I said before that I think Hugo should have at least 1300 health. People thought I was crazy but I still believe that.
Moonsault Press?
Most common situation to have a lp clap blocked is by poking with buffered standing light normals and they block the light normal or it doesn’t counterhit. With the added pushback of the clap, I don’t think the Moonsault Press will reach.
Surprisingly, I’ve had some success going for cr. lp xx lp clap after they block a lp clap. But I have been jabbed out of it as well… Maybe it’s best to back off after the lp clap?
what is the timing to get mp to hit after BB?!?!?
i like this guy but i feel like his dashes need to recover a little faster, wish his crouching m canceled into something and they need to give him a faster jab or something…i feel if this gets another update he will end up being one of thouse guys that gets over buffed and becomes a problem.
Seeing how Capcom operates I wouldn’t be surprised if they nerfed Hugos damage and his ex.bb.
they’ll do the capcom balance by nerfing all his fun stuff.
Lariat no longer breaks armor. EX Lariat only one hit. Meatsquasher does less damge. EX BB has 4 frames of inv and doesn’t fly as far anymore. U2 doesn’t combo anymore. Then they’ll justify it by making claps faster and more advantageous on block.
Well if the claps were fast enough to catch fireballs and to consistently hit opponents out of focus when cancelled from a normal, then that might actually help him a lot.
if hes constantly doing bad he could get something crazy…but i don’t think this game is going to get another update…unless they make a new version for ps4 and xbone
With 1300 health Hugo would consistently be able to stock 2 Ultras a round. Maybe even 3 with judicious armor usage. That shit would be insane.
Hugo is only missing a few thing to be good. If clap had more active frames to nullify fireballs, crouching jab should be 4 frames start up, crouching MK should -5 on block, ultra throw startup should be 6 frames, ex should be the same.
Fire ball matches up pretty much eat him alive, it shouldn’t be THIS bad.
There is a sweet spot about a little over 3/4 of a screen away that you can FA through a Ryu Hp hado and have time to jump/block/Fa a second hado. Getting to that spot before making my approach seems to have helped a little with fireball zoning.
Im going to drop this here its a nice litle thing you should keep in mind HP.Clap MP.Clap (EX.Clap)? and then MP this will Combo and after that you are right in range for a Perfekt Timed Moonsoult Press or if you feel a bit more frisky perfekt for a Ultra throw this will deal a huge amount of stunn and damage and if they jump you still dealed around 350 -400 dmg so only 50 dmg less then the full clap combo!! works pretty well
Landing a HP clap is pretty random and difficult verse anyone decent. The pretty much have to walk into it.
Something I found during a set last night. Also works if it’s done as a meaty regardless of counterhit. http://youtu.be/D-BPdw55gsE
100 entrants at Wednesday Night Fights and No Hugo onstream…sad face. I wonder if anyone even picked him off stream.
People nowadays just don’t like fun.
In a tourney it’s about winning not having fun picking a shitty character. I love watching Hugo too but lets face it, he’s terrible and not tourney viable at all at high levels.
whats a good range to throw out ex clothesline i seem to keep getting punished every time i try to counter a fireball
Characters like Gouken and Guile you basically have to predict a fb because they recover so fast. Other characters like Ken are more lenient due to there recovery. Rule of thumb is don’t do it beyond half screen because it is easy to react to.
