Depending on where I land after a Gamma crush I might just XF and gamma tsunami, since I like catching people out of the air with it. Also if I don’t want to burn XF and I have the meter to burn then I just DHC into dark dimension with Dorm and kill of pretty much anyone.
I just added two small mixups to the second post, both with video examples. There are a ton of more ways to mix it up with Hulk, so feel free to post up your ways of opening up an opponent (video examples are a plus). I’ll add more of mine later, and I’ll add some of yours in with it.
In the case of a Hulk/Dorm/Wesker, which Hulk assist type do you recommend? Gamma Wave or Gamma Charge Anti-Air?
How can Hulk helps out when Dormammu is on the battlefield? I do really like Dormammu as a character and his assist abilities but I have such a hard time when I have to face those hordes of Wolverine and Wesker!!>:(
I’ve used Gamma Charge Anti-Air behind Dormammu with pretty good results. It’s a decent defensive assist against Wolverines/Weskers trying to apply pressure on you.
I prefer Gamma Charge over Gamma Charge Anti-Air for Dormammu and Wesker. It is tall enough to work as an armored anti air vs. Wolverine and Wesker, but can also be used in combos with both Dormammu and Wesker.
To actually answer your question though, when I used to play both Hulk and Dormammu - I used Gamma Wave to help push people back so that my pillar zoning was even more devestating. Additionally, it’s possible to time Gamma Wave assist and Dormammu teleport so that Dormammu can combo after a successful wave, but I don’t think this is what you should make the decision on because it’s not reliable.
This largely depends on your playstyle, as well as the opponents you are up against. I don’t like the AA assist against Wolverine because it misses his small hitbox sometimes. That said, I still really enjoy using Hulk’s AA assist. It’s damaging, and Dorm can set up some mean tricks with it. Since Dorm is off-screen when the Hulk assist hits (camera tracks the opposing character), you can lay a flame and teleport, charge a spell, or go for an airthrow, all without Dorm being onscreen.
I approve of these uses. I’d argue that these off-screen options are more important than combo extending.
I was thinking about playing around with his Y assist, also because he does Crush as his THC. I usually run Deadpool infront of Hulk to help deal with some of Hulk’s bad matchups against keepaway. One of my favorite things to do with Hulk during a blocked multi-hit attack like a Tatsu is XFC blockstun into Gamma Crush. Friend of mine plays Akuma heavy and calls XFC Gamma Crush my BNB lol. My thought here is, would this same technique work as an assist?
For instance, we’ll use Akuma for consistency… Deadpool is getting pressured by Akuma. If I block a Tatsu and I XFC into Deadpool’s Lvl 3, Akuma can cancel the tatsu on reaction into his Beam and rape Pool. If instead I had Hulk’s Y assist, XFC and hit both assist buttons, Gamma Crush would come out to rescue my point character in theory and deal a hefty chunk of damage.
I’m gonna play with it some tonight but I just thought of it this morning on the way to work. I was wondering if you had tried anything similar Liquid since you stated you used Y assist over B.
Yes, you can X-factor and then THC, but it may not be worth it. One note though, if Akuma tries to cancel into beam while you’re doing THC, you’ll be able to follow the Gamma Crush with a Katana-rama (into whatever).
I do not use THC at all with my current team. Unfortunately, they have little synergy together. Dante’s Million Dollars, Hulk’s Gamma Crush, and Doom’s Sphere Flame. While Gamma Crush and Sphere Flame work together most of the time, Gamma Crush almost always causes the opponent to not take more than a hit or two from Million Dollars.
One last thought: I thought that Gamma Charge (anti air) gave you access to Gamma Crush during THC as well. I don’t have my guide available to double check right now though.
Anti Air Charge gives you Gamma Quake. Which works nicely for my THC’s if I use them
Yeah AA Charge is Quake. I played around with Crush for THC and it’s not working out like I thought. It seems like it takes longer to start up than using it on point. I tried it in the Akuma tatsu XFC situation and ended up getting all 3 of my characters hit with a beam lol. This was a terrible idea on my part…
I’ve found that I like having Gamma Wave better with Deadpool now anyway :D.
