Hugo combo

Is there a way to combine to combine the d, df, + k , or d, db, b+ p

cross up j.d+hp, c.lk, qcf+KK

only way to really combine would be after a palm (maybe only fp palm not sure) do a qcf+KK

Palm can be “combined” with another palm if a weaker version is used.

You can link all three together on crouching opponent (may even be possible on standing?).

HP Palm, MP Palm, LP Palm on a croucher.
HP Palm, LP Palm on a stander. (better options than LP Palm)

Mind you - landing a HP Palm on someone isn’t an easy task - you can see it coming a mile away and if your opponent’s any good they will parry you and more than likely hurt you :sad:

All palms can be followed up by crouching forward, and probably strong, too. If you’re good enough, you can hit confirm palm into SAIII (super cancel).

Kind of off topic, but a string I like a lot is body splash (cross up or not) low short into short meat squasher.

Poor Hugo doesn’t really have much in the way of attacking combos. Which is not to say he needs then anyways.

His only real decent combo is crossup bodysplash, c.LK, EX Lariat.
or crossup bodysplash, c.LP, c.LP xx SAIII.

I like to do crossup bodysplash, c.LK, LP Palm - if your lucky, they will try and jump back as your doing the LP Palm and u can do a Lariat to nail them in the air. [media=youtube]2zXWfMr1DEg[/media] - 40 seconds in

Which lariat is that? Roundhouse? And how easy is it connect? I was playing around with ultra throw, walk up jab clap, in to lariat and I only got it to connect one time (with Ex lariat).

Oh yeah, there’s another combo. In the corner:

Ultrathrow, clap (I usually wait a bit and use jab clap, but I think it can be done with any, it just changes the timing), short back breaker. Does a little more damage than Earthquake Bomb, but it’s flashy.

thanks for the tips :smiley: now I know, inorder to use hugo, u shud be good at parrying for hugo to intiate an attck… too bad, Im not good in parrying. :<

Being tall doesn’t help either. As someone on the Q board put it, they can either hit you in the face or in the gut, which makes parrying a lot harder.

On another note I found some stun juggles thanks to youtube.

In corner:
Neutral throw (stuns opponent), low strong, standing strong x 5
You can add forward or EX lariat at the end for a little more damage.

Doesn’t work on twins as far as I know.

I supposed you would end with the following:

Fierce clap, jab clap, SAIII

In answer to the original question, yes, they can be combined. You can cancel into EX lariat from any palm, and you can also do strong palm, jab palm xx ex clothesline.

you mean fierce clap, jab clap xx ex clothesline?
strong can only link into jab when opp is crouching, hence the ex clothesline won’t connect

Hey all.

I recently picked up Hugo and I’m having a pretty good time using him. I’m trying to land the combo Ultrathrow > Clap > Backbreaker but the backbreaker always seems to miss. For some reason, I can’t follow with anything after the clap. Could someone explain what I’m doing wrong?

Hey Psycho, in order to make the backbreaker connect you must:
A) late palm bomb LP or MP only (late means that palm bomb hits when enemy is almost reaching the ground)
B) backbreaker with LK only

you must do the motion of backbreaker just when the palm bomb hits, timing its a bit strict, but anyway, when you get used, its not that hard

Ah, thanks a lot. I’ve gotten it down a bit now. Is it possible to do from mid screen though? I’ve read (In the other topic regarding my question) that you can do HP (MP?) Clap > RH Backbreaker. I’ve tried it but no luck.

I dont know if its possible to combo a hp palm bomber into a hk backbreaker, i’ve tested it a lot of times, and it didnt work.
and in midscreen, well, its possible, because if enemy doesnt move, and you advance through the stage, the screen itself won’t move unless somebody gets very close to the corner (the screen corner, not the stage corner), but you can do the same as in the corner, even when you hit the enemy with palm bomber, and the fallen dude is going through the stage, you cannot use MK or HK version of backbreaker. mk needs more boost, and HK is too high.

btw, wtf is an earthquake bomb? i didnt add that move in the SRKWiki O_o

Earthquake Bomb is apparently the name I made up for 360 punch. My bad.

The main combo i’m using currently is a HK dropkick, LP Larriot. If you’re playing someone who’s not seen it before, this move leaves you directly next to them, so you can repeat with the same combo from the spot until dead! However if you’re playing someone with some wits about them, they should be able to block/parry. This also leaves you in a nice spot to do the HP clap into HP moonsault BB.

I’m pretty sure than you can snag the twins after the neutral throw by doing standing strong after the throw instead of crouching strong.

using c.jab/s.jab also works relatively well.

you can combo s.short on chun after neutral grab for some neat setups. Especially with gigas.
