Hub City Showdown! - Hattiesburg, MS - 6/12/2010 - SSFIV/T6/MBAA (NEW BONUSES!)

The 'burg makes its tournament debut this summer!

All games which have 10 or more entrants will now have a $50 bonus in addition to the normal 70% payout!

Date has been moved from 6/5 to not coincide with GAMME, not that that matters anymore.

Location:
Comfort Suites
122 Plaza Drive
Hattiesburg, MS 39402
Google Maps link

We will be located in the Southern Room, which is to your front-right as you enter the lobby, behind the lobby couches and continental breakfast counters.

Date and Time:
June 12, 2010
Registration will begin at 11:00 AM and will last until 1:00 PM
We will begin at 1:00 PM sharp. Too many tournaments start too many hours late, and everyone from out of town will want to get home at a decent hour. I will – at most – give 10 minutes if someone is running late or went to get a bite to eat before starting.

Door Fee: $10
Entry fee will be waived if you bring a complete setup (this includes console, CRT or low-lag LCD measuring at least 19", and a copy of a game)

Games:

Entry fee for all games are $10 each

Super Street Fighter IV (360)
This was changed to 360 from PS3 by popular demand
Tekken 6 (PS3)
Melty Blood: Actress Again (PS2)

Payout:
1st: 70%, +$50 if there are at least 10 entrants in that particular game
2nd: 20%
3rd: 10%

Rules:

As I said, I will be running this tournament on time. If you are not registered by 1:00 PM, you will not be allowed to play in the tournament, and if you are not at your station ready to play within 5 minutes of me calling you, without informing me (or any other staff) beforehand that you will be out for a bathroom break, food, smoke, or match for another game, you will be disqualified.

This tournament is BYOC – I do not have much in the means of spare pads or sticks, so don’t run off and forget yours!

All tournaments are Double Elimination
In all games, loser may switch characters between matches, winner must keep previous character

Super Street Fighter IV:
Best of 2 matches – 2 rounds per match – 99 second timer

Will be going to this

Me and my bro will definitely be there.

I"m down, gotta make sure I’m off the night before this.

Will probably be checking this out along with a friend or two.

Damnz, no marvel.

Date has been changed, was pretty boneheaded on my part to miss that a southeast major was happening that same weekend.

Does anyone have a te stick for my bro and a fightpad for me for ps3, we only have 360 since new Orleans does there all on 360. Vice it be great if we can have SSF4 on 360 =)

I don’t have a 360 or a stick for it, and most of the people I know who could bring setups have PS3s as well. It’s most likely not going to change from PS3, but I’m willing to loan my stick…just as soon as I get off my lazy ass and fix it.

Looks like I changed the date for nothing. Anyone prefer the 6/5 date?

Just keep it on the 12th since its the main headline…don’t want to confuse people… if I were I would edit and highlight/bold increase the size even bigger so that people will know its on that date instead of the original date 5th. I believe some people from Alabama and New Orleans are coming too. So make sure that you clarify its on the 12th.

Since I can’t edit this post to add a poll and I have had concerns about it, I will simply ask and request for responses:

Would you rather SSF4 be held on PS3, or on 360?

If it is decided that I will run it on 360, then it is imperative that we get people to bring setups, as there are literally zero people I know around Hattiesburg who have and are willing to bring a 360 with TV and a copy of the game.

PS3. It’s just so much easier for tournaments.

I’ll add a vote for 360

I’m pretty sure that I have that weekend free and I am pretty sure I’ll car pool with someone else from NO.

PS3 all the way.

Yea if you guys have mainly ps3’s over there…its best if you just run it on ps3. But if the majority has 360 like we do down here…then put it on 360.
JRock you still haven’t gotten used to the stick yet? Its time for training man before the tournament so you can just use whats there.

I vote 360. Only because I have two sticks on 360 just in case peeps need an extra. If I’m able to make it there, I can bring either PS3 or 360 and an Evo (Asus 23 inch) monitor.

I don’t have a ps3 controller, but I could bring two televisions, two xboxes, and two fightsticks if we can get this thing going on 360…I live like ten minutes from the comfort suites, so it really wouldn’t be a problem.

SSF4 is now officially on 360.

Agh, after I finally got a stick on PS3 too. Maybe I can find a 360 controller that actually doesn’t have a broken bumper button before then or something else.

Also, is the day set in stone yet? I’m pretty excited, this would be my first tournament since its so close to here.