Anyone have any cross up set ups they want to mention? What I try doing is when I kill a character or snap one in is I call my dorm assist and try a quick gamma charge under them as they come in.
A simple dash works too. Of course, the problem is that characters with airdashes or air supers escape it. Another problem is starting a combo with Dark Hole severely scales combos. However, with Hulk being a reset machine, a successful reset results in the kill.
I call Dr. Doom Molecular Shield and then do a simple dash under. It’s only 4 hit compared to Dark Hole’s 8(?) hits, so the scaling isn’t too bad.
I call Tron, then super jump into H - you should be clapping just above their entry height - depending on your timing, they’ll either cross under you and get hit by the Tron assist, or you can choose to stay on the same side for a fake cross up - the super jump H will catch people who try air dash up, and you can hit confirm into S for a full combo. Since S crosses up as well, it’ll hit them if they cross under you.
Another good mixup. Nice.
Similarly, I do sj.H, j.S mixups every now and then, as it can be deceptive if you’re completely vertically aligned with the opponent’s grounded character.
Astaroth, do you mind sharing some of your Hulk/Dorm/Sent set-ups with me? I’m trying really hard to improve my game so that I can place well at Devastation.
Sure thing. If you play on XBL, I can show you some stuff and talk with you on the mic as well.
My next post will give the info.
Hulk/Dorm/Sent Gameplay Tips and Tricks
First, I want to say that this is an effective team, but it’s certainly not the best Hulk team. While Sent is a strong anchor, I feel like Wesker does the job just a bit better. However, Sent’s Rocket-punch otg assist will hit any character in most situations, while Wesker’s otg shot will miss the smaller characters. Wesker also sets up unblockables, which Sent cannot because his assist doesn’t hit low. Likewise, Dorm could be replaced by Doom or any other great beam assist. This would ensure that zoning teams can’t stomp you.
Mixups:
[LIST]
[]After a blocked Dark Hole assist - You can go for a command throw, especially if your opponent is defensive or scared of Hulk. You can also try for j.S mixups.
[]On incoming characters - You can call Dark Hole assist and dash under. St.M/H stops aggression.
[]Hulk dash-over and assist - Remember, Hulk can dash over small characters, like Wolverine and Ammy. Use this while calling an assist for a mixup
[]Hulk AA Gamma Charge assist on hit - Since Dorm is offscreen, you get a free mixup. Lay down a carpet and teleport, try for an air throw attempt, charge a spell, etc.
[]Hulk Gamma Wave assist - If you use this assist, calling it while performing a M-teleport with Dorm results in a mixup.
[]XF’ed Sent on incoming characters - Dash under cr.M is a great mixup. st.M or st.S beats aggressive approaches on incoming characters.

Basically, if you kill one character with Hulk, you’re in a very strong position. If you’re up against Magneto or X-23 though, you’ll find it very hard to get in land a hit. Start with Dorm if the opponent runs a fast character first. The team as a whole is very straightforward, and you’ll win as long as you play solid and make every Hulk hit count.
Some nice info here, though I’m hoping the reserved posts get updated some more.
Right now I’m liking Hulk on point with Deadpool 2nd and Wesker batting cleanup. Not exactly optimal, but Deadpool’s Quick Work assist can really help with high/low mix-up and could potentially be an unblockable. Also pretty easy to combo from as long as Hulk’s on the move. Wesker obviously uses low gun to OTG and set up the 1,000,000+ damage in the corner.
Deadpool and Wesker make for nice backup to Hulk because whenever there are opponents Hulk struggles with, I can more or less safely bring them in and turn the tables. Their basic combos also build respectable meter and they all have more than garbage health. Everyone also DHCs pretty cleanly regardless of order.
Some others have addressed it I think, but I’m not wild about mashing 5H at the start. I’ve lost with that against a buddy’s She-Hulk slide more times than I care to recall. Though of course it can work now and then.
