so I can really sink my teeth in.

I have been running this with Daken for HP regen instead of +2 meters at start. You get a Hero bonus (+2 meters at start of match) if you win via timeout that carries into your next match which is great since the goal of the deck is to win via timeout. I find the health regen on the Daken card to be more useful than the always starting with 2 meters. Health regen lets me take more risks and not even care if I get thrown (unless it’s a char who can kill off a throw).

It’s so funny. I have never laughed so hard as when I beat a Hawkeye player entirely with counterhits and punishes using Deadpool’s s.L chain combo. I almost laughed that hard when a Vergil player (down to his last guy) wailed on me with HS spam for 45 marvel seconds until timeout. Ragequits, rage messages, hilarious.

While playing offline, i put my secondaries to Nick Fury (rare marvel cards) and Prof X (meter for every 20 seconds + rare marvel cards) to increase my chances of getting rarer cards. However, it doesn’t seem to really do anything. I think i even got more S-rank cards without Nick and Charles in my deck. I really wish i knew more about their algorithm for determining which cards you get.

Also, when the computer has Nick Fury as their primary, it seriously takes me like 10 minutes to beat their last character. Is there any trick to just knocking out that last 10% of health without it regenerating over and over?
