"Hunting Mavricks, one combo at a time," The MvC3 Zero Combo Thread

well…yeah. There are other variations you can do for assists that don’t hit as many times as well (such as just leaving out the first TK lightdash and just going into j.buster after 5S). And if you don’t need a hard knockdown (such as if you’re going into the lightning loop instead of rekkoha) it works with OTG assists as well (call assist TK lightning dash->j.Buster->lightning dash->sougenmu)

I find it very difficult to charge the z-cannon while executing combos. It might be possible but I whould have to hold the controller in akward positions in order to execute it.

Change your controls. Make one of the triggers/bumpers another L,M, or H button so you can use it to charge (also, get comfortable with switching which button you’re charging with).

For combos ending in :a1: :qcf::h: :s: :dp::l: Level 3 Buster :dp::l: :qcf::h: :qcf::atk::atk: I should start holding :h: when I do that first :qcf::h: right? Then let go of :h: for the Buster release?

yep. Make sure to hold L after the second j.623L if you’re adding on a second assist extension though (or if you’re going to go into the lightning loop).

after i do zero bnb call dante 236 H to lighting buster lighting and when i try to 2369 M OR H OR BOTH LOL it would hit the opponent but he would recover in air have no idea why any help why?

You have to do S while the Dante assist is hitting them to make the flying screen work.

thanks i really never notice that hidden notation lol

So like I can kind of do the Lightning loop consistently in-match, problem is it’s right side only o_O. Not entirely necessary as I have my team set up to TAC into Dante for a DHC glitch, but I get style points I guess.

I’ve been having issues with a Zero combo that includes Ammy’s Cold Star Assist. I cannot seem to get Ammy’s ice to catch the opponent, they always end up blocking. Here’s a video of me failing with it. Also, if someone could help with the most damaging combo with the current assists I have, I can reach iirc ~800-840k with combo ending with Rekkoha>Shinku Hadoken, thanks guys. <3

As soon as you land with Zero, you have to hit with standing S to bridge the gap between the first and second snowball. Like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9WkF2bKoMI&feature=player_detailpage#t=94s

I’m trying to learn Zero’s MMH Loop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9z84Z1iFxJk (this one, video was not made by me)

i think the notation is after launcher is MMH, (fall) M, j.M M H, j.M M H …

I’ve gotten the hang of catching them with the first M into j.M M but i’m struggling to hit H with all 3 hits and then jumping back into M. is it character dependant?

To get all three hits there are two things you should check.

  1. Did you make sure to forward jump?

  2. Were they too high when you hit them with M on the way down?

how do you land two air:h:'s in a row?

I cant figure out how to air:h: with an consecutive air:h: for a klondike bar

You can’t. You can connect air :d::h: into air :h: because air :d::h: gives you more advantage and has faster recovery.

huh, I never thought there was a difference - down H was just for looks X.x

What am i supposed to do in sogenmu? All it does is fuck with my combos. Can i haz halp?

you can tag out for the assist buff… but as for combos you should consider a different set a combos to use when you do that hyper combo - there are some combos that were previously unavailable to zeros move set not unlike x factor

for instance you can preform a chain of :h: :f::h: :h: :f::h:

Here’s some zero combo’s guys from the best Zero player in Florida! Enjoy

Back on the matter of Airthrow dive kick XF. I came upon a relatively easy tod that doesn’t require charge switching, since I can’t do that shit.

Starter>Airthrow>command/air dash>Dive>XF>5l>5M>Launch>J.2H>J.H
then you branch it out to one of these two depending on the character and heights
>J.MM>J.H>J.MM>Buster>Lightning>Launch>J.MMHS>Assist Extension>Rekkoha(generally not necessary)
or the easier version
>5M>2H>6H>Launch>J.MM Buster>Lightning/214L>Launch>J.MMHS>Assist Extension>Rekkoha(generally not necessary)

Been using it a lot when I get the opening throw. Kill without meter and an opportunity to mix up the next character while I have tons of meter generally means Sougenmu BS into another dead character.
